Horrible service. I had this company come out to clean my chimney sweep on my roof and the pipe going into my house to my wood stove. I haven't used my wood stove since then. I hired a handyman to take pictures of the outside vent on my roof for my wood stove because you could see the build up of creosote on the vent stack that was left there from the worker that was hired to clean it off, when I haven't used this wood stove since October of 2025. I called the office several months ago to try and get a picture showing what the technician did on my roof, relative to cleaning the vent. I never received the picture even after complaining about the report the company sent. Don't hire these people. This company will rip you off and not clean the outside stack of the fireplace vent. read more

Please beware of Chimney Doctors, especially the service technician Adam. Chimney Doctors was hired to clean and inspect my elderly mothers rental property and Adam tried to take advantage of her. The home is very old, built before 1950. Adam tried to scare my mother and verbally told her if she did not bring the chimneys and fireplaces up to current code that the fireplaces could not be burned in and if there was a house fire, the insurance company would not pay on her claim and it would be a total loss for her. We only found out that this is NOT TRUE after the Jeffco County inspector came to inspect her new roof. Adam outright lied in order to persuade an unsuspecting, trusting elderly person to spend over 40k for upgrades. Shame on you Adam. read more

Pretty disappointing experience, twice. The first time I went in the lady made me feel hurried while I was trying to figure out which way to go with a new stove so, I ended up going to the internet to buy even though I always support local brick and mortar first. The second time, I went in to buy a small part and she (same lady) tried charging me $99.16 for a part that retails for $39. She said that the suppliers uped the prices but come to find out, it was just her and this company. I ended up buying it for $40 from another supplier because it was obvious she was trying to take advantage of the situation. It was upsetting enough for me to login and write this review and give a low star rating (which if you look at my history, I have only done one other time). So, just be aware of and do some shopping before you buy to make sure they dont take advantage of you. read more

We originally called to have two chimneys swept as well as the dryer vent. After the inspections of all of it, one chimney was swept and the rest taken off the bill. This was due to the fact that the second stove downstairs was not safe and needed to be removed. Well, we looked at new replacement stoves and picked one sized for our house and they were able to reuse the stack from the old stove saving us hundreds of dollars. The day of the install, Matt and Shawn came over and they worked very hard to get everything installed correctly and since we moved the stove to the other side of the room, even patched the hole from the old stack and insulated it. It took them all day, but the install and then instructions on how to safely use the stove was done in such a professional manner that I wished to give them 10 stars. Matt and Shawn are your go to guys if you use them. Shawn is one of the most hard working people I have ever seen. I would love to hire him for outside jobs. read more

Well, I wasn't coming here to check out the reviews initially, only to look up the phone number for The Chimney Doctors (Matt and Chrystal) so that I could arrange a chimney sweeping this Spring on a wood burning stove installation that they did for us last year. Then, I saw the terrible review posted by someone else and I simply couldn't believe my eyes. I just had to respond because everything he said was completely contrary to our experience and that of everyone else I've spoken to about this company. Matt and Chrystal are top notch folks who do excellent work. After getting several recommendations from other customers, we chose them to install our new wood stove in our home in Bailey. Matt and his helper were timely, professional and extremely knowledgable. Our installation was not what I would consider an easy one, because we have very high ceilings and a steep roof angle. He never flinched, though, and suggested a different installation location that was probably even more difficult than what we had initially imagined, but it was much better in every way. The finished product was simply stunning! Afterward, he cleaned up so that I couldn't even tell he had been there at all. Following his instructions, we experienced absolutely zero problems in operating our beautiful new stove and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs an installation or service. And no, I am not 'related' to these people, as insinuated by the previous reviewer (I question whether that guy might, in fact work for a competitor). These guys came in right after we bought our house for a cleaning and stove/chimney check up. They said the chimney and liner was fine but we needed a new wood burning stove which was evident even to my 10 year old son. We just got on the roof to measure for the new liner and low and behold, they never even cleaned the chimney or existing liner. 2 - 2.5 inches of creosote and ash at the top and it gets worse as it get close to the wood burning stove.....that we have never burned since the supposed cleaning. It seems all they did was vacuum the stove. These guys said we could have a fire if we wanted to...apparently if we wanted to burn the house down. They seemed like real nice guys but I would not trust this company with my life or yours........ read more

