We just moved to the area so of course wanted to find our new go-to Chinese spot. China King 1 was the first one we wanted to try and we were not disappointed!!! Sometimes it's a hit or miss with these restaurants but the pork fried rice actually tasted fresh and like pork, the crab Rangoon was also filled as some we have tried before didn't have much filling. Usually my fiance doesn't like moo goo gai but he tried this one since that's my go to and he loved it! Great portion and no complaints. Will be back. They do a nice job with takeout. Made fresh & tasty. This trip we had moo shu pork, house mei fun and honey chicken combo. I thought the mei fun would have curry flavor, it did not, but it was still very tasty. The eggroll that came with the combo was really good, nice & crispy, full of flavor. Everything was very good. My husband and I are very picky about Chinese American food as I grew up in my parents' restaurants. No frills or decor in here, but awesome food! My husband loved his pork lo mein. I got ma po tofu which was not traditional, but still yummy and comforting on a cold rainy day. Ordered online and it was ready when we finished getting groceries at the giant eagle next door. normally, i don't write too many reviews, but i have to say every yelp review. i read pretty solid. i was so thoroughly disappointed with this food barely ate any of it. it wasn't that it was bad. it was that nothing had flavor. i mean nothing had flavor. even fundamentals of technique are missing like cutting the beef so it's tender as opposed to being tough and chewy again i don't know where anyone has eaten chinese food anywhere else other than avon lake but everyone that says it's amazing. really needs to use some different words to describe "passable" chinese food. the young lady at the counter was extremely nice and kind so maybe they were having an off night but i just cannot believe that i spent 40+ dollars to basically not eat any of the food that i ordered from this restaurant if you're looking for chinese food quality, chinese food i might look somewhere else i was extremely extremely disappointed and i've eaten chinese food all over the world. it's not always great, but it is very, very disappointed.!!!! We ordered take out based on the high score on Yelp and were disappointed by the food. The won ton soup was just okay. The mu shoo pork was sweet instead of smoky. The sweet and sour sauce was bland, lacked any real sweet or sour notes. Fried rice was pretty plain and the egg roll average. The shrimp chips were the high point of the meal. Based on our one experience on a Monday night we think there are better choices in or near Avon Lake. read more

This is your typical mom and pop restaurant. This is a once a week go to for me. I call so much that I know when to order on my trip home. The go to for my house is General Tso's chicken and on occasion I would order the Szechuan beef. The brown sauce on the Szechuan has a great flavor and you can order it to your spice level. The General Tso's also have a great sauce with very tender chicken bites that is just as great for lunch leftovers as the day it was served for dinner. The beauty of this place is that they reward you for purchasing. I am not sure what we will get as a specialty gift. Some days it is an extra egg roll and other days it is a specialty fried rice. The portions are great and like stated before usually enough for left overs the next day. The dining is clean and neat. It is not a fancy place but it warm appealing if you would want to take friends their you would not be disappointed. I love supporting local shops and they make everyone feel like they are the greatest customer in the world. Being a regular is a perk but she knows me when I walk in has my order up and ready with a smile and thank you. Wow, just wow! Best Chinese takeout I've ever had! Super flavorful, not greasy at all, and you can tell there are things made from scratch. We had the steamed dumplings, chicken with broccoli, sweet-and-sour chicken, chicken fried rice and house chow mei fun. Each dish was spot-on. My only disappointment is that I live 30 minutes away from this restaurant or else we'd be getting it probably a lot! This place is our go to Chinese Food takeout! The food is always flavorful, and not as greasy as expected from Chinese takeout. Pleasantly surprised with this unassuming strip mall Chinese takeout restaurant. Everything ordered was great! Delicious hot & sour soup. Good potstickers. I went to China King's website to place an order for pickup . They would not let me place the order until , yes this is true , I tipped them , the lowest amount being ten percent. Needless to say , I didn't place the order, not at this place or any other that extorts at least , a ten percent gratuity , so that I can drive to your restaurant , and pick up food to co sumé elsewhere . They wanted a ten percent tip up front for , I guess being in business ? If you need to raise prices , raise prices , but demand at least a ten percent tip up front , that tells me your food and service must be horrible. read more

Recently had my first order here and overall it was good. Ordered Beef and beef and broccoli and Sweet and sour pork as well as their Seafood Delight. Though the food was favorable it was not spicy at all unfortunately. Somewhat authentic but I would consider it more American style Chinese food. The price wasn't too bad for the area. The customer service was okay. They were friendly but not like other places I have experienced where they go above and beyond to let you know they appreciate their customers. I am new to Northeast Ohio area or Ohio for that matter. Best Chinese in Avon Lake never had a bad meal from here and great prices and portions. Also very friendly. My mom went here to place an order not knowing when they closed and they were closing for the day but they made her order for her thats very nice of them. Online ordering is very easy too. Walked in and ordered Hunan Chicken and Sweet and Sour Chicken to go. Lady told us 15 mins and walked down to another store and come back in 10 mins or so. Order was ready to go on time and we drove three mins to the house. When we got home both of the entrees were cold and you could tell immediately it was not cooked to order. The Hunan Chicken was very mild for a "spicy" dish according to the menu and it already had a glaze like it had been sitting around for an hour or so. I had to microwave it up, but then decided to trash it. Sweet Sour was not much better. Will definitely go to King Yuan in Avon next time. read more

I have been going here for years & would have rated this a 4 star but today I gave it a one star. I ordered orange chicken (which I have had dozens or times from this place). The sauce was runny and it had no flavor. The fried was also bland. The egg roll was filled with grease. My son had the shrimp with lobster sauce & his was flavorless as well. Just ordered for the first time. It was HOT, it was on time, it was DELICIOUS! I got the veggie Egg Foo Young. Loaded with veggies. Also got the veggie fried rice. Quality and quantity of food has really gone downhill. Ordered BBQ spare ribs that were "deep fried" over done, dry and all fat. The broccoli chicken was delicious, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly, which is not always the case with Chinese takeout. We asked that one of our entrees was made with only white meat chicken, and they had no problem honoring our request.
