This little gem of a "building" can be rented for your WEDDING or other SPECIAL EVENT or MEETING. The CHINA CABIN was originally the first class SOCIAL SALOON from the top deck of the SS China, a SIDEWHEEL STEAMER that traveled from San Francisco to the Far East for about twenty years in the late 1800s. In 1886, when the wooden hulled steamer was no longer operational, the SOCIAL SALOON was salvaged before the steamer was burned for scrap metal. It was placed on pilings between the Tiburon Peninsula and Belvedere Island and named the China Cabin. For a number of years it was a weekend private residence. In 1978 it was designated as a NATIONAL MARITIME TREASURE and restored to its former splendor as a Victorian drawing room. Today it is owned and managed by the Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society. It is rented out for special events and is especially popular for wedding receptions and small dinner parties. The interior of the China Cabin was restored to its former elegance with a curved ceiling, chandeliers, small etched glass windows and carved woodwork that is painted white and highlighted in gold leaf. A beautiful wooden dance floor makes it a perfect place for a small wedding reception. It has decks on three sides with glorious views of the SAN FRANCISCO SKYLINE and nearby yacht moorings. I attended a small Cast & Crew Party here recently. It was like stepping into another century - a past time of victorian elegence. It easily accommodated 30-40 guests for this little wine and cheese affair. I believe it would hold at least 50+ guests without feeling too crowded. Check the website for capacity limits. The China Cabin is open to visitors from April to October on Sundays and Wednesdays from 1 - 4 PM. Appointments to view the China Cabin to rent it for Special Events can be made by contacting the Landmarks office at 415-435-1853 or at their website: www.landmarks-society.org This little SOCIAL SALOON is one of the GEMS of the San Francisco Bay area. Everyone who lives here should see this historic "building" at least once. Don't come to the Belvedere-Tiburon communities without checking it out. It is right on Beach Road, about a block from downtown Main Street - - easy walking distance from the ferry.

Spectacular venue on the water with an interior that is breathtaking. It only fits 40 inside but those 40 people will have an amazing time!

Hiring Alison Events was hands-down the BEST decision we made during the entire wedding planning…read moreprocess. We worked closely with Alison, Danielle, and Lauren over the course of a year and a half, and from start to finish, they were creative, calm, detail-obsessed, and just genuinely lovely human beings. They brought our vision to life in ways we couldn't have imagined. Every detail felt intentional and deeply personal, and somehow, the entire weekend felt both elevated and effortless. Our wedding was FLAWLESS. Coming from two people who weren't even sure we wanted a wedding, we were blown away by how much FUN we had. We can't stop gushing about it. Our guests are still telling us it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to. A special shoutout to Alisha, our day-of coordinator and real-life fairy godmother. She made everything on the bride side run seamlessly and was truly everywhere at once. From logistics to emotional support, she had me covered. I don't know what I would've done without her. Alison Events isn't just a wedding planner. They're a creative partner, a team of steady hands, and at times, our therapist through a very real and occasionally overwhelming process. If you're lucky enough to work with them, trust them completely. They are actual magic.

My (now) husband and I were…read morekind of the disaster clients when we first came to them: we wanted to plan a wedding in 4 months, couldn't decide where we wanted to do it, how big we wanted it or what exactly we wanted, thought we wanted to do wine country only to decide we wanted Hawaii, picked a venue that was somewhat tough to work with (Jesse and Andrea charmed the venue folks though and they ended up great)...the list goes on. On top of it, we thought we were laid-back/go with the flow people, but I'm pretty sure I should concede to being a control freak at this point in my life. I still don't know how they pulled off what they did, but they made our wedding absolutely amazing, and somehow made even the planning process pretty stress free (not easy to do when you decide to do a destination wedding 3-4 months out). The team truly delivers from every angle - style, creativity, efficiency, effectiveness - they helped us figure out what we wanted and were realistic with us about what what was doable. During our event, they managed everything down to a T, and did everything in their power to make it an incredible experience. After they saw I wasn't totally thrilled with the bouquet the florist brought (it was kind of giant), Jesse magically reworked the bouquet in the minutes before the ceremony to make it perfect. And they just bring joy and warmth to the whole thing. I now wish I had spent a whole year planning our wedding just so I could have spent more time with Jesse and Andrea (I basically begged them to be my friends in real life after it was all over). If you have a chance to work with AE, do it. There is a reason they have an international reputation - they are absolutely the best of the best.