I have had Chimney Doctors come out to my home in the past and I had never had an issue with their pricing....till now! In the past I paid about $200 to have the chimney cleaned, inspected and even had them replace stones inside the fireplace. So what happened today I never expected. I had called on the 20th to get a cleaning because I had some residual smoke coming back into the home from the stove, I new I had creosol build up as a result, and normally I would have taken care of this myself like I did in the beginning of the burning season. The 2 man team came out and spent almost an hour cleaning the pipes. Besides the muddy boots all over the house, nothing was out of the ordinary, that is until the bill was sent to me. They charged me $309.00 for an hour of work to clean the pipes (18 ft exterior pipe). I called them immediately to question it and they said that I should have asked them for a price in advance! I was amazed that I would have to ask if I was going to be gouged for an hours worth of work. All I got from them was I should have known. I guess next time I call a business I need to ask them how many hundreds of dollars they are going to charge me for an hours worth of work. I decided to have these guys do our annual chimney cleaning because I was at the home of another customer and what happened there. The lady there was going ballistic because a wood stove fireplace insert she had bought was going to cost way more to install than she thought. They remained incredibly calm throughout this tirade, admitted their mistake in measuring,and ate the cost of the additional work, which involved rebuilding her existing hearth so the new stove would fit. They came to our home, arrived on time, were very courteous and thoroughly cleaned up the mess that this work involves. Price was comparable to the sweeps we used before. My experiences with Chimney Doctors of Colorado are among the worst I have ever had in ANY in-home service. I have a weekend home in the Fairplay area, and on my most recent experience, only because there are not that many companies up there, I scheduled a wood stove repair with Chimney Doctors. Early in the week of the appointment, they called back and asked if they could change the time for better scheduling on their end. I agreed with their request, then drove two hours from Denver up on the day that they had moved my appointment to 3PM. Well, 3PM came and went, and I called them at 5PM to see where their service tech was. The business was closed at that point, so I left a message The following morning, they called to say that it had been a scheduling mistake on their end. By this time, I needed to be back in Denver so I was already driving two hours back to my main home there. The summary of this story? THEY DO NOT SHOW UP for their scheduled appointments have ZERO RESPECT for their customer's time. In the end, I drove four hours for nothing! My recommendation? Do business with ANYONE BUT this company! They have terrible customer service and in previous experiences I believe that the work they performed in my home wasn't done properly or completely. AVOID CHIMNEY DOCTORS AT ALL COSTS! They are a horrible local business!! read more

These guys are simply hands down THE WORST! "Matt the certified owner" after inspecting the job and ordering parts failed to install a new chimney cap while doing a new installation causing me to be smoked out of my house less than one month after the work was complete. Then the owners wife "Crystal" insisted this had to be my fault stating "You must be burning wet wood". This is NOT my first fireplace and I use the same moisture meter that qualified chimney sweeps use to test all of my wood. I never burn anything with a moisture reading higher than 3%. I then had the service tech from the fireplace company come down to inspect the situation to verify what I already knew. The next issue is they didn't even have updated insurance info listed with the place of purchase. As for the review done by "Kevin B", you must be a relative or the only lout employee of this dangerously worthless company. Can't really give a review of their work as no one showed up for the appointment we scheduled to have chimney in our new home inspected/swept over a month in advance. When we called to inquire if they were running behind and when to expect their arrival we were simply told something came up and it would be a month before they could get out to our job. 1/13/2017 First thing out of the techs mouth when they got here were several rude comments: "don't you know it is winter and we are cleaning your stoves again?" I corrected the tech and said we just moved in and I have never made an appointment with anyone before for any of the stoves. 1/13/2017 Chimney Doctors came to clean my 1.pellet stove and 2. wood stove for $466. The receptionist said cleaning meant they cleaned the flues and the stoves. Fan snap disk needed to be replaced - replaced with a 120 instead of 200 -quoted $12, paid $15 but they had no change so they kept the change. Within a few weeks the wood stove was smoking so badly we had to stop using it. Chimney Doctors receptionist Lauren said it was due to old stove and apply with American Lung Association for a Wood stove exchange. I did my research on Youtube on why wood stoves smoke so bad. I called to make another appointment with another chimney company for a 2nd opinion. Another chimney company came out and said the pellet stove or wood stove flues were not cleaned at all! Chimney Doctors had only vacuumed the stoves. Chimney Doctors also assessed that the motherboard on the pellet stove needed to be replaced. 1/23/2017 paid Chimney Doctors $327.97 for motherboard and installation fee. After 3 weeks - Chimney Doctors came back out to install the mother board and put in correct 200 fan snap disk and to collect another $10 for the fan snap disk. Kept old motherboard. The Chimney Doctors techs laid sheets to walk on from the entrance to the stoves but they did not stay on the sheets, they walked on the carpet and floors, had no regard or respect for my house! Chimney Doctors tech. backed out of my driveway and got stuck, it took them about 20 minutes to get out of my driveway. During the 20 minutes they destroyed my driveway! Poor customer service, not clean, overpaid for the services that did not happen, bad attitudes, poor communication and destroyed driveway on my property. I would not have reviewed this company but the 2nd opinion from another Chimney company and what they found infuriated me. Chimney Doctors blatantly stealing from me should be disgusted with themselves. read more

The end result was more than we ever imagined. The fireplace looked like it was always there. It was sleek, stylish and efficient. The masonry and rock was exquisitely planned and installed. The men were respectful of our home and we never saw one speck of dust or any disorder. The men cleaned up everyday, making our project not disruptive at all.
