However, recently I learned Dermatology Consultants doesn't bill for preventative anymore. In the past annual melanoma skin exams were billed as preventative and $0 through insurance. This change alone doesn't warrant a bad rating - but the reason I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 stars is some of the staff still will still tell you that most insurance will bill $0 for one annual melanoma skin exam. Will be trying someplace else for preventative work - but still a fan of Dermatology Consultants. [Original Review] Scheduled a preventative 'Full Body Exam' of melanoma in April 2026, but was submitted to insurance as a typical office appointment 'Office O/p Est 30 Min'. The headspa treatment itself was like the best parts of having someone shampoo/condition your hair as well as giving a head, neck and shoulder massage. Afterwards your hair is toweled dry and you're able to blowdry your hair yourself with their hairdryer. They also have combs, brushes, shower caps, hair ties, mousse and hair spray available for use.

She performed the procedure in literally 15 seconds. No care talen whatsoever. It looked like a dog bit a piece of my arm. Totally unnecessary for a tiny non cancerous moe. Her goal was to be done as soon as possible. I could not see what was being done to even object. Every day I see the scar and remember the experience and I am frustrated and full of regret. A year later the scar is red and raised and ugly, no other provider has been so careless and damaging to my skin before. Please don't go here.

My final call the staff member even said, "I remember you, yes we do the blocks." When I arrived, the front door was locked. After waiting, a staff member opened it without greeting and walked away, which felt dismissive and unwelcoming. Inside, I was told to complete paperwork I had already submitted. When I asked for clarification on questions that should be evaluated by a provider, such as facial asymmetry, I was told they were "questions for me," which is not appropriate in a medical setting. I also explained that I have a history of vasovagal response to pain. This was met with blank, dismissive stares, which was concerning. When I brought up the dental block I had confirmed multiple times prior to my appointment, the staff appeared unfamiliar and responded dismissively. There was no effort to clarify, offer alternatives, or make me feel comfortable. At no point did I interact with an actual provider, only two staff members, which added to my lack of confidence. Between the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and overall experience, I chose to leave without receiving treatment. Based on the injector's own lip results, which were not subtle, I wasn't confident in the aesthetic approach of the practice. **UPDATE** After posting my original review above, the owner of VC Esthetics personally called me and explained that they do have a nurse who performs dental blocks and could accommodate me if I returned. I removed my review on my own because I understand the impact negative reviews can have on a small business. I genuinely wanted to give them another chance. I waited over a month for that nurse, took additional time off work, and returned hoping for a better experience. When I arrived, the front door was propped open with a cinder block.... and I was again asked to complete paperwork I had already filled out multiple times. The nurse briefly approached me without introducing herself and said she needed to finish with another patient first. I was understanding because delays happen. After waiting, I was taken to a treatment room where the nurse came in did not look me in the eyes to address me, but instead fumbled through cabinets and I couldn't understand what she was saying. As more time passed, the front desk person apologized and assured me the nurse would be with me shortly. By 2:00 PM, an hour after my scheduled 1:00 PM appointment, I was told the nurse was still with another patient and also needed to make a phone call before seeing me. At that point, I left. What made this especially disappointing was that I had already had a negative first experience, removed my review in good faith, waited over a month for this appointment, and taken additional time off work to return. I was specifically there because I required a dental block, which itself takes time to become effective. At no point did anyone attempt to begin that process or communicate a clear plan while I sat waiting. It wasn't until after I left that the nurse felt it was important to speak with me directly. She explained that they prefer to take their time with each patient to ensure good results. At that point, it felt less like patient care and more like damage control. Taking time with patients is understandable and appreciated. The issue is scheduling appropriately, communicating clearly, and respecting every patient's time. This was not one isolated misunderstanding. It was multiple experiences involving poor communication, disorganization, lack of professionalism, and disregard for my time as a patient and person. I genuinely wanted the second experience to go differently, but unfortunately it did not. For that reason, I would not return to VC Esthetics, and I would not recommend the practice to anyone.

He was so gracious and took excellent professional care of me. He called me at my home to make sure I was doing well. I felt they should have discounted that procedure or do something for all the money I paid the first go around. He claimed I had scare tissue and that is why the initial surgery didn't work. He did not mention any scar tissue once he performed the first surgery. I feel like he could have worked with me. Even though I spoke with office manager. Still they did nothing for me. I left spending a lot of money with no difference and no compensation. Be careful going here. Supposedly he does this surgery all day.