Flabbergasted by all these 5 star reviews...? I've been to many Playland's in the greater Bay Area…read moreand I have to be brutally honest, this Playland in Sausalito, California is by far the worst. I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Do I recommend, No.

Eria Sausalito - Waterfront wedding experience

I know I've left a lot of positive reviews for ERIA over the years, but they continue to impress…read moreme. Recently, a close friend of mine was looking for a wedding venue, and I immediately recommended ERIA. They ended up having their ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, followed by their after party at ERIA's new Marina location. It was such a fun way to celebrate because after the reception we walked over to Bar Darling, and the catering came from Little Original Joe's. The whole evening really embraced the city, and it felt like guests got to experience San Francisco rather than just attend a wedding. The team also added so many thoughtful touches that made the night feel special. They had cookies from the upcoming La Boulange Bakery pop up as a late night treat, which everyone loved, and they even arranged for a photo booth that was a huge hit. My friends couldn't stop talking about how well everything came together, and I was secretly thrilled that my recommendation worked out so well. The next morning we headed to Sausalito for brunch at Cultivar, which was fantastic and somewhere I hadn't been before. From there we made our way to ERIA's waterfront venue, which is just as stunning as ever. They projected home videos onto a screen overlooking the water, everyone gathered with sparklers, and the whole evening felt incredibly intimate and memorable. It was such a beautiful contrast to the energy of the city the night before. One of the things I loved most about the weekend was getting to experience both locations. The Marina gave us the excitement and nightlife of San Francisco, while Sausalito offered the peaceful waterfront setting that made the celebration feel completely different. Having both experiences in one wedding weekend made it feel incredibly unique. I've been to ERIA many times now, and every event somehow feels different while maintaining the same high level of hospitality and attention to detail. If you're looking for a venue that can help create an unforgettable wedding weekend rather than just a single event, I couldn't recommend them more highly.

I recently visited this spot for an event on 4/18/26. And,I really wanted to love this space…read morebecause, at first glance, it IS beautiful. The panoramic views are stunning, and the location--right in the heart of Sausalito--is pretty much perfect. The dance floor was comfortable, the vibe was there, and it felt like it had all the makings of a great event. But here's the ik...... and it's the reason for the 2-star rating. The bathroom situation was beyond unacceptable. We're talking extremely small (only 2 stalls for the women), poorly equipped for the size of the crowd, and within 30 minutes of the event starting, the toilets were already breaking down. Not "a little slow"--completely failing. For an event with 60+ women (and drinks being served for FIVE hours), we were left with essentially ONE working toilet. Diabolical. Uncomfortable. Irritating. And it didn't get better--it got worse. Halfway through the event, the second toilet started to overflow. Yes, overflow. It was nasty, and there was no real resolution or sense of urgency from the venue to fix it. Just... left to deal with it. So while the space is undeniably pretty and well-situated, it is absolutely not equipped to handle a crowd of 125+ people. Not even close. A venue can look amazing, but if basic necessities like functioning restrooms aren't handled--and can't be remedied in real time--it completely takes away from the experience. Beautiful space, but not a place I'd trust for an event of that size again.

Jessica & LaShawna are freaking stars! The planning process was seamless. I was so impressed with the attention to detail at the wedding venue walkthrough. We walked the entire venue, bounced ideas off each other for placement of every single item, and built a schematic. They even measured the venue to know exact placement of tables, chairs, etc. Planning the wedding was so easy/smooth thanks to the planning tools and check ins. Our rehearsal was straight to the point and very easy. We didn't need the full two hours allotted by our venue because they were on top of everything! Then came the wedding day. Our bridal salon overlooked the venue, so we were able to see the progress throughout the day. THEY WORK HARD!! and I mean, they pay attention to every single little detail to make sure the place looks beautiful and perfect. It was so impressive, we all couldn't stop talking about it. The wedding day went seamless, on time, and without a single issue. Jessica and LaShawna were there every step of the way, speaking to each other through their own personal headpieces. She is the definition of caring, reliable, and trustworthy. At any point that my wife and I felt anxious or unsure of something, Lally was there to immediately take care of it and make us feel 1000% more relaxed and excited.
