My first time here. At first I was impressed with their customer service until. I had place and order to go and was seating on one of their booths waiting for my food. They don't have a waiting area with chairs. More people started coming in as I was waiting and the lady at the register made me get up so she can have a couple seat where I was seating. I ordered the coconut soup and asked for combination of shrimp and chicken. The price for a large was ridiculous, but I figured it must be good. I also asked for the chicken skewers which were listed on their appetizers but again the price was very high. Then I also ordered the chicken skewers from the appetizer menu, again the price was high but I figured it should be worth it. The skewers were definitely not worth it. They were dry and lacked any flavor. The soup, the broth base coconut was amazing, it was savory and rich. Besides that I can't give it anymore kudos. The chicken and shrimp was ok but it didn't come with anything else in the soup besides mushrooms. I've been to other Thai restaurants where this soup has bits of water chestnuts, lemongrass, pea pods and other vegetables. Now this this soup was like that I wouldn't have anything but rave reviews because I specifically went to this place just for the soup, and was greatly disappointed. Went in today when i found out they reopened and got all my favorites to see if it all tastes the way I remembered and honestly it tasted as amazing as before!! I definitely recommend number #46 spicy rice noodles, #50 pineapple fried rice, and #51 spicy fried rice. They have an abundance of flavor and arent just spicy food its like a song in your mouth just flavortown with every bite! The staff is so nice and helpful and just smiles all around and seeing the place packed with families made the trip so worth it because you know its great food when you pull up with your whole family to eat. The food was underwhelming. Nothing worth coming again for. It was very busy and I can tell the owner (tall man, lighter skin w a mustache) was being hostile towards the kitchen and server. I felt terrible for her. We asked for Thai tea no boba and although she brought it out w boba we still drank it because we didn't wanna bother her. I felt terrible, there was a point where she (the server) was on the phone with someone getting a call about an order and he literally grabbed the phone from her ear so aggressively. He was helping serve the plates and giving the customers warmth but honestly treating employees like that is a good enough reason for me never to eat a place again. I do not support that behavior. The food was also nothing out of the ordinary. They did have a special where you can order a seafood soup, pad thai, and fried rice for 39.95. Our order came out to $60 though whatever the math was there. We did get Thai teas as well. The pad Thai was the best thing and even then it wasn't extraordinary. The rice had a funky taste like when food is starting to go bad and wasn't necessarily pungent but you know when you make rice and leave it out of the fridge it gets a distinct smell/taste. That's what that was like. The soup was alright, we ordered spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. The broth was too clear but I am a soup lover so I just added some spice and still had at some. Great delivery packaging. Quick delivery. Piping hot food. Everything was tasty. We got the Lard Na Noodle with pork. The Chinese broccoli was so delicious along with that gravy sauce. Red curry with beef. Beef was tender and curry was mild. Next time I will see if I can request spicy. Final item we got was the tofu with mushroom and bamboo shoots. Thai Tea: Don't know if its an addiction but one is never enough, even worse if it taste soooooo good! Hate that its bottomless refills... lol Pad Thai: Have to say it better tasting than Jade Siam... sorry! If you want the best tasting Pad Thai order it SPICY with both chicken and shrimp. Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice: Pretty good but not spicy enough to make your nose runny, so if you want it more spicy you have to ask for more spice. I wanted to introduce colleagues to Thai food as they had never tried it before. I yelped for Thai places around and to my surprise there were quite a few Thai restaurants in this area. We settled on this as colleague remembered that there was a parking lot behind Gage Center. We ordered the following: Satay Chicken Shrimp Fried Rice Spicy beef Pad Si-Ew Regular Beef Pad Si-Ew Fried Fish Pineapple Green Tea smoothie w/ Boba Total with tip came to $64.83 Pros: 1) Food was extremely delicious. Spice levels were adequate in the noodles and the dish had a nice kick to it. 2) Pineapple Green Tea smoothie was the bomb according to one of the colleagues 3) One of my other colleagues who doesnt experiment with food also found the fried rice and satay chicken to his liking. *This joint had Satay Chicken made unlike all the other Thai restaurants. It felt more like a tandoor chicken with a Mexican twist to it than a Thai dish, in a very good way* 4) Portions were generous for the price. 5) There were several phone order pickups while we were dining. Food was being prepared and made ready at a very fast pace to patrons. Cons: 1) The restaurant had games etc. in the seating area. This felt more like an all in one cafe than an actual sit in restaurant. This could be a pro or a con, as you can purchase a lottery ticket while eating. How cool is that? (-1) Needless to say, I have both of my colleagues hooked to Thai food. One of them visited Renu Nakorn in Norwalk twice in the past 2 weeks already. This is grungy Thai food at its best. What do I mean by grungy? The building looks run down and the interior of the restaurant looks like a recently converted from a liquor store. They have lottery ticket dispensers at the register and a glass case usually used for displaying tobacco products. Decor aside, the food is amazing. I ordered a pad thai, chicken satay and a Thai ice tea. My pad thai was sweet, tangy and had just the right balance of earthy textures from the veggies and umami from the meat and noodles. The chicken satay was perfected grilled, tender and came with an amazing peanut sauce and sweet cucumbers. I almost drank the peanut sauce by itself. It tasted freshly made. Tasty indeed! I love that they have a fish tank with two big guoramis living inside. If you are in the area, definitely give this place a try. At work we normally order Thai food from Jade Siem, but on this particular day I felt like we should change it up a bit and decided to order from Tasty Thai. We ordered from a menu we had from the last time my coworker had ordered with them which was not that long ago. I ordered shrimp pad Thai, and we also ordered chop suey, chicken pad see ew, and 2 Thai iced teas. They failed to tell us the total price of the order on the phone and only told us 30 mins for delivery and hung up, because they were busy. We tried to call back and get the total, but since they didn't answer we figured it's ok we've ordered with them before let's just add up the total. When we went to the lobby to pick up our order we were quite shocked at how long it took and how the entire bill turned out to be $15 dollars more than we had expected. Apparently they had recently raised all of the prices on their menu and we were not informed of that. I wouldn't have minded so much if they told us the total on the phone or answered our phone calls when we tried to call back and get a total from them. I actually really liked the food, so I was pretty disappointed that their service is bad and that they do not update their menu prices or inform their customers of price increases. It's a huge inconvenience for us especially when we we're ordering with a group of people and have to tell everyone that the food was actually more expensive than we thought. So yea Tasty Thai gets 2.5 stars, and please update your menu prices and deliver faster next time. read more

