My go to place for yummy Hong Kong Chinese food. So much better than the regular delivery and they also serve Japanese food if you are in the mood. When we don't know what to eat we come here, you can't go wrong. Last night I had the salt and pepper pork chops over rice and hubby had beef with Chinese broccoli with beef noodle soup, it was huge and hearty! Never left unhappy or hungry!

This is a super relaxed and cozy restaurant. The beef and bitter melon were so flavorful and the sauce was amazing. The roasted pork could've been more crispy and sweet however, it did come in a large portion with lots of noodles and vegetables which was great. They even gave fruit and fortune cookies at the end which was super nice. Staff were sweet as well!

The staffs are friendly, the food were good. We order the food to go. We had baked Portuguese chicken with spaghetti and crispy pork with rice. The food came with soup. Would come here again if we are in the area. It is a good Hong Kong comfort food. Staff: 4/5 Food: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5

Definitely one of my favorites in Bensonhurst. After so many years of eating at Silver Star restaurants we finally found a new favorite. Everything is clean. You can eat in or take out. The wonton are made fresh. Friend rice is delicious. The string bean's & shrimp were so good.

Ordered a Curry to go. This stinking tasteless mass is impossible to eat. Now I understand why this restaurant is slow. Their cook is not allowed to touch the food.

This is a boutique restaurant on 18th Avenue. Swing by early to find parking. The place is small but there's seating at both tables and booth. Restaurant was clean and rated an A by NYC which is extra nice as it's been quite disappointing to only find Bs and Cs for Chinese restaurants in this area. It does get quite busy on weekend nights. We were craving Shrimp with walnuts and broccoli with mayonnaise. The dish had ten jumbo shrimps, and was quite deliciously smothered in mayonnaise. We also ordered the fried pork chop on rice which comes with white or brown rice, and soup of your choice. We chose the wonton soup which was pleasantly nice on a cold winter night. The pork chops could use more flavor and were caked with too much flour. We definitely look forward to eating at this restaurant again.

Came here Sunday evening for a quick dinner with my family. The restaurant was pack except for one table which we took. Ordered our favorites, egg plant with fish in garlic sauce over rice, salted fish/ chicken fried rice, Peking pork chops over rice, and salt & pepper pork chops. Service was good and everything came quickly. Food was delicious. I did noticed rice dishes were portioned smaller than before. Overall, an enjoyable meal.

My second time here and this was definitely more Memorable. Service was quick, didn't have to ask for a tea refill but had to ask for the extra set of utensils. We sat on a table that was already set for two, we had a party of four. Food was affordable and pretty good. Only disappointment was the sushi lunch special, with choice of salad or soup. I got salad and it was the seaweed salad.

I eyed the low star rating with some trepidation, because many of the criticism was coming from Cantonese people who know what they're talking about and as far as I could tell, judging the place plainly and not on an unreasonably strict curve. Perhaps because my expectations were level set and because the 3 items I had were decent, my normally critical self is going to round up what I would consider a 3.5 star experience to 4 stars. My partner and I biked here on our fancy bikes that we didn't feel comfortable locking outside, and they very kindly allowed us to keep our bikes in the front area. Some tables were occupied, but it was pretty chill on the Saturday afternoon I visited so this might be why they were so relaxed about it. We got the horlick french toast, rice noodles with fish balls, and HK milk tea. It's true that I'm used to Manhattan and north Brooklyn prices but wow things were shockingly cheap on this menu. I didn't expect the best food but the horlick french toast and HK milk tea were particularly good. I think the fish balls and noodles tasted like they were either rehydrated or defrosted and absolutely not made fresh, but again I think this dish was like 5 or 6 bucks? So I'm fine with a little reheated noodle action. What I really came here was for the ambience, and even the haters in the reviews can't deny this place is cute. If I were here with a group I would love to sit in one of their plush booths. They didn't rush us at all and didn't mind me walking around taking dozens of videos. I'd recommend a visit!

