Had a family birthday dinner here really enjoyed the guacamole and chips and the queso was so yummy. We ended up eating 3 baskets worth of chips. Love the birria ramen??? I stopped in for lunch with a friend--we ordered from the lunch specials menu which has a ton of options for $10 or so. We both ordered the lunch #9 special but ended up with the #8 special instead--we were both very happy with it nonetheless! Each meal included a shredded chicken burrito with red sauce, a pork tamale, rice, and beans. I think it was great value for the price. First of all, I'm barely able to write this review because the margaritas did exactly what they were supposed to do. Just wow. When it said too shelf, it had to mean in the sky because they were hitting‼ They were pretty crowded but still got seated fast. It was bigger than it looked in there so I was pleased with that. The service was top tier! Waitress was really good and they all worked collaboratively well.it was very weak lit and a nice bar area. There was a mix of tables and booths. Now as for the food, everything was great! The picture does the burrito no justice as it was HUGE! It was almost equivalent a footling subway but very flavorful. That's enough time to ripen a whole new batch of avocados, glad the guac and chess kept you and your friends entertained while the bartender practiced their impression of customer service... on vacation On a serious note, though that kind of response from staff when customers are walking out isn't cool. Absolutely horrible service! I've given them chance after chance after chance and im finally done. Can't even count the number of times they have messed up our online orders by either forgetting to put tortilla shells in the bag with the food, or they make the food wrong, or they give something I didnt even order. Ridiculous. Can't even follow simple instructions. I dont know if its the new generation of kids or if its just people that dont care about their jobs or if its pure laziness, probably a combination of all, but the level of customer service from restaurants and fast food places these days is horrible! read more

Loved the food. My server was so friendly. The music wasn't too loud. I had the day off and needed to grab some food while I was out and I'm glad I stopped here. The large menu has so many tasty options, so it took a while to make a choice. I decided upon something different, the Pollo en Crema. It was a great choice with chicken, broccoli, peppers, and mushrooms; served super hot. I also recommend the Queso to go with your chips and salsa. While we were visiting family in St. Charles, our neice, suggested El Rancho Nuevo restaurant for dinner. Along with the comment, "It's just average and nothing special, but the food is good." She was right! Our food was really good, along with a personable, efficient server. She checked on us several times and promptly returned with the items requested. The restaurant is large, and the Mexican decor is pleasant, a casual atmosphere filled with laughter and conversation. My husband said his shrimp ala diabla was wonderful with perfectly cooked shrimp and a wonderful spicy and smokey diabla sauce. Thank you! His only request is good food, prepared well with ingredients listed on the menu and no cheese or any dairy products. I ordered the unexpected El Toriado with grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, and bacon. All this protein was served on a bed of rice and then topped with cheese dip and served with 3 tortillas of your choice, flour or corn. I was looking for something different, and I wasn't disappointed. It was perfectly cooked protein with a nice balanced amount of cheese dip on top of the meat and rice. The flour tortillas were hot and fresh. I will definitely order the El Toriado again and highly recommend it to those on a high protein diet or just a carnivore. I've only had one meal in El Toriado, but everyone at our table was happy, and our server insured dinner went smoothly. Thank you! Friday night and the place was packed. We took seats at the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The bar is comfortable for eating and service was great. We started with a frozen strawberry margarita, one of their specialties, just for a treat. It was really good, with the right balance of fruit and liquor. The chips and salsa are tasty. They bring out two small bowls, so if you don't want to share bowls, you don't need to. That's cool. The chips are thin and crispy with a light sprinkling of salt--pretty near perfection. The salsa has a full tomato flavor that's not too spicy. There are hot sauces you can add to zhuzh up your salsa if you want. I ordered grilled Hawaiian tacos: chicken with pineapple, served with a pico de gallo sauce. Corn tortillas for me (GF) and they accommodated me, no problem. The tacos were scrumptious. Chicken so juicy and seasoned well, combined with the sweetness of grilled pineapple, it's a treat to eat. The sauce was a nice complement, and I drizzled just a bit on each taco. My husband ordered a steak entrée, carné asada. The serving of meat was huge! Everything looked fresh, and he reported that it was all very good. i've been to el rancho a few times and generally have a good experience. i also love ordering delivery through door dash. on cinco de mayo, our service was so poor, but understandable because of the busy holiday. i love the rice with cheese and shrimp! the salsa is also one of my favorites. the restaurant is large and includes bar and outdoor seating as well. read more

As a former server, I know how challenging large parties can be. We came to El Rancho Nuevo last night after my DIL's graduation from Lindenwood. Regardless of how demanding our party was, our server met the challenge. I wish I could remember his name, but he was amazing. In addition, the food and drinks were amazing. They make a wonderful (and strong) peach margarita. Our food did not take long, our orders were correct, and everything was hot. All in all we had a wonderful time. AND their prices are reasonable. This food is absolutely delicious! I usually go for the margaritas, which are exceptional, with just enough alcohol to make you feel great! I had the tilapia cancun, OMG, the flavors just popped when you took each bite. It was seasoned to perfection. I loved the veggies that came with this entree. It was a large portion, so I was able to enjoy this meal all over again the next day, it reheated very well. The service was great, considering it was very busy. Terrible Service 3:30 pm I thought wow what a wonderful idea. I have a Mexican restaurant next to Dobbs where I was getting my car serviced. So I walked up, went and sat at the bar, watching people all around me. Another couple at the bar had been there for a while. I ended up sitting there 15 minutes before a waitress brings a menu and silverware. Five more minutes before anybody come up and ask what I wanted to drink. I gave him my order which was a margarita and he proceeds to walk back to the back and get on the phone stood there for another five minutes before he even picked up a glass. First, the family got their water. After 5 minutes, their waiter checked on them and they immediately received their margaritas. We were still there watching if we will get any service but no. We were prepared for a 30 minute wait from the looks outside so were happily surprised. A huge menu with many combinations as well as lunch specials. We love the food here and the service is wonderful but I went here with my husband and daughter today and when we got our $60 bill I noticed they added on a large party fee of a 20% tip. Assuming they do this a lot. Always check your bill so you don't over tip the service. These fees are not supposed to be added on unless you have a party bigger than 6. read more

Came here for the first time on a Saturday night. Restaurant was busy but not too packed consider my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant appeared to be very clean and up to date. The atmosphere was really nice, I felt like I was actually eating at a Mexican restaurant. The staff was very friendly and prompt!
