Great place to take your grandkids or children swimming. Mine loved it. Nice an enclosed so I could keep an eye on all of my kids.

Went in for the pool and we were able to get in fairly quickly. Plenty of pools to keep you entertained, but the slide does tend to scrape you a lot. My favorite part was the whirlpool part of the lazy river. Was very fun to go around in circles. read more

First of all I got harassed by the employees when I was working out second of all the place is not clean third of all they say no kids in the gym under 11 years old when I see little six-year-old, running around the gym part using the equipment fourth of all they say no kids allowed just because some stupid boy kid did weights with no supervision and very hard weights that he could not do and smashed the top of his finger off so the place is not good. Do not recommend not fun at all I hate the place to not go so bad. read more

Good Recreational Center. I have been coming once a week for several months for swimming lessons for my daughter. Good temperature of water. This is important for small kids because we have tried other newer Rec. Centers but they had water way cooler. Family place to change the kids and keep your stuff and also plenty of vending machines if you need anything. Friendly staff and coaches. Always positive and really paying attention to the kids. Even it's a little old, it's clean and everything works properly. read more

The pool is not safe for children with disabilities. The lifeguards are teens that do not have the confidence or ability to enforce rough play around children with disabilities. The swim area is a drop off for kids while parents are not present. I do not feel safe with my children at this pool. read more

Just be aware that there is no enforcement of masks - especially in the weight and treadmill area. People everywhere exercising and using the equipment either without a mask or with only half of their mouth covered. read more

I'm leaving a separate review for the senior center faculty (look on their page) and the event coordinator Whitney on the Chilson Recreation Center page (here). The reason is because the actual venue was good but the coordinator was not and I want to give an honest review on both. I recently had my wedding at the Chilson Recreation Center in the Senior Center wing of the facility. When we were touring venues and came here we were shown around the large space and FULL kitchen. We were walked around by a manager (male) and assured we could use all our own food and drink vendors (awesome). He showed us to the kitchen and said we would have full access. The only down sides were that the senior center uses most of the fridge and freezer but he assured us they would clear one shelf in each for us to use. A few days later we agreed to go with them and paid for 2/3rds of the room (they have room dividers) and the FULL KITCHEN. We paid a per hour fee for both. About a month or two later I again viewed the facility this time with my caterer. We were again taken by a man and showed around the room and kitchen. He told us the same spiel about how we could use the full kitchen including their coffee makers, etc. He too assured us we would get a shelf each in the fridge and freezer. He then gave me contact for the Event Coordinator there, Whitney. I went home and shortly after got in touch with Whitney. I had a lot of questions and a few requests to go over. She was helpful enough but didn't seem interested in helping out with some cosmetic issues (one doorway had black paint chipping off and she refused to have it fixed and when I said we would paint it she said we weren't allowed) About a month before the wedding I got in touch with her about booking the room and kitchen for the day before so we could setup and do food prep. She was helpful in getting me the space for the time needed but started asking us about what kind of food prep was required. I thought it was weird she asked but explained anyway. She then said that we couldn't do food prep in the kitchen (WTH?!) When I pushed back she said that we had only paid for PARTIAL use of the kitchen and that the senior center uses the kitchen and we can't use it except for small things like the sink and trash. Keep in mind I was paying upwards of $100/hour JUST for the kitchen. As a bride my stress level flew through the roof. I ended up having to let my caterer take over with her because I wanted to cry. She fought against us so hard in using the kitchen and I kept having to remind her that we had been promised the kitchen during both tours and she couldn't undo that just a week or two before the wedding. I was terrified we would have to find a new venue. Luckily my caterer came though for me and was able to get her to let us use some of the kitchen and also got stand alone food cookers to make the rest. I would never do any business with any venue if I had to work with Whitney again. She made the process so much harder and had no problem ripping the rug out from under us at her whim. She also was so hard to get on the phone so I mostly had to communicate via email. I'm so glad I don't have to keep trying to work with her. My suggestion would be for the rec to drop her as their coordinator and hire another person. There are so many better event coordinators out there. I was so happy with the venue itself and so disappointed with Whitney. read more

This place is an excellent gym for the family or anyone who wants to avoid the bizarre social dynamics of some health club facilities. Some clubs have the most bizarre people in them. You know what I am talking about. There is the guy stretching and looking into the mirror with his sun shades on but you know he's checking out the most intimate parts of every woman in the place, the guy who screams every time he lifts a weight like its tearing every muscle fiber in his body, the guys who lounge on the work out equipment and talk but never seem to lift anything. The Chilson center has a social dynamic I have never seen in a health club before; REAL PEOPLE WHO WANT TO WORK OUT! This place is huge and has daycare, a lounge with a big screen tv, a swimming pool with a slide, a hot tub, two gymnasium sized basketball courts, two racket ball courts, a weight room down stairs with a door on it (scream all you want), men and women locker rooms with showers, tread mills, bikes, a running track, a variety of cardio machinery and a lot of machines with weights and pulleys. Plus they have a ton of classes: Zumba, yoga, weight trainers and a lot more that I don't really use. You can buy a monthly pass or pay by the day! read more

I have been going to Chison for six years now, primarily for the spinning classes in the winter months. Excellent spin instructors, good bikes and a lot of camaraderie. Sherrie puts together a great spinning program and recruits excellent instructors year after year. The Chilson is also priced so all can enjoy keeping healthy... a welcome service all the way around. read more

Ok gym but not for serious workouts as they have a ton of older clients.

