Curtis is a rare breed.. this company is incredible. I contacted them this morning and left a message. He tried reaching me twice since missing my call and left me two voicemails. My problem was that my fireplace wouldn't start. Curtis did a quick FaceTime video with me and had the issue resolved in under ten minutes.. he tried to not charge me but I insisted. I'll be honest, as a Disney fan, I chose this company based on the name alone. I'm so glad I did. Curtis was wonderful. He is very knowledgeable and respected COVID-19 guidelines. We just purchased this home less than a week ago and I wanted to get everything in working order. I have no idea when the last time the fireplace was even used. I have never had a fireplace before. Curtis did a fantastic job explaining maintenance of the fireplace, how to use the fireplace, and what everything in this particular fireplace did. He also explained to me the work that needed to be done to make the fireplace functional again, as there were some key parts missing for who knows how long. Chim Chim Cheroo installed a damper on my fireplace in my new home before we moved in. Several months later, I noticed that water was leaking into the fireplace when it rained. I immediately looked at the invoice the home seller provided and called Chim Chim Cheroo. That evening I received a call from Curtis who pulled the invoice and indicated the reason water was leaking into the fireplace was because there wasn't a chimney cap installed. Curtis stated he recommended the installation, but the seller had denied at the time. Curtis said he could be out the next day to install the chimney cap for me. Unfortunately procrastination got the best of me and several months went by without installing a chimney cap. After some nagging by my spouse, I requested a quote via Yelp at 10:17pm and received a response from Curtis 4 minutes later stating he could be out the next day! Curtis just installed the chimney cap and even took the time to explain how the previously installed damper worked since I wasn't there when he installed it. We had a gas fireplace that would not light. After contacting several other fireplace repair companies, we were told by those companies that the next available appointment was 5 weeks out. Then we contacted Chim Chim Cheroo. I put in a request for service and received a response back super quick. Chim Chim Cheroo offered to troubleshoot lighting the system over the phone. I did not feel comfortable with troubleshooting a FP over the phone, you know with gas, and all involved. Ultimately, we were able to get another company to service our FP the next day. But I am leaving this review because of the AWESOME customer service we received from Chim Chim Cheroo, even though we did not use their company to fix our FP. Curtis and his team were awesome! We had no idea what was going on without chimney in our 90 year old house. CCC was able to inspect, diagnose and repair what needed to be done- which included adding a flue and a damper. When we moved in to our house, the fireplace was basically just a hole and we lost heat and cool air. The addition of the damper made it better for our house and the flue helps keep the fireplace clean. After completing the work at a very reasonable price, Curtis spent time talking to us about our fireplace, what he discover about its build (very old Adobe style) and how to keep it clean. The work he did on the exterior looks great and he left the interior sparkling clean (cleaner than when we moved in). I will be calling Curtis again when we need a cleaning or any additional fireplace work. He was also very respectful of our home, wore a mask (this was peak pandemic) and offered great advice. He even answered my partners additional questions via email after he had completed our work. I will/have already recommended CCC to a friend and will be using their services again in the future. He cleaned our chimney and replaced the cap it was missing and filled some gaps in to prevent smoke entering the walls.