My girlfriend told me about a bomb a$$ Thai place that she had been too and when she told me it was in HP I couldn't believe it. There are a bunch of Chinese fast food restaurants around the hood so I thought, how good could this place be? Very good is the answer to that. They have a couple of different lunch specials so if you don't want the family style portions you can opt out for one of those options. We decided to go with the spicy shrimp fried rice, chicken skewers and some good ol' chicken pad tai. The portions were very generous and the food was delicious. The spicy fried rice could have been spicier and they could have provided more than 5 shrimp, but the shrimps were little chunkers and not cup-o-noodle size haha. The pad tai was really good and it came with bean sprouts and carrots. I really liked that the dish didn't have a tone of green onions pieces in the dish. I love me some green onions, but sometimes it can get a little excessive. The chicken skewers were really good, juicy and the peanut dipping sauce that they provided with the dish should be mass produced. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Thai food and doesn't want to go to the places in/around DTLA. PS: The Thai tea is really good. read more

Ordered grubhub, came so fast I was shocked to get the call. I ordered the pad see ew with chinese broccoli and tofu (I almost didnt because of a very childish review) but I'm so glad I did!! Noodles weren't clumped, the sauce was lightly sweet and just enough, the chinese broccoli added just a hint of bitterness so the dish was very well rounded. My boyfriend ordered the pad thai, his only gripe was that there were "wayyy too many bean sprouts" but other than that it was delicious. Normally I wouldn't get thai food from a local spot because locals don't know how to make Thai food here in Huntington Park. Unfortunately, this is the only spot close by that delivers Uber Eats. This place was no exception to the rule. We ordered two dishes. The Pad Thai was not terrible, but not Thai food. I might order it again, but it was really lacking in tamarind flavor. The Panang curry, another favorite of ours, was possibly the worst variation of Thai curry I've had. It was strong on cumin flavor and had almost no coconut milk flavor. It had a very dark color and was grainy like there was a heavy amount of powders that were boiled with water. I couldn't even tell if they had used a water base or a coconut milk base to make it but this was not Thai food. Pretty dissapointing especially for 12 dollar entrees. This area still cannot do Asian food. We were lucky to finally get a halfway decent sushi spot (BLue Fish) but aside from that it's a bad food scene here. read more

And the rice that came with it was a bit hard, but I'll let that pass. The Pad Sew Yee had the wrong fat noodles; they used a Chinese kind, which was okay I guess, but I was looking forward to the fat noodles. And they gave about 5 pieces of shrimp, which I normally wouldn't mind if the flavor was more outstanding. And, I found an EGGSHELL in my noodles........ boy.
