Long time customer - always very satisfied. Last couple times food was not that good. Had dinner there last night with wife. Ordered guacamole - tasted like frozen with horrible flavor. Summary: Wentzville location of this St. Louis area fresh Tex-Mex restaurant chain. Loud. That's our main memory of our Sunday evening dinner. Restaurants aren't entirely responsible for their patrons' behaviors, but are responsible for decor and hard surfaces that reverberate an obnoxious diner's noisy personality. It's not an unusual experience: an otherwise acceptable dinner is marred by a customer into her liquor that isn't as funny as she thinks she is, is louder than she believes she is, and is more annoying than she can imagine. This Chimi's has multiple small rooms and a larger main dining area with concrete walls. The loud diner was seated in the center of the room. I wish we weren't. Our Chimi Grande was superb. We took a chance on an entree that mixed steak, chicken, and pork in a fried tortilla. It was a success. The accompanying Spanish rice was cooked well, as were refried beans. Went on a Wednesday evening around 5pm. Ordered a margarita, adobada tacos w/ rice & beans, and ordered a special to go which was similar to fajitas (mixed chicken, steak, shrimp w/ bell pepper, onion, tomato, jalapeño w/ rice & beans.) I've also tried 2 other Mexican spots in Wentzville so this is in comparison to those: Pros: -The adobada tacos were AMAZING. My server recommended them (THESE ARE NOT ON THE MENU) because they are made fresh and they did not disappoint! -The special was really great! It had more flavor from all of the ingredients that complimented each other and 2 people shared the meal Cons: -Pricing here is higher than other local spots serving the same thing. I do know this place has a full page of different chimichangas so if that's your thing this is the spot to go to! -The margarita was pretty weak, I probably wouldn't order again. -No happy hour! Chimi's in Wentzville, MO was a favorite of mine, but something changed recently. The margaritas DO NOT taste the same. They used to be the best in town. Out of all the possible choices for dinner we chose Chimis as they are like family and good friends. Great food. The very best margaritas. After being an at least twice and sometimes 3 times a month customer we are done. We forgot left over, but packaged as take home food when walking out. In less than one minute, they had cleaned the table and threw away our leftovers. when I asked the manager, he stated that the crew works fast, and must keep the tables open, even though there were only 4 filled tables in the building. I asked why no one made an attempt to alert us, given the extremely short time frame and he dis not answer and one busgirl laughed. As a Mexican American it pains me to write this review. Wentzville has three Mexican restaurants within 1/2 mile of each other, Chimi's is the worst. The food is just not up to par. To begin with, the chips are cold and stale and the salsa taste like marinara sauce. Not all entrees come with rice and beans (a staple) or tortillas. The taste of the food has an odd combination of spices and is just not traditional. You'll notice that you never see Hispanic workers eating there. The service is good and the ambiance is tacky. So if you go here to eat, just know you're picking #3 in Wentzville. (PS This restaurant is #4 in you add Taco Bell to the availability. ) read more

We have wanted to try this for a couple of years and would always forget. Tonight we finally tried it and we were pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the chips and salsa, tasted very fresh. My husband had the super jimmy and it was absolutely delicious. I did a combo plate with a tamale and chicken flautas. The tamale and the Rojo sauce Was delicious. I enjoyed the chicken flautas, but want some cream or something on top. We will definitely return and try other things. This is my go to Mexican restaurant when I'm in this area. Good friendly service. Food is excellent. The staff get to know you. Even though I am from out of town, I am still recognized and they know my drink of choice. I like sitting in the back room where it's usually quieter. Fajitas are excellent. Chips and salsa are really good. After a potent large margarita, who really thinks about all of that? They are not stingy with the liquor. A great experience. Good food. Good service. We were there last night and had a horrible dining experience. There was a huge little kids birthday party. The kids were all running around and yelling, hitting the things hanging from the ceiling. Neither the Moms or Dads were making them sit down. The Moms were all sitting together and talking and just as loud. The Dads were at the end of the table either talking or playing on their phones. The food was great! The margaritas were pretty good too. The two medium margaritas were almost half our bill, however, and bigger than I really needed. The salsa was fresh and had nice chunks of onion and tomato. The enchilada rancheras were a delight with good sized pieces of pork over cheese enchiladas. What made it was the light(ish) sauce with pepper chunks. My husband was so impressed with the red sauce on his enchiladas supreme he made me try it and then finished it up with tortilla chips. Everything we've had has been good. The tortilla soup is a must try, especially on a chilly day when something warm is needed. The only reason for the four stars is the staff can be a little slow at times to check on the table and this has happened more than once. read more

Hubby was not at all impressed with his fajita. But we both agreed that my Chimichanga was much better. It wasn't quite as big as long as others I've had, but still a good size for sharing. If you like Mexican I would go here to eat, however if you are excited to eat somewhere you can use a coupon I wouldn't get your hopes up. They pay to promote the coupons in ads and then don't allow you to use the digital version of the coupon ???! Seems a bit off... so the one time I actually brought in the paper copy my option was $5 off $25 or more or $7 off $50 or more... my bill was $54..... and she would only let me use the $5 coupon.... After some back and fourth with my very slim Spanish knowledge I realized it was the before tax amount.... Which still made me upset.... So I won't be going back. Been to this place twice and thought we would give them a third try. Lo and behold, months later way months later, still disappointed. Let's start with customer service: She was friendly but couldn't seem to remember orders. I asked for diet Dr. Pepper which she recommended, yet she brings me diet Pepsi. I let it pass. Chips were rationed, had to ask several times if we could have some more or more salsa. I ordered a simple taco salad and what I got was a tortilla bowl full of meat, lettuce and cheese floating in grease... yes, GREASE. Presentation is subpar at best. Couldn't eat the food I ordered, prefer the grease to stay in the pan/vat or pot not on the food. And cleanliness seems to not be a priority. It's pretty much a third strike for us and we're no gluttons for punishment to come back a fourth time. Now, here are photos of what I ordered.
