    Smoked Salmon Salad-YUM

Smoked salmon salad! Wow. Spinich, arugula, pepitos, charred corn, currents, heirloom tomato and cous cous with a buttermilk dressing! Divine. Our server, Christian was attentive but not intrusive! A pleasure.

This was our first time visiting this Gem in Madison. Our friends at LakeOconee highly recommended... Well! It over achieved on every level. Beautiful building, overlooking a beautiful garden and our server told us there was a creek in the back. The food was outstanding. My husband and I each ordered a Caesar salad, we could have split it... Delicious, with fresh aged Parmesan slices.I ordered the swordfish special, which came with a peach chili sauce. They paired it with sticky rice and fresh vegetables. It was perfect. My husband had the ribeye, and he said it was one of the best steaks he has ever eaten. Again portions are large. I started with the Lemon drop martini... And I shall toast to discovering this fantastic restaurant.

Had the most wonderful dinner on a Saturday night while visiting the beautiful town of Madison. The restaurant is just a few steps across the parking lot from the charming James Madison Inn which is how we ended up dining here. For starters, we had a basket of warm bread. I opted for French Onion soup for a starter and it hit the spot. My friend and I shared a generous portion of Chicken Parmesan, which was definitely plenty for two people. The food was very good and our server was EXCELLENT! Sierra gave us an over-the-moon dining experience that both my husband and I are so grateful for. She was such a joy and a pleasure. We hit the jackpot when we seated at her table. Thank you, Town 220 and Sierra, for a wonderful evening. Reservations are a must as this place is packed on a Saturday night.

We enjoy eating here about once a month. The atmosphere is very nice and intimate. The food is always delicious and the chef is top-notch. A great place for a special occasion or date night.

The atmosphere is great, wide open dining room with a full bar. There were 14 of us in the party and I'll say our waitress did a great job by handling us and a couple other tables. Only a few times did we have to wait a min longer to get our drinks. Now onto the food. For a nice place like this I expected more out of the flavor department in the food. It wasn't the best but wasn't terrible either. If paying 30+ a plate you should expect to be blown away with flavor. Other than that it was a great experience.

Food was made to order and hot. I got the bacon egg and cheese croissant to test the waters and it knocked my expectations out of the ball park. The croissants here are so flaky and wonderful. My partner got the apple turnover and it was equally tasty Service was great. The man that took our order (and made the food) was so happy and polite it made me even happier to be there. Atmosphere is great. This place is a bit small for dining in, but has nice tables and unique paintings that you can purchase decorating the walls. Very clean! Overall A+

The new owners have done it justice. The edits/additions to the menu are all good. The originals are still fantastic. This place is for crepes, French pastries (friends, croissants, tarts), and breads. I've never been for lunch, though that's my daughter's preference for this place. Why aren't we here more often? The coffee. It's fine, but nothing great, and when my wife and I have a Saturday morning to go out, we usually want great coffee. The space is tight, smallish, but clean. They seem to do more to-go business than eat in. We've never seen it packed, but there is usually a steady stream of to-go. Want great pastries? This is the place.

We came in on a Saturday morning, no one was there. There wasn't anything crazy happening to excuse the long wait for our food. Food was is eh. Nothing out of the ordinary for me. I got the steak and eggs. It comes with some potatoes as well. On the menu, it says "NY Strip Steak" and our waiter even asked if that was okay. They ended up serving us Rib Roast and the waiter came out as they served it to us and said "oh my manager said they changed the cut"....those are two different types of meat/steak and it would have been nice to have the option to change my meal because really, the rib roast was not good at all. It had no flavor to it and it carried a lot of liquid to it that all the liquid fell to the bottom of the bowl and mushed up the potatoes. My sister got the chicken and waffles, and she said that the chicken was tough and seemed to be overcooked.

We arrived at 12:30 and were seated immediately. The restaurant was not busy but had a steady crowd. I'm not sure of the exact why, but our food arrived at 2:15 p.m. By that time, several diners who arrived after us had eaten and left. One of my friends mentioned her meal was lukewarm. We did speak with a manager, and the individual apologized and sought to make things right, which was much appreciated. I'd love to possibly give them another try--just not sure due to the first experience.

Probably one of the biggest whiplash-type experiences we've ever had in fine dining. From what we…read morethought it would be, to what it actually was, the whole experience felt like it was set up to be a scam. We were sat inside, in the way back corner, farthest from the door and, in a 90-minute span, we killed at least 10 fruit flies/gnats between us. It's a nice place too that looks very clean, but they had the front door open the entire time. At first, I was trying to be subtle about it, but about halfway through, I was clapping my hands in the air and wiping bug guts on the white tablecloth. They may have been coming from the window next to me, but it was a little off-putting to say the least. The server did pick up on this, but didn't offer a different table or to at least close the front door. We didn't make a big deal about it, but by the time the wine bottle was open, we were shooing critters off our glasses regularly. Our server, who was clearly not French, kept calling us monsieur and madame and the accent was so forced, it became real cringe real fast. Please stop making the servers pretend they're French. And to be fair, our server was great, none of this was on them, but the fake French posturing HAS to be derided by the staff, so this complaint is for THEM. Unless they are a.) FROM France or b.) fluent IN French, native English is fine and preferred. This is not a place for improv and you wouldn't make an Olive Garden server speak like Mario and Luigi. Maybe our server was into it, but it became extremely painful as the dinner continued to go downhill. For entrees, I ordered the rib-eye (which includes comp refills) and SO ordered the filet. When the filet came out, it smelled loudly like a barnyard. After a few bites from each corner, it was sent back. The smell could only be compared to cow poop, and I honestly can't believe the kitchen sent it out. $64 filet and I wouldn't have given it to a stray dog. No aging on the filet also--just a bad piece of meat they tried to pawn off on a guest. My rib-eye was small (understanding with the whole "free refills" thing) and not steaming hot, but the filet's odor was a bigger problem when the plates hit the table, so I just went with it. SO couldn't/wouldn't order anything else and I don't blame them. The meat was clearly bad, and it resulted in some minor gastro issues the following day, even after just a few bites. The manager did come to the table to apologize and offered a replacement, but SO was uninterested. Going back to my entree, the "frites" that came with my ribeye were a frozen product: those battered/orange fries you get from the drive-thru at Checkers. Gross and disappointing and this is where I felt like I was being scammed. I think they claim somewhere "twice fried in beef tallow" but I know a fast-food-style fry when I taste it/see it. Also, the plate presentation was just the ribeye and fries. No garlic aioli, no ketchup, no parsley, no lemon, no garnish. Chef clearly doesn't know the 3-color rule and considering the size of the cut, it looked like something you'd get at a diner with fried eggs (and the entree has a $59 price tag also). The refill was hotter and closer to medium, and I enjoyed it more than the first one, but I wasn't risking a third helping and didn't want to have to wait anyway with my SO sitting there with nothing in front of them. Ultimately, we grinned through all of it and stayed for dessert. How hard can that be? Well, the creme brûlée was either over-whipped or too eggy. More like a flan. Not awful, but it's didn't help the dinner at that point and it was the only item the SO was interested in after the filet debacle and it was just ok. You'd think the brûlée at a French bistro would knock your socks off, right? It was meh. I followed up with a call to the restaurant and left a message to speak with the manager who touched our table regarding the filet. Not looking for a refund and you couldn't pay me to revisit, but he should know that there were multiple failings that night, not just their attempt to sell spoiled meat.