The breakfast is cheaper but also comes in a smaller portion, which I think it's still enough. Each noodle set comes with eggs of your choice, butter toast and hot drink. And I get their satay beef every time because this is the BEST I've had in NYC! I've been let down by so many spots, but this one tastes exactly like the kind I grew up with. Savory, peanut-y, and sooo good with instant noodles or vermicelli. *HK Style French Toast 一口西多士 $6 * Almost every table ordered the french toast and now I get why. Since it's cut into cubes, you get extra crispy edges in every bite. The center was filled with peanut butter. Crunchy, buttery, and sooo nostalgic. *HK Street Style Shu Mai 魚肉燒賣 $4.5 One of my favorite HK street snacks, and it's actually hard to find fish paste shumai in NYC. It is rich in body and smooth in texture. However, the aroma of the tea was slight covered by the milk choice. Typically, HK milk tea usually comes with evaporated milks or condensed milk by request. Using regular milk will covered the aroma of the tea and pushed the texture to a smoother but lost its taste of the traditional HK Milk Tea favor. This is still good for a regular craving though. I also tried this French Toast with Cream of Mushroom. The French Toast in HK should be paired with Syrup and butter with jam/peanut butter within the toast. This one at Like Cafe was fusion with Cream of Mushroom and cheese inside the toast. It made this devilish afternoon tea item a savory meal itself. It's amazing. I cannot stop saying "CS" (Crazy in Cantonese) after trying the first bite. I recommend to try it with Iced Tea with lemon if you are a small eater. First things first, no matter how good the food is, if I'm dripping sweat while eating the food, that's a big no-no because that means I can't enjoy it! That's what it was like inside Kowloon Cafe this afternoon because they barely had any air on in 80+ degree weather. It's also really dark in there, which wasn't very welcoming. Now, onto the food: - Beef Chow Fun: it was good, but very oily. I know you need a lot of oil to keep it from sticking, but it was a bit too much for me. The beef was also not as tender as I had hoped. - Baked Pork Chop Rice: if you like sweet tomato sauce with your baked rice dishes, then this is for you (and me!) I enjoyed this dish a lot, but could've enjoyed it more if there had been AC because it came out piping hot! - Assorted Combination Bowl: I ordered this thinking it was 煎讓三寶, but I was very wrong. It was a mixture of pork skin, fish balls, radish, and squid. I would not get this again because it was extremely bland. If you do decide to get it, go for the one with curry sauce, as I'm sure that would be at least tastier. - Rice Noodles w/ Mix Sauce: very bouncy and chewy rice noodles with a lot of sauce, which is right up my alley. I would order this again if I'm ever back. Overall, my experience here was just okay. There were a few hits and misses. They can do better with a renovation (the booth cushions were damaged) and brighter lighting. Too many competitors in the area with better food make it hard for me to want to come back. This storefront used to be Yozi's, which looks almost the same now. It is bright and welcoming, seating is open, and felt spacious. The service was decent, and the food came out relatively fast. For appetizers, I got the salt and pepper squid. For $6.50, I really can't expect much in terms of portion sizes, but I was quite disappointed at how overcooked it was. It was too dark to be golden brown and was very dry and chewy. Each piece of squid was essentially more than $1 each. I would not get this again. The club sandwich was decent, but it's hard to mess up a simple sandwich. For entrees, we got the Baked Curry Chicken Cutlet Rice and the Baked Portuguese Chicken Cutlet Rice. Both were actually pretty good, and portions were good, although I will say the curry one has a stronger flavor. The Portuguese sauce was very coconutty and milder in flavor. The chicken cutlets were seasoned well and were tender. I also love that parts of the egg fried rice base were a bit crispy, similar to the bottom of a claypot rice, but not as tough on the teeth. The rice dishes were better than expected, and the prices weren't that bad. I'd come back to try some of their other things while keeping in mind not to order the squid again! Legend Cafe Express has 2 floors... the lower floor is roomy, booth seatings and banquette seatings. Bright & welcoming. Still kind of new, probably needs time to adjust on their food items... we tried their HK milk tea (hot is better than the cold version), and the Baked chicken cutlet over spaghetti (not good... the chicken was rubbery... my son didn't finish) and also a baked curry oxtail over fried rice (the rice was crispy but the curry flavor wasn't good, tasted powdery).
