We had a group of 6 on a Friday night and they easily accommodated us . We were greeted immediately by the host and sat quickly . Our server was over shortly and got our drink order . He was super friendly and I loved that he used adjectives to describe everything we ordered ie me " I'll have a beer , him " one delicious cold beer coming up " . He brought out chips and sals which were great as well as the Guacamole we ordered . After we ordered entrees they all came out surprisingly quick but everything was fresh and delicious . Los Garcia Mexican in Sandy is... okay. The food is decent , nothing bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. Some dishes are flavorful, but others feel a little bland or inconsistent. Portions are good, and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable for a quick meal. Service was friendly, though a bit slow at times, especially when it's busy. Finally was able to stop in for dinner after wanting to try Los Garcia for awhile, and I'm glad we did! Friendly service and great food. I tried the chicken enchiladas smothered with chile verde and they were excellent, the rice and beans were great too. My partner tried the chicken enchiladas and enjoyed them as well. They have a pretty big menu, plus the chips and salsa were solid. I'd definitely return and would recommend coming in! read more

We've been coming here for years. The owner has to eat gluten free, so several of their dishes can be made GF, though they aren't marked on the menu. Just ask your server. My go to is the gluten free enchilada Suiza with the cheese melted over the side of refried beans. It's amazing every time. One thing I really appreciate is how long the staff stays. It says a lot about the restaurant. Nacho has been there forever and is genuinely one of the kindest people. Jasmine is always warm and attentive, and Jorge is so friendly and will happily hype up the guacamole any chance he gets. The space has a comfortable open layout. It's usually not too loud, although like any busy spot it can pick up during rush times. The decorations are fun with traditional Mexican dresses, sombreros and their year round Christmas tree that changes with the seasons. read more

I joined some friends for a birthday party and los garcia is his favorite mexican food restaurant. All of the dishes looked fantastic and delicious. I like to see what they have on the la carte , and I got a beef chimichanga, and a chili Relleno. Both were absolutely delicious. I was gonna with the chimichanga.You always get a side of sour cream and guacamole.Just the perfect amount with the lettuce garnish. Always perfect. You can order the Chimichanga in shredded beef, ground beef, chicken or carnitas. That's four different Chimichangas that they offer and what I told each one is absolutely delicious. I always love to order the chile relleno because you get a nice anaheim , or a poblano chili in it, stuffed with cheese, dipped in their batter, cooked and topped with their house sauce. Always a perfect choice and a perfect choice to compliment whatever you order with it. Their birria tacos looked absolutely delicious. I might order those when I go another time. Yeah, everyone enjoyed their food. Even the children; they had good choices for the children. As you can see in the pictures , the atmosphere is sweet and wonderful and inviting. There is a giant picture of Pedro Infante, the most famous singer from all of Mexico. His popularity is as strong as Elvis Presley. From what i'm told; and they are both passed away. The chips and salsa were yummy and homemade. The wait staff were very friendly, sweet, and they were able to answer questions about anything within the restaurant. The place was packed. Los Garcia is a really good and pretty authentic Mexican restaurant. And I was so hungry that I forgot to take pics of my food! However, I got the 2 enchilada meal with rice and refried beans. So I got 1 chicken enchilada and 1 shredded beef enchilada which were both fantastic and both of the meats in my enchiladas were so flavorful and the seasoning was definitely on point. I considered giving a 1 star but since the chile verde platter was decent I gave 2. My issue arose with the to go items I ordered. Ordered 2 Chile Verde Burritos. Nacho asked if I wanted them smothered and I said "no just the burritos w/o any sauce". What was delivered and what was on the receipt was "smothered chile verde burritos". When I told him they were wrong he said that is the way they come. I asked what the difference was between the 2 listings on the menu, one that says smothered and one that doesn't and he said "cheese". Nacho said they don't make them with chile verde inside and what did I want to do. Left them on the table since I needed burritos to "travel", paid the full bill and left. We came here as a family for dinner, and the whole experience was just OK. We visited at the end of April, but for whatever reason it was incredibly hot in the restaurant. Like they hadn't yet turned on the a/c after winter time. It was uncomfortable. Our service was fine--no stand out actions in either direction. Pretty standard. Our food was also fine. I got the two chimichangas and had some leftover but didn't take them home. (For the record, I always take home my leftovers.) We did enjoy the churros. I feel like when we have Lone Star Taqueria close by, or could drive a little while for Don Pollo or Chile Tepin, I would rather go there. read more

