Zero stars if possible!!! Went to China Bowl in South Gate and apparently our food came with a complimentary side of Laura's attitude. The food was one thing, but the service was the real disappointment. Laura was extremely unpleasant and had a terrible attitude, especially toward my wife. There's absolutely no reason to treat customers that way. We came in hungry and ready to enjoy some food--not audition for an episode of Survivor: Customer Service Edition. Hopefully management can remind the staff that being respectful and welcoming goes a long way. We'll spend our money somewhere we actually feel appreciated next time!!! read more

The food here is delicious and the portions are always very generous, but the lady who typically serves the food yelled at my boyfriend because of a misunderstanding with ordering. He was calmly trying to explain the misunderstanding (he wanted a lunch plate for $10, but she served him orange chicken entrees for $30), but she caused a scene and he left feeling a bit upset. He used to love coming here as much as I do, but he told me he doesn't feel comfortable coming anymore after her outburst. He said he felt like it was a language barrier issue (my boyfriend is Chinese-American so he was being extra patient), but she took it to a whole other level. Maybe she was having a bad day? However, that's NOT okay or an excuse for disrespectful behavior, and no one has the right to start screaming like a banshee at someone else just because of that. I love coming here whether for Chinese food, Hawaiian food, or boba, but I won't be back for a while if ever because I don't appreciate someone giving my boyfriend attitude for an easy fix when she is the one who made the mistake to begin with. Absolutely love the jalapeńo chicken & chow mein. The portions are huge and very generous, they are not like other places where they count the portions. Good place if you want it to go. We dined in this place today and it was horrible. The siracha is mixed with this other liquid which makes it runny which is just horrible we. The Chile that they have which is tapatío is just awful the color is wrong, it's mixed in with something else aswell it's like a brown color and watery too. Now a rating on the food. The spicy orange chicken is not spicy first of all, second when you take a bite it's just all breading like what type of sh*t is this, there's the name chicken in there but where is the chicken when you take a bite. The chow mein is just horrible. It has no seasoning no where. It's taste blank. The bbq pork has so much fatting it's just grate like I didn't ask for bbq fat .
