Small bounce house experience - 4 and 6 year old had a blast.. just enough action. Clean and accessible

Flabbergasted by all these 5 star reviews...? I've been to many Playland's in the greater Bay Area and I have to be brutally honest, this Playland in Sausalito, California is by far the worst. I traveled all the way to Playland Sausalito from the South Bay with my 5 year old son for my cousins 5 year old son's birthday party. Upon exiting and making a left her and a left there I found myself driving through an old, dusty, shoddy, dirt road, with barrack style bungalows up into an old, spooky gymnasium. I'm assuming they're using 'Playland' in the school's old gymnasium. Is the school still open? I do not know, but from the looks of it, I doubt it. Just looked run down and unkept to be actually open on a day-to-day basis. I'm giving Playland Sausalito a 1 star review because mostly everyone from my cousins party ended up catching either the flu or some variation of the stomach bug that's been going on. Depending on if you were an adult or a child that kind of dictated your symptoms. After calling and asking around if anyone else from the party got sick I was not surprised to hear that, yes other people in attendance got sick. In addition to getting sick, the overall venue was kind of run down and seemed like it's on it's last leg. A few inflatables, a few balls to kick around, 2 pop-a-shot basketball hoops (one didn't work), and a cold gloomy atmosphere. Nice! I understand what Playland Sausalito is trying to do in terms of providing a safe fun-filled place for children to have parties and hang out with friends and family but if children and adults are getting sick than that's defeating the purpose. Maybe it was a one time thing or others have gotten sick at this establishment but I think lack of attention to detail, sanitary practices, and overall kind of just a dingy, ordinary, throw a few balls and inflatables in here and call it a 'Playland' is lame and dangerous. Also, when I called Playland to ask a question as to if they are open or not? (says they are closed on Yelp unless it's a private party), the guy that answered the phone said "Hello".. LoL, not "Thank you for calling Playland how can I help you" so I had to ask the guy "Is this Playland?". Not professional dude. In hindsight, as I was oblivious of what was to come the days after the party, I made a comment to my cousin that they were having another party right after us and I didn't see them doing any kind of sanitary wipe downs or anything. Yikes! In conclusion, I probably won't be coming back again and if you were thinking on planning a party for your little one here, I'd look around some more for I'm sure there are other venues that offer more bang for your buck. Best $14 ever spent! It's even a little less expensive for residents of Sausalito! Highly recommend for your toddlers. Parents, grandparents, caregivers are diligent in keeping an eye on their little ones as sometimes the older kids can get a little bossy as kids do. But they also learn in the process. Staff is great and they slow it down with music , balloons and other more quiet activities about midway through the morning. Bounce houses, slide, basketball and toys are terrific, along with the train room. Highly recommend. Get there at 9am and stay till noon. Free Peet's coffee and tea for the grownups. Playland does Birthday Parties, Summer Camps and Classes too. Overall it is a great place to get wiggles out on a rainy cold day. The staff is accommodating and friendly. My son is tired of discovery museum so we decided to try out playland. Arrived right after they open, 12 dollars if you don't live in Sausalito. Basically they turned a basketball court into a play area, with three bounce houses, bunch balls around the court and a small room (200sqf) with some toy train tables. My son had fun, ran around with other kids and jumped a lot. They also offer some programs everyday and the day we went was music class. Staff were very nice and kept an eye on all the kids. We will be back again for sure. read more

Coach Jeremy hosted a flag football party for my sons birthday last weekend. He was great with the kids, came prepared with all the supplies, and was communicative and in touch before the event regarding the details. The kids had a blast, and he brought a football for all the kids to sign for my son as a memento. I would definitely hire him again, and will be checking out his other programs and camps!! read more

We had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here last weekend and what a great experience. When we first arrived there was a mix up with our reservation but the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The owner, Jeremy even came in and personally apologized and set up our party himself. The space is large and has tons of room for kids to run around and plenty of bounce houses and play areas. Adults can sit back and watch the kiddos and they even provide free coffee and balloons! We brought food and drinks for the party and the best part was they did all of the clean up when we were done. Giving it 5 stars because there's no other place like it that I know of and we had a great time. As mentioned in another review, there are huge four jumpy inflatable structures, push cars, a train table, all of which were great for my two-year-old. There was also coffee and a chair to sit on for me. We went on a random day that wasn't rainy, so it wasn't crowded in there at all. If it were crowded, it might be too much for a some 2 y/o's. I think it was well worth the $. Oh, there are big fans going for the bouncy structures, so it's kind of loud with white noise. Just so you know if your kid is sensitive to stuff like that. Mine was a little apprehensive, like walking into a airplane hanger or something, but got over it fast. read more