We were looking for great Mexican food and we were not disappointed. Chips and salsa were tasty, the salsa had a nice bite. I had the small combination with a shredded beef hard taco and chicken enchilada. Both were delicious. I loved the enchilada sauce. My husband had the beef fajitas and they were also really good. I usually take a bit of food home as Im a light eater however the refried beans and rice were possibly the most bland I have ever tasted. Just a step above canned refried beans. The ambiance is your typical Mexican restaurant that appeals to the average white American. I came here looking for some cheap Mexican food that satisfied a craving on my day off and it was decent. It's not the best, but it's definitely better than a lot of places. They have various frozen margs that had I been with other people, would have loved to try it. They include chips and salsa with your meal and even offered me an additional serving of chips and salsa even though I was alone. The service was slow but the food came out quickly and it was a bit crowded for a weekday. I ordered the enchiladas suizas, which aren't the typical cream-based salsa, but it had a nice amount of cheese. Portions are great and the food was tasty. I was in and out in 45 minutes. Based off of a food delivery order. Food was warm when delivered. I got the Smothered chili verde burrito. I found it very bland, lacking any real authentic flavor. I felt I even lost my own substance eating this one. Cheese was shredded melted american.. pork also seemed tasteless and was cubed small. There wasn't much sauce as I was hoping for EITHER. As you can tell being this saucy ain't come from nothin'. Food seems VERY mediocre and dare I say made intentionally for those without melanated skin.. OOOP Chips and salsa were actually good. Salsa as you imagined, NO heat but tasted freshly made with ripe tomatoes. I get it, the majority here can't even pop a candied hot tamale without turning beet red and requesting an ambulance Rice and beans.. rice was dry and seemed warmed up from previous day or days batch. I try and make at least one stop at Los Garcia every time I'm in town and this trip I brought my cousin. I was surprised at how empty it was for being around lunch time. We were greeted right away, sat and drink orders taken. I like that the salsa has a bit of a kick but not too hot. Chips were ok, but it felt like the bowl had shrunk since last time and bit over cooked, but still good. I chose the verde enchiladas and my cousin some type of chicken salad. Everything came out fast and I loved the enchiladas and rice. The beans were a bit too blended for me. My cousin liked her salad, but way too much for her to eat. I had the carne asada burrito with Chile verde pork and cheese. In the burrito was also guacamole, tomato, onion, refried beans and onion. The dish also had a side of refried beans and yellow rice. After eating the chips and salsa (crispy chips - so a yay from me), I mixed some of the Chile verde pork with the rice and beans. This was delicious. Then I cut into my burrito and the smoothness of the guacamole and refried beans with the carne asada was luscious. Service was great and friendly and the prices are really reasonable. read more

My wife and I have eaten here several times in the past. Never had a problem until tonight. The waitress was quick to take our drink order. She brought our drinks and took our food order. The problem was all of our table got their food while I was told mine would be right out. Well 15 or so minutes later my food came out. It must have been someone else's food. I ordered steak fajitas and got chicken. I ordered black beans and got refried beans. The place was getting busy so the server was at another table. I flagged down another server that took the wrong food back and supposedly ordered a redo. When our server finally came over to check on us I told her of the error. She said she would make sure the cook got right on my order. By the time I finally got my food, everyone else had finished. I must say eating after my family was done and ready to leave was not enjoyable. I can't really say the server was bad. I am just disappointed that no effort was made to comp my meal or drinks or even an apology. I won't say I won't ever go back but the next time I am hungry for Mexican food, this won't be my first choice. read more

Solid TexMex at a decent price, this is our go-to when we want simple Mexican without all the fuss of a larger restaurant. The flautas are pretty epic, the rest of the dishes we've had are pretty good. Service can be a little slow at times, but we've gotten pretty used to that as staff shortages run as rampant as omicron. They serve some decent margaritas. As I said, a good, solid, upper-middle of the road Mexican place we enjoy frequently. read more

We have eaten from Los Garcia before and thought it was good Mexican food for the Utah area. Tonight was a different story. We paid a lot of $$$ fo our dinne, which were barely lunch portion sized. I only got 8 shrimp in my spicy shrimp dish and my husband got the mixed faijtas, which was he was able to fit into one tortilla. Also the rice was dry, the beans were bland, tortillas were soggy with grease, and honestly, I've never felt so ripped off. The togo bag was also improperly packed and my shrimp dish leaked everywhere, pictured is the leakage on our tortillas. The bottom of the bag and all of our Togo containers were covered. Another con: they use stryrofoam which is awful for the environment. We will not be returning. read more

I keep forgetting about this Mexican restaurant that I've wanted to try for years, well today I did. Nestled in a strip mall right on 7th East close to 90th South. I was surprised to see they were opened today. As we walked in, there were a few customers eating. The two employees looked at each other as if to say "Are you going to seat them or am I?" In the end it was a very young girl that didn't look old enough to be working in a restaurant sat us clear in the back corner booth. As we walked by the occupied tables, I could see what they were eating, their food looked delicious which was a sigh of relief. Our waitress came over and took our drink order. When she brought our drinks out, she also brought some chips and salsa. The chips were light and slightly warm, the salsa was really, really good. I wanted to ask her if it was home made or prepackaged but wasn't given the chance to ask. While waiting for our food to be prepared, I could see tv's hanging on the wall. I don't think it's a good idea to have tv's hanging about, unless you're a restaurant with a sports theme, or an actual sports bar. Out came our ole chili verde stand by's so I have something to compare this version to. Right off the bat I could taste the difference in tortillas. These tortillas were on the really thin side. The burrito hardly had any meat in the burrito, or the sauce. It still tasted good, probably because I added some of the salsa on top. We asked for more salsa, and a re-fill on one of the cokes. When the waitress brought more of the sauce, she reached across my plate, and planted it right next to my dinner plate. It was so close that her thumb ended up in my rice. Yuck. I can't eat the rice now, I don't know where her thumb has been. We didn't see our waitress again until she sat the bill on the table, we both piped up, and said "we wanted to order a flan to share." She looked surprised, and came back with a slice of flan with a dollop of whipped cream, and two spoons. The waitress never said "I'll be your cashier, or pay at the cash register, or anything concerning the final bill. She said nothing. We ended up walking up to the cash register which is right next to the door. Food was tasty enough to come back, but customer service needs improvement. read more