This is everything a Rec Center should be. The lap pool is great and even at 7:00 pm I was able to find a lane where I could swim. There's an indoor AND an outdoor hot tub, a water slide, a lazy river, and even a steam room! The locker room feels like an upscale health club with private showers and changing rooms, and lockers with combos you can set yourself. I live in Fort Collins but I don't mind driving half an hour to go here to swim my las and enjoy the hot tub & steam room! read more

Here for the winter and joined the rec center after reading through their catalog of programs. Wow! lots of classes, and very accommodating to all ages. I have been trying out fitness classes and enjoy them all. The instructors are so friendly and remember your name. Very nice desk staff too. I tried the hot tub outside twice but decided it wasn't for me after noticing it was dirty both times - people just won't take a shower before entering. A lot of seniors use the facility - guess it's because the senior housing is next door. Enlightening to see them there. I gave the center a 4 star only because of the hot tub being dirty. Otherwise, the facility is a 5 star! read more

Was in here recently to use the pool and hot tubs. First time I have been back here since they remodeled things. First impression is the prices are high, $4.50 for a day pass is a little on the high side in my opinion for me to use the facility for an hour. The staff was not friendly from what I experienced either. Did not like the new layout of things, seems like they had a lot of wasted space. I used to be a full time member here before Gold's Gym opened and I switched back then. Glad I made the switch, better work out facilities at Gold's and nicer locker rooms. Have to give this place an average rating, I actually liked it better before they remodeled it myself. Parking was still a problem here I noticed even after they added more places. read more

Staff was rude when we had a birthday party here and the life guards seemed to be on a power trip, yelling at everyone and even kicked one of the kids from our party out of the pool because she wore her life vest down the slide. Would not recommend this to anyone looking for a birthday party location. read more

Great rec center. Wonderful swimming area for kids, and raquetball courts are nice if you call ahead and get a reservation. For as busy as it is, they drastically underestimated the needs of the locker room. You can't turn around in there without running into some naked person getting all up in your personal space (and its not their fault, it is just really crowded in there). You can walk around the track upstairs, and you can lift weights on the machines, or do free weights. Thanks Loveland, for making facilities for your residents. read more

Great place for the family or to hang out with friends or work out, the swim area is decent sized and the gym has a pretty wide variety of equipment. It does get busy sometimes so its hard to work out or swim during times, and they have raised the prices the past year or two so its not really worth it unless you're only going once a week or for the whole day, otherwise it's just cheaper to join a gym or go to another pool. read more

I never write reviews but I am so upset. My family loves going to the pool here. It's decent priced and has always been fun to take our toddlers. The last time we were here on 11/27 we enjoyed our swim like normal. Now a week later my sister and I both have yeast infections and our toddlers have diaper rashes. This was the only thing we have done together in weeks. Will not chance swimming here again. So sad to have to say goodbye to Chilson. read more

Not pleased with their customer service. I received a gift card for Christmas and was looking forward to using it for the 1st time. I called at 3:30pm to see if I could use my pass to take their NIA Dance class listed in their Winter 2016 catalog and was told I could. So I drove there at 5:00pm the same afternoon, in 20 degree weather. When I checked in I said I was there for the NIA Dance class. The person at the desk checked me in. I changed and went to the room and then found out that the class had been cancelled. When I went back to the front desk they made no attempt to make up for their two errors (not telling me when I called nor at check-in, before I changed ) that the class had been cancelled. It was a big deal for them to even refund me the pass I did not use! Not pleased at all. read more

This was a great, family oriented indoor pool. My kids love the slide & kiddie area. The pool is a comfortable temperature and very clean. The only problem I had were the lifeguards. I understand they have a job to do & I appreciate them keeping us safe. At the same time their delivery could use work. The rules are not posted up to date. So when we did something that was not allowed they would whistle at you, point & scream. Today, the lifeguard made my 3 year old cry. He was in the lazy river on a tube & went into the whirl, which was apart of the lazy river, but apparently tubes aren't allowed in that part, they screamed at him to get out & proceeded to yell at him for breaking the rules. Like I said before, there wasn't a sign posted for that rule. I even asked the lifeguard to show me so we didn't do wrong again. After that we decided to move onto the slide. My son got all the way to the top (he had been going down the slide the whole time we had been there, in front of several lifeguards) when he was about to go down the life guard made him walk all the way down to be measured. Again, the tone in their voice was not nice or kind at all. He, of course, was tall enough. After this my son wanted to leave. He felt like he couldn't do anything right. I honestly felt like I was a child being watched. The constant whistles were way too much to handle. I would understand if we were running or horsing around but we weren't. I did not appreciate the life guards screaming & yelling at my child or the power trip they gave while on the slide. read more

I like the workout equipment and the environment. There is a variety of ages, depending on the time and day that you go. I have always been able to get the machine type I wanted and never had to wait for a restroom. It is a clean facility and the guests do a fantastic job wiping down his/her machine when finished so germs do not spread. There are multiple tvs to watch and of course, ipod docs. Well ventilated. Free use of lockers. Nice staff and polite fellow patrons. read more
