When we bought our home we were informed by the seller that the chimney was "inoperable", and at…read moreleast needed a missing damper replaced, so we contacted a couple of companies to get estimates of repair needs and cost. While another, more high-tech company was thorough in examining our chimney, etc. (an examination which cost us over $100) and came in with a repair estimate of roughly $7000, Crestwood examined our chimney thoroughly, explained what Kentucky standards were, and what needed to be done to make our chimney both safe and operable. Total repairs, including the new damper, came to less than $700. He was kind, efficient, masked and knowledgable, and now we have a working fireplace for when the seasons turn cold.

When we first bought the fireplace insert they were great to deal with. We really like the insert,…read morealthough it was not inexpensive. However, post-sales service is another story. We had them come out to clean the chimney per their recommendation, and to inspect the fireplace. When they left, in April of 2020, we noticed a slight lean to the chimney topper. We didn't think much of it at the time, but over the next several months it got worse. We made several phone calls which were not returned. When 4 months later we finally got through to them and explained the issue, we were told that they would 'be right out'. That was back in October. Here it is January 2021 and the topper is leaning even more, and there is no sign of them coming out to fix the problem they caused when cleaning the chimney. They seem nice, but no followup. It's a shame, but with better post-sale service this could have been an 5-star review.

This is the second major…read moreproject DB has done for us, and the second one where there WAS NOT ONE PROBLEM FOR US during the project. The first was a partial bathroom renovation, which included tearing out and replacing a master bath shower that had leaked for years, with the addition of a skylight in the shower. I needed to stay in my master bedroom while the work was being done, and DB was very careful to leave everything tidy at the end of the day so I could live in the construction zone. The workmanship was flawless. Three years later, it looks as good as the day it was finished. The kitchen project was a complete gut, with an expansion to encompass what had been a porch, and the addition of a new porch. The house was built in 1926, and keeping the original look was important to us. We also had a limited amount of space in which to work. DB came up with a design to maximize storage and utility in a modest space. They carefully removed the old brick and reused it, so the addition is seamless. The original built-in oak icebox was removed, refurbished, and re-purposed as a focal cabinet. The custom cabinetry was designed to mimic the original cabinetry which was too worn to salvage. As expected after the first project, the workmanship is beautiful. We couldn't move out during the construction, so neatness counted. The workspace was cleaned every day so that we never felt overwhelmed by the construction mess. We worked with the owner and a 2-person crew, who we got to know well over the course of the construction. We knew our home was safe in their hands, and that they employed trustworthy subs. And, when the need arose due to medical issues, DB brought food and mowed our lawn. We actually miss them now that the job is finished! THANK YOU, DB!!

My clog was found quickly and cleaned even faster. It was raining heavily and they were up on my roof in it fixing my issues.