A good place to bring toddlers and preschoolers to burn off some physical energy. Two adults permitted per paid child. Free hot coffee and tea for the adults. Bathroom with changing table (ladies room--not yet sure of the men's room) and water fountain. I believe there are water and snacks available for purchase, but you can bring your own snacks and drinks inside. There are 4 inflatable jumpers, basketball hoops, cozy coupe cars, and Rody bouncy horses, plus lots of bouncy balls. There's also a room with a smaller plastic slide, a couple train tables, and a coloring table with books and crayons. There's also lots of seating and magazines for adults. They gave balloons to kids as they left. There is no strict supervision so watch your kids. We had to physically stop a couple rowdy kids from playing demolition derby after they smashed into our kid. So just be aware that some parents are better at supervising than others, but that goes with any playground scenario anyway. We'll be returning for sure! read more

all the little kids running around. eweeee. dirty smelly diapers greeted me. rug rats with snotty noses. enough to make me throw up in disgust. oldest child of mine hates the place. youngest child of mine was hit in the face by a child not mine and the child's mommy was apologetic. good place for birthday parties. good place for bratty kids to act out. only brave parents bring their kids to this place. disgusting little brats are sure to have a good time while their parents watch in complete disgust. read more

Unruly kids running amuck and this guy's supposed to be overseeing things: kids blocking the slides, kids going up the slides, kids throwing balls at each other while on the slide, mini basketballs available for the basketball games. Great idea for a rainy day. Only open between 9am - noon, I think it said closed on Wed and Sun. But I'm not sure so I would check their website. $12 for non residents and $10 for Sausalito residents. That pays entry for an adult (maybe two? Again check website) and a child. Free for under 1. They have four bouncy castles (two have slides), a music room (tues and thurs), another small room with trains and area for younger kids (under 2s). Tons of balls, cars and other toys all over the room. It looks like they converted a sports room (basketball court) into a playroom. There was a boy giving out free tattoos too. Such a great idea. They have free coffee and tazo teas for parents. Free balloons for the kids on the way out. read more

My son loves going here on Fridays. He always comes home with a balloon and a temporary tattoo, which he sports with pride. Sometimes he even gets to pet a snake! Highly recommend this fun place. read more

This place is awesome! The little guy I nanny had the time of his life because it has everything he likes: basketballs and bounce houses. We were there for 1 1/2 hours and he had a blast. I like that it's pretty laid back and they don't throw a bunch of rules at you. Just go, jump, play basketball and have fun. Lots of chairs for parents to sit and you can buy snacks if needed (not sure what's available because we didn't buy anything). Would not hesitate to come back! read more

This is a 3 star kind of place. Cavernous. Chaotic. No frills - except for the snake. Our daughter loves it though, so so do we. 4 stars.

We drive all the way from Santa Rosa to play here. My children, ages 6 and 3, LOVE it here. I love it, because they love it, but I also love it, because I can kick my feet up, and catch up on celebrity magazines. :-) They also serve coffee for us moms who haven't had a chance to properly caffeinate for the day. The jumpy houses and slides keep my kiddos so busy, that I don't see them for hours, unless I wander to check up on them and/or they need a drink of water. They get SO sweaty when they play here. They never want to leave. Some reviewers are not happy with the admission price, but I swear I would pay double the price for a few moments of "me" time. I LOVE this place! Now that my son is 3 and doesn't require such constant attention, I truly get time to relax here. He hangs out happily in the "train room" - lots of trains! - and I hang out happily at a nearby table with my free cup of coffee and the magazines that are provided. It seriously is such a great time for me to just catch my breath. There also is an air hockey table with a little stool and we have a great time playing that. There are stools wherever needed, including at the water fountain, and little cubbies for shoes. Details like that make the kids feel at home. It is very clean and just great. LOVE this place!!! My 2 year old daughter had a great time on the bouncy houses, playing on the train tables and singing along to the music class that they offer. The facility is very well kept...organized, spacious and VERY clean. It's also a very nice touch that they offer coffee and tea for the parents. The owner introduced himself and said that he created this awesome spot when he couldn't find a good indoor play area for his 4 year old son. He has done a stellar job with Playland! My daughter left with a temporary butterfly tattoo on her hand and an adorable balloon animal and a HUGE smile on her face! We will definitely be back soon. They also have a nice room that is available to book for parties. I wish we knew about this gem before we had her 2nd Birthday party. read more

We were just fortunate enough to have Jeremy be a facilitator at Munchkinland Preschool and Family Daycare. Every week we have a different preschool theme - this week was hibernation/brumation. I wanted to have a hands-on edutainment experience for our Munchkins, and Jeremy made that happen easy, and entertaining :) Coordinating with him was smooth sailing. He drove to San Francisco, brought all of his animals- and you can tell that they are very well taken care of and loved :) He talked to the kids in a language that they could understand, kept them engaged the entire presentation- which is NOT easy to do-and gave each child an opportunity to explore every animal at their comfort level. I cannot say more great things about this experience- I have also seen him in action hosting a Birthday Party in the Playland, he is a natural, and any child and family is lucky to come into contact with him! read more

My kids and I love Playland, whatever the weather. It has 4 brilliant jumpies, activities for babies, 3 Thomas train tables with lots of trains and it is very spacious too. The staff are very friendly, but also careful and vigilant too. Coffee, tea and cookies are provided free of charge and there are also plenty of magazines for the parents to read. For the two hours of rest I get every time we go there, it is worth every cent. The 10-pass ticket is a really good deal. read more

This inside play area (they have a park across the street) is much cleaner than most, especially those found in San Francisco. In terms of a 'bouncy castle' room for toddlers, it's as good as it get. read more
