I was shocked I had not found this place as I love a Chinese buffet! It was much better than expected. I really like the fact that they seem to cook as they go, just don't fill up the trays and let them sit for hours as most do. Good service, great food!! Will go back. TIP: take cash as it is about $5 more if you use a debit/credit card. read more

My husband and myself went there yesterday Oct 8. There were a few people there.. The waitress did not smile or had any politeness about her. Took us to a table wanted to know what we wanted to drink told her we proceeded to the buffet. That was the ONLY time we seen her. Not once did she come to the table to check on us.. If everything is ok, could I get you some more drink, or even picking up plates off the table (there was five when we left) and did not get our check. Went to pay didn't have our ticket ready. I understand that maybe having a bad day but I wait tables and the kind of behavior is unacceptable. And did that job from 6 to 3 that day. No excuses the service that we give is how we make our tips. read more

Great food. Good price. Hard to beat all you can eat! And very nice folks run the place.

Been there twice, very expensive for what you get. $16.46 for dinner and soda for One person. No fish, no frog legs either time the fried bar was almost empty both times and hot bar was old foods at 5:30 both times. No good desserts. I do not recommend. Paid $80.00 today for my family on a trip today. None of the 8 of us liked any of the food. The kids got excited on the way out to see to go type ice cream cups only to be let down when they were so frost bit that they melted yellow instead of white like vanilla ice cream should. I waited inline while they chatted about 5 minutes also. Just all around no good. Selection is terrible, also mislabeled. Food isn't good. Just all around let down with this one. read more

Had I written a review for this place a few years back, I would have given it a higher rating. Its one of those Chinese buffet places that has a decent wide selection, and probably the biggest dessert range at any. That said, the quality and taste of food is just getting worse. A lot of the hot food is just bland, dry, and just negative. Same goes for the desserts. If you have a craving for Chinese, by all means I guess go here but I'm sure there's better places across the Ohio River. read more

We ate there a caw times, and the last time we went we seen cockroaches by the food. And they still made us pay. We will never come back.

This place is nothing but filthy dirty inside. The vent above the fountain drinks had dirt hanging from it, the floors were disgusting. The chairs and booths have rips all over them as the tables have cracks on them. There were bugs in the window sills looked they been there for a month, blinds are broken. the temperature was warm inside and it was hot outside so yea the owner did not want you to stay very long or be to comfortable. Was given my bill right when I barely had time to sit with my first plate. As if the owner was sending me a message implying that's all you get. I heard him tell another customer it is not an all you can eat. I think someone needs to explain to him the definition of BUFFET. Was in there at lunch time and most of the trays were empty due to quite a few people eating there, guess they were not ready for a lunch rush. I left ended up eating at the BBQ place next door, they have some excellent BBQ. Would not recommend this China House Buffet to anyone and if you go there enter at your own risk. Cheap, and as the saying goes- you get what you pay for. Arrived hungry, left hungry. The food had been sitting out for awhile, and made me sick. The bathrooms had a strange mildew smell too. Service was rude. I do not recommend. read more

Very disappointed went there for frog legs and they didn't have them. Didn't let us know until we ask. Still charged the same price as usual and ask for our senior discount and the young lady at the cash register did not give it to us. We ask about it and she just shrugged her shoulders, she was very rude and we probably will not be back there. read more

Pretty good selection on the buffet. Food is usually hot and fresh if you go during a time you are busy. They also have very good lunch deals for carry out. Also, they have a dinner for two special that contains many various entrees for one low price. read more

Two traveling vegetarians managed to find a good selection here. Cost $19 for us both.

Not very clean and not much food to be a buffet!! Little town of Metropolis needs a new Chinese buffet in town.
