We Came to the greensboro area to get gas during the hurricane And I thought it would be To do a little sightseeing especially since we were still out of power. I could not stand the lack of taste of the chicken with garlic sauce and the rice was dry and tasteless. Needless. Visiting a friend who lives in the area and she suggested we come here for dinner. I am someone who lives in a big city and is used to quality Chinese food. Unfortunately, this restaurant was not even close to quality Chinese food. I ordered the general Tsos chicken with an egg roll, crab Rangoon, and hot and sour soup. I've never seen chunks of pineapple in general Tsos chicken before. Every restaurant I've had this dish at normally serves it with steamed broccoli florettes. the crab Rangoon's were flat instead of the normal crown shape that I'm used to. The hot and sour soup was decent. The side I ordered was fried rice, but all it was was rice in soy sauce. This rice was never even near a wok for frying. After the waitress dropped off our food, we never saw her again. If I lived full-time in this area, I would never go back. read more

New to the area and wanted to try something different. Aesthetically, the place needs to be freshened up but was clean and the servers and way staff were friendly. The food was just 'ok'. Not good not bad, just ok. It was my first time there so I may not have chosen their best dish. I got the Mongolian beef which was good just nothing special. read more

very sad to say that the quality of the food has gone down since when i first started ordering from here. the chicken and broccoli was tore up into shreds and the sauce didn't even taste like the usual one. the wonton soup was very odd smelling and i usually love wonton soup, the only thing that was decent was the little chips in the bag. they didn't even have packets of duck sauce so they gave me homemade duck sauce. to add when i called in to place the order they were cutting me off mid ordering! read more

China Garden provides quick takeout with no fuss. Dine-in is also available but I have never tried it because the restaurant is very no-frills. We had a difficult time finding the location the first time we ordered here because the signage is not noticeable and it is in a tight corner of a building. They offer all of the standard fare and the food is hot and tastes decent. We have tried Moo Goo Gai Pan, Mu Shu Pork, and Genera Tso's chicken. As a heads up, the fried rice does not have peas and carrots in it. read more

Honestly, the food was so bad I didn't want to waste anyone's time taking pictures. We ordered to go in person after 30 minutes of trying to call in. On the order was crab Rangoon, house special fried rice and king pa shrimp. Rangoons- fried in old oil, maybe twice. Hard, greasy, no filling. Gross. House special fried rice- rice was more than a day old, hard, greasy, flavorless with small bits of what was supposed to be the proteins. You can probably determine the shrimp fiasco. They tasted old and freezer burnt. We ate cereal for dinner. read more

We called our order in and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Person who took our order was helpful and easy to understand. Food was hot and the order was correct. We especially like the Mongolian beef which was very tender and had a side of rice ($13). We loved the fried dumplings and steamed dumplings and these were hot and fresh even after a 15 min ride home. ($6). Hot and sour soup was good and came with crunchy wontons to add into the soup. ($5) Ambience is as reported in previous posts, that's why we got ours to go. We will be returning to get our Asian food fix and try other things on the menu. I didn't really care for the mapo doufu, bc I wasn't accustomed to having peas in it and it wasn't spicy. All in all, we will be back. We loved it! First time ordering from China Garden, and we were very pleased. The woman who answered the phone was so sweet and helpful. The food itself was really good. The Kung Pao Chicken and Szechuan Chicken were nice and spicy and flavorful with a good amount of both chicken and fresh veggies. The meal combos are a great deal-your choice of soup, egg roll (which remained crispy even after a 20 minute drive home), the entree and a generous side of fried rice, oh and a bag of crispy wonton chips. Delicious and affordable! Granted we moved here from Dallas, TX where a similar Chinese meal would be at least double the price and not nearly as good. We will definitely order again! read more

I've been to this place several times on different occasions. Every time it's been really hot/muggy inside and tonight was no different. The Coca Cola glasses they serve their drinks in looked rather old and had soap scum film/spots all over. The whole place could be spruced up a little bit, like the decor itself. With that alone I gave the place three stars because no one wants to sit down and eat when it feels so humid/hot/muggy. I ordered the Mongolian chicken with steamed rice and crab ragoon. While at the lake my Dad had a hankering for American Chinese food. The only place close by is China Garden. We got combination plates that came with soup, egg roll, fried rice, and an entree. Overall it was a good value proposition. The food was middle of the road but decent and as saucey as you would expect from American Chinese food. The hot and sour was a little light for my taste and the egg roll had a ton of celery in it. I would eat it again if we were at the lake, but there isn't a whole lot else around. I use to drive up from Augusta to dine here and the food was excellent but lately not so good

The fried rice is pretty bland and the egg rolls have an overpowering cinnamon taste but the steamed dumplings are amazing.

It's good. Chicken and broccoli was a fan favorite for our kids and the chicken Mongolian was pretty good. Don't order the lo mein- ours were over cooked and very soggy.. This is the only Chinese in town - so if you are craving it - it's fine. Not the best we have had but it's edible and you can find some promising meals from the menu. read more

Portions at dinner are very large and reasonably priced especially for a resort area. its was clean but felt like I was still in the 80"s with the seafoam green, pink and burgundy. We haven't eaten here since 2019 and they did close for a period of time during "you know what". My entire family just ordered abunch of food a few nights ago and there were some things that really disappointed us after looking forward to eating here again. Portion size was noticeably smaller coupled with a sigificant increase in all their prices. I was fortunate enough to have scanned one of their 2018 menus into my computer, which we used to place our order from. We also picked up a newly printed menu when we picked up our food to go...so we were able to compare pricing. Most all of their menu items have gone up a minimum of $2, many items in the $3 to $3.50 range, and those combo items containing 3 meats have gone up $4 dollars. We are okay with paying an increase in price to a certain point. What is not acceptable is paying a higher price in conjunction with shrinkflation through their significantly smaller portion sizes. Please choose one or the other...not both. read more

Just moved to the area and looking for something quick and easy to pick up. This place hit the bill. The food was good and what I expected from "typical Chinese food". We had General Tso and sesame chicken. Both were good and the chicken crispy. Too many times I have ordered that and it is mushy elsewhere. My only reason for not giving five stars is that I requested spicy for the Tso and it wasn't. Egg rolls were also good! A keeper in my book and we will frequent the place. read more

The last two visits we found the restaurant to have declined somewhat. Both our meals were way overcooked, they didn't have brown rice, and the fortune cookies were stale. I apologize to the Chinese gal with blonde hair, but she should look for work elsewhere. She ignored us most of the time, never delivered my beer after I asked twice, and avoided eye contact. So many of the faces were different, makes me think they've changed management. Business was good, even for a Tuesday, so my review may be the outlier. BTW, they are now closed on Monday. read more
