My favorite part about this place is that they have diet entrees. When I'm looking for a healthier option but still want Chinese food, it's perfect. I've tried the shrimp with snow peas option and the bean curd option and enjoyed both. Also love their dumplings. They come in big size and are very filling. My family has ordered from China Garden for many years, especially the days when I was in elementary and middle school. We've always ordered takeout in person though. Today was my first time placing an order through Seamless for pick-up. I don't think the people who work there have ever been significantly pleasant, but their customer service was especially lacking this time around. I called to make sure my order would be ready on time. (I had scheduled it, and 20 minutes before the scheduled time, it still hadn't been confirmed. Their estimated preparation time according to Seamless is 10-20 minutes.) The woman on the phone was extremely rude. I had to repeat myself a couple of times when specifying it was an order for pickup placed on Seamless. First, she said she didn't get the order. Then, in the middle of the call, she said the guy just sent it through, and she ended that sentence with, "So what?" I didn't know what that meant, so I just asked the simple question of would it be ready on time. She responded rather rudely saying they need time to prepare it now, and she hung up on me when I said thank you. Picking up the food was an even worse experience. The woman (I'm pretty sure the same one I spoke to over the phone) glared at me after I said I'm picking up my order from Seamless. A guy behind the counter went to grab my order, then when he came back to the front, he said the price of the food to me. I must've given him a dumbfounded look because I had paid for the food via card on Seamless. The woman then said something to him in Chinese, probably to mention I had already paid for it. I don't order Chinese fast food takeout very often anymore, so I probably won't be coming back, but it would also be awkward for me to come back after this experience. If I really wanted the same food, I'd rather support Yummy/Tortillas King, which is nearby on 86th Street. TLDR; you're not going to come here for stellar service, but the food is still average Chinese takeout. read more

This place was closed for over a month because of the pandemic and reopened just this month. Don't order from them for a awhile until later in the year. They're serving spoiled food right now. I ordered a egg roll, it was all black inside and tasted sour. Also had chicken wings that was all bruised and black. Had to throw my entire order out. We ordered fried chicken wings, beef with broccoli and shrimp fried rice. The fried chicken wings were really good, crispy and not oily- and hairless. Usually when I order from other places it has hairs and it's oily but this is my first time trying this place and they exceeded my expectations and was very pleased. It was yummy! The beef with broccoli was great- except they were skimpy on the beef portion and filled it completely with broccoli, I would have given five stars if they were fair with the beef portions. There was barely any beef... might as well say it's broccoli and rice. Not too happy about that at all. However, the shrimp fried rice was absolutely delicious and they were fair with their shrimp portions. They delivered really fast so I was pleased about that! Why you call your Food "Food" is the real question of the day. Your yellow Thai curry was just a bowl of green peppers I could have easily chopped myself.We had 2 main dishes, soup etc. Soup leaking everywhere in the bag, because lid was cracked, plastic was in the soup, rice was therefore soaking wet. You do not follow special instructions, so why even giving us the option to ask for extra toppings etc. The food really did not taste like anything at all.
