I would not recommend. I sat down and waited for 10 minutes before anyone greeted me with water. I was ready to order by then, and got the salmon and tuna sashimi, yellowtail hand roll, a salmon and avocado roll, and a tuna with cucumber roll. I waited another 20 for food to come out. I took my first bite of sashimi and knew it wasn't going to be a great meal. The fish isn't super fresh. It's watery, looked degraded and flaky when I folded it over. Sushi rice was mushy. I would return and order something different than what I did. I wanted salmon so I got a salmon type roll but it did not taste good to me and I sent it back and still got charged. My husband has been raving about his steak and rice though and my daughter was stealing off his plate so I would get something hibachi next time and steer clear of the rolls. The service was great, the place was clean but it was the worst sushi I've ever had. I have had sushi at many many restaurants and I have never had a spicy tuna roll where the tuna was a mush. Seriously like it was in a blender and put in a roll. The rolls themselves were not a tight roll and everything fell apart. I would not go back. Revisiting my review for an update but it's staying the same--a heavy "5". I've dined here several times now, we tend to stop in whenever we're passing through from TN up into Illinois or beyond if it's lunch or dinner time and it has never disappointed. I've had their sushi (cooked and raw), appetizers, hibachi, tempura...it's all fantastic. Their sushi is really good and their fried rice is incredible. The service is always good as well and it's always clean and organized. I love the general feel and ambience--low lighting, big booths, noise/music levels at a conversational tone. And prices? I don't think I've ever ordered a drink here as we're usually on a road trip (or returning from one) when we stop in, but $7 for a variety of mixed drinks? Most similar places (at least in most cities I frequent) charge twice that. Food is likewise economical and more than fair. Highly recommended and a go to for us from now on any time we're on the interstate near Paducah. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Paducah! I love sushi, and this place is amazing. Fish is fresh. Salmon almost melts in your mouth. We love this place and always love coming back. It hasn't really been crowded and service has always been great. Ninja roll (5/5): This is my go to. So fresh and so flavorful. Big roll and all the tastes you would want. Salmon avocado roll (4/5/5): We love getting the basic rolls, and they are huge! The salmon avocado is a favorite of mine. Good food and nice helpful friendly waitress. My wife and I enjoy eating their food. We plan to have lunch there while shopping in Paducah.

Pretty good sushi and pretty nice restaurant but the service wasn't good at all. I stood at the front by myself and watched a handful of workers walk around the nearly-empty restaurant (they all saw me) for several minutes until one of them finally sat me. Then, even though only a couple other people were there eating, the waitress never checked on me and only came by to take the order then drop off the food and the check. At certain points, I could've used more water and a container for soy sauce but she was nowhere to be found. Service aside, I'd give the food 4 stars. read more

i'll start off with the place is really nice, the floors and tables weren't too clean and kinda stuck but honestly no issue, and we did have to send the seaweed salad back cause it was kinda tasteless, but the soup and the sushi itself was absolutely phenomenal. It was all cooked so nicely and for all of this food i only paid 80$ with tip so no complaints ! i will say though hot tea was almost 3$ so i wasn't expecting that and if you need honey w your tea bring your own. As a Chicago native, where there are countless sushi restaurant, I was surprised to find such a delicious sushi spot in Paducah. My family ordered a number of different maki rolls to try, all of which were delicious and very fresh. I ordered the Kiss of Fire and Ninja roll which I loved. The sushi comes in generous portions, and the rolls are large and filling. My brother also ordered the chicken fried rice. The chicken was grilled and flavorful and the portion was very large. We dropped by this place on a Saturday night, it was disappointingly nearly empty. Hopefully, that was an anomaly, but I'm afraid that might be the norm in terms of business here. In Paducah, there are 2 "going out" areas where restaurants thrive: Exit 4 and Downtown. Hokkaido isn't in either of those spots and that makes it tough. The food was really quite good. We've had a lot of sushi and this was as good as any that I have had in a spot like Paducah with no direct seafood access. We started with house salad and they had the basis ginger dressing that is found in Asian restaurants. It was fine, but could have used more ginger. We all had different versions of sushi after and it was all good. I was pleased to get the Nigiri with seven different options, they were great. Everyone else had rolls that were good. All of the "spicy" options were pretty hot, which is cool for us. A special shout-out to the "Cowboy Roll" that had grilled steak and asparagus. Good stuff! Our server had A LOT of personality, I would say a bit too much. It was fine for our party, but it could have been a big turn off. The decor of the place was basic, but very clean and open. They had a couple of good, local beers on draft, too. The taps weren't at the bar, though, that was kind of strange. They just appeared from the kitchen, so... The price was appropriate and I would like to see this place survive, but I'm not going to hold my breath. read more

This is without a doubt the best Japanese food I've ever had. The calamari was substantial and not at all chewy, the crab Rangoon was to die for! I had a bento box with the chicken, shrimp and beef and while the beef was the weakest link it was by no means bad. My mother ordered the shrimp lunch special and barely got through half of it (definitely because it was filling, not because of the crab rangoons). The salad was a bit over saucy near the bottom but it was still fantastic. We will absolutely be coming again. read more

Terrible and frankly unacceptable service. I ordered hot sake and the waitress brought cold sake. I politely pointed that out and she told me they only had one hot sake and this wasn't it, and this was what I ordered, even though it was listed under Hot Sake on the menu. I never took a sip of it and did not order any other food while my wife at a very unimpressive and cold plate of hibachi. They never brought her salad or refilled her drink. It was absolutely awful all the way around. It used to be a decent place to eat but things have clearly changed. The manager looked directly at the still full bottle on our table when I came to the counter to pay, evidently aware of the situation but not interested in dealing with it and instead of handling it herself she sent our waitress out to ring up the check. I paid for the Sake and everything else without any further complaint but I certainly won't be back. To make note of how awful the service and the waitress's attitude was, this is the only review I have ever left of a place ever in my life. It was really that bad. read more
