Came on the recommendation from a friend (04/25/2026), I'd heard mixed reviews so I was curious about this place. I'll give them 4.75 stars, but they did fantastic so I'll round up for this place. First, we walk in the door and Zack walked past and complimented the boss on her snazzy shirt and a few other staff were friendly too so the vibe was nice to start off. We were then led to our table to discover Zack is our server for the night. Another compliment on the bosses glasses, okay she did look great - Thanks Zack! Drinks come out super fast and we get our food ordered. Zack was great helping with Alpha Gal and later following up with the kitchen staff that they had in fact not put butter on my fish - another win. I ordered the red fish special (I think) with a baked potato and the boss got the Harris Platter. Zack recommended blackened and was so right, delicious! I tried her fired catfish and that was delicious too, but would have dipped it in hot sauce, but the cocktail sauce was so yummy with a nice horseradish bite - delicious and maybe better than hot sauce (slander I know). That 0.25 off - well the hushpuppies were kinda gross and bland. This is the south so quality hushpuppies are a must. Ask for Zack, you will not be dissapointed. read more

Wow wow wow. Came in on a Friday night. Tried the hot and spicy crawfish dip and it was okay. Then I had the best crab legs of my life. How good? I came back again the next day for lunch. When I came back Saturday we got the crab bites and they were very good. Had the crab legs for the second day in a row and they were still 10 out of 10. Can't wait to come back. For as popular as this place is I do think they could upgrade their tables a little. Our server on valentines afternoon was great and took care of our group of 11. My friend and I were in Paducah shopping and decided to have dinner at Stricklands. It was a beautiful afternoon so we sat outside. The waitress was very kind and helpful. We ordered drinks. I ordered a double Basil Hayden sour and my friend Tanqueray and tonic. We had shrimp, crab cakes, mahi and Ahi. All were delicious. Half way through the meal we ordered another drink. When the check came my 2 drinks were $56. $28 each. I understand that a double is 2ce the price as a single but in a place where 95% of the menu items are $20ish or less and the restaurant is NOT high end one would not expect to pay this much for a drink. If you are going to charge above average prices they should be disclosed. No prices are on the menu. read more

Great meal!!! Everything ordered from appetizers to entrees were spot on. Was VERY satisfied with the quality and quantity of food at a very reasonable price. The restaurant was nice and clean with a homey vibe. Service lacked just a bit but the waitress apologized the she had forgotten to put in our order after apps which was no problem. Saw other patrons come and go with fast service but sometimes things happen. Our entrees were well worth waiting for. Will definitely be back for repeat business. read more

I wish it was close to my home but it's 4 hours away. I'm comfortable saying it would be my go to seafood place. Service was great we asked for for a appetizer not on the menu and they made it happen. The many choices offered on the menu made it difficult knowing you couldn't pick them all. I opted for a plater with catfish, Crab bites, shrimp, coconut shrimp, and fried crawfish tails. We arrived at 11:35 on a Wednesday and were the only ones there. Luckily others trickled in as we ate. We were seated in the bar area which is a mix of funky nautical wall decor and hard minimalist furnishings. The service was ok, not super attentive though, especially given the light crowd. My wife had the fish tacos and said they were excellent, maybe the best she's had. The fish were perfectly crunchy and not greasy and came with a slaw with lime flavoring that added to the taste. Hush puppies were also tasty and not greasy. The Cajun rice was very dry though. I had a grilled blackened chicken breast, which was heavily seasoned, which I loved. Really great taste and the chicken was tender. Had Cajun red beans and rice. The beans had a deep flavor, but the rice was the same dry rice that was under the chicken snd that my wife had. Really good flavors here will put this on our return visit list next time we are in town. read more

