This place was highly recommended so I had to try it and I was extremely disappointed! The service was ok not great not bad but mid the gentleman didn't greet me just gave me a strange look until I stated ordering than the polite button switch came on. The food was terrible I got combo A which consist of fried rice & chow mein and 1 entree, I went with pure chow mein & mushroom chicken, the chow mein was old and stale and extremely salty, the mushroom chicken same thing was old and salty I literally took 2 bites when I had got home with it and just threw it away. The restaurant its self was very cluttered and dirty and didn't seem like a place you would want to sit down at and eat! Little Spot in the wall , with the best shrimp fried rice I've ever tasted ! It cost $13 but I was well worth it , it was for almost 2 people . Everything was on point like a shrimp fried rice should be , they're generous with the shrimp portion , the shrimp well just right , not soggy . What got me what's all the egg they put in it !! Inedible. Ordered the Three item combo from DoorDash... The plate arrived and they literally piled everything on top of itself so I had this plate held together with a rubber band. Could you perhaps put the third item in an individual plate? Would that really be too hard? It was just awful. I sort of enjoyed the dry fried rice and the pork eggrolls were tasty. But the orange chicken was way over cooked and sweet with zero orange flavor at all... And the barbecue pork had so much fat on it it was really bad. What a huge amount of money I wasted. First and last time I eat here. Felt like Chinese and stopped here because of the yelp ratings. Big disappointment. They ran out of spicy orange chicken and was told it would be a 15 minute wait. How do you run out of a popular dish during dinner rush. Anyways, went with the regular orange chicken and beef/broccoli. Only 1out of four orange chicken pieces had any chicken, all flour. Gotta be one of the best food shops in South Gate. The service is great. It's a small family owned business and their hospitality is great just like their food. I'm no expert in Chinese food but I sure love this place. Great food, great prices, great people. It's a small shop so don't expect a fine dine in but it's a good spot to grab a quick bite, or for take out to enjoy at home. Love that they got Mexican style glass bottle cokes. I'm a sucker for those. They also have fountain drinks and a variety of bottled and canned beverages so you'll have a lot to choose from. We drive 15+ mins to this particular restaurant. Truly the best Chinese food in town. They are family owned and operated business, their customer service is impeccable! They truly give you your monies worth! It's a to-go spot so no sitting area which I am sure I would enjoy more, but hey it is what it is. Their kung pao chicken is delicious, chao mein and fried rice is also top tier. Their boba is good but of course not their forte, so don't go in here expecting the best boba in town. This place has the BEST shrimp fried rice!!! Whenever I'm working in the area I always have to stop by and get my shrimp fried rice fix. I've tried many other places but haven't found anything that can even compare to their shrimp fried rice. They always greet me with a smile and ask if I want my usual. In my opinion, the food was simple. The orange chicken was soft and not crunchy like most places. The beef and broccoli was okay but I wasn't a fan of it. It doesn't really have flavor to it. Update/ new review: they have a seafood soup. Awesome. It has a little bit of everything. For the price, you can't go wrong. It's super filling. Second, their Mongolian beef is again, excellent. Super soft, velvety pieces of meat. I like mine extra spicy, no celery. They are super accommodating with your special orders.