When I head out for seafood, I'm immediately looking forward to crispy, tasty hush puppies. Unfortunately, Strickland's Seafood offers an average recipe (read: bland). No one at our table finished theirs. Now onto the highlights: friendly, efficient service, affordable and healthy menu options. I opted for the Grilled Shrimp (over a bed of brown rice) with a side of broccoli. It was good...not great, but solid. We were greeted by a friendly server as soon as we walked in the door! The service was great and we received our meals quickly. The meals my husband and I had were some of our favorite ever! Clam chowder had no clams to it and very bland. The shrimp Alfredo with blackened shrimp felt burnt and had minimal seasoning. The food felt very frozen and then simply reheated. I love me some Strickland's! I am usually eating a late lunch alone, so I just eat at the bar so I can watch whatever sports is on TV, even if it is a cornhole tournament. I'm not a fan of their fried catfish (maybe it was just an off day). I loved the oysters, but wish they sold less than a dozen. There was no way I could eat that many and the price tag was surprising. Their hush puppies are always good and red rice could be a staple in my house if they would sell it by the gallon. I usually love this place and when in town always eat here. Today I only had time to get an order to go. Was in there almost 10 minutes before ever seeing anybody. Finally placed my order and got a beer while I waited and it wasn't very cold, the floor was sticky and the place just didn't feel very clean and then to top it off when I got home they shorted me on my order of hush puppies! Very disappointed today, Stricklands you can do better than this! Added... Didn't look at receipt closely till I got home (yes I know my fault) and saw a 10% gratuity added for a ToGo order! This was not some big order it was 3 bowls of soup, hush puppies and creole bites! I got the baked tilapia over rice with red beans/rice and fried okra. I loved it !! Delicious. Service was good and they have diet Mountain Dew!! It was a Friday and busy around 6pm. After I arrived, I sat at the bar and it seemed that no one knew what a waitress should do. It was probably 5 minutes before I was greeted. I ordered and the food came out quickly but only warm. The shrimp were over cooked which made them so hard to peel. I was going to stick around for dessert because I love key lime pie but the waitress provided me with my bill before I could order it. To me the food is excellent I love catfish this is the best in town. Much better than their competitors the competitors give more food but don't have the quantity as Strickland's seafood. The only thing I dislike about Strickland is that charge an extra 50 cents for an extra butter and 50 cents for an extra sour cream and they both come in very small containers. Attentive staff, very friendly, kept our drinks filled. My husband ordered the Harris platter. The coconut shrimp were excellent, the catfish was not soggy but not crispy but had a good flavor, hush puppies were dry. I had the crab cakes, tastes mostly like jiffy cornbread mix, 90% filler, 10% crab. The Remoulade was excellent and ranch seemed to be house made. Tartar sauce tasted like store bought. Our waitress was really nice and friendly. We ordered two appetizers and only one came out as an appetizer-the oysters. The least amount of work was done for this dish and it was the best. Our other appetizers- the jalapeño potato skins came out with our food, and we had to ask-"where's the jalapeños??" Not on our skins apparently. We both ordered the surf and turf special. I asked how many shrimp come with it and was told 5. I got 3. We both ordered our steak blackened. Normally I like that seasoning blend, but this was like licking a salt block left for a deer in the woods. My red beans and rice were no more than a table spoon of rice my shrimp were placed ON with a side of pork and beans sprinkled with green onions. No. They were not served in the same dish. I have no idea why. They didn't even taste like red beans and rice. For a restaurant to have been trained in southern Cajun cooking, it lacked the flavor- except salt. My steak also had large areas of fat and gristle that I had to cut away, which left about half a steak. It was still pretty decent amount as they are large steaks. I just suggest not to order it blackened unless you like your tongue to burn from all the salt. There was also a mound of I'm not sure what, placed on the steak. It looked like a scoop of bacon grease. I scraped it off. I ended up taking my steak and putting it on the potato skin plate in hopes of decreasing the saltiness and whatever the stuff on top was. It was still a gooey mess when it came time to take plates. I did not bring these things up to the waitress. Why? Because we arrived at 8 pm. They close at 9 and all the mishaps, I feel like the work staff must've been ready to leave. Waitress asked if I needed more water after she brought the bill, and I said yes. I never did get that water. If I ever came back, I'd stick with oysters. They were delicious. read more

It was a beach themed restaurant. So one should not necessarily buy or eat seafood from a restaurant, in the center of the United States. It was not close to any sea water. The service was fine. I ordered the grill fish on salad. The fish was overcooked. The salad dressing was odd, it was a house vinaigrette. Second My friend ordered the seafood platter.
