I don't leave reviews too often, and was not expecting too much of this place but man.... Amazing General Tso's chicken! Probably the best I've ever had. Super crispy with sauce that has tons of flavor. They must fry it in peanut oil or something to get it to this level of crisp. Not greasy, just straight up crispy and delicious. Generals is my go to dish whenever I go to Chinese. If you love Generals too, this is the place to get it. WoW....China King in Richmond, KY remind me a lot like China Sun in Bristol, VA. Even their menu looks alike. I don't know if they related or not but I can tell you their food tasted the same except China Sun gives you more food for the same price and service is better. Both of these places have no decor and most people come here to order their food togo. The mongolian beef is OK to me cause I eat better in Seattle. Their fried rice have no flavor and it's yellow but not egg I think they put color in there. Of course, China King is in Richmond which is bigger than Bristol and near Eastern Kentucky University but I still like China Sun in Bristol. read more

China King has become my go-to for Chinese in Richmond. They have affordable prices, great portion sizes and their food is delicious. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Chinese, and everything I've tried here is 10/10. Some other places in Richmond I've tried are extremely greasy, which is what led me to try China King. It can be inconsistent at times (sometimes the egg rolls are perfection; sometimes they're a little greasy), but it's always fresh & piping hot & well packed (so no spillage on the drive home). The cashier was rude, uninformative and unprofessional. The sign says it closes as 10:30, but don't be surprised when they tell you to leave at 10 because they're closed. The shrimp and vegetables with garlic sauce only came with 5 pieces of shrimp with is ridiculous for the price. The chicken curry lacked flavor and sauce as well as the vegetables being undercooked. The chicken was cooked nicely and there was a fair amount, I suppose. I will not return though and I would suggest doing yourself a favor and going next door to Khin's rather than going here. read more

Horrible! Sesame chicken not only overcooked to the point of being dry and chewy, but some pieces actually had a blackened side and there was hardly any sauce. What kind of cook serves this garbage to a customer? I guess they figured since it was takeout it was okay. I have a cat who will eat almost anything -- even Thai curry -- and up until now the only thing I ever saw him refuse was cooked kale. Even he won't eat this sesame chicken. Just left China King for a take out order - 2nd trip!!! My husband ordered shrimp fried rice. We got all the way home (Waco) had to come back. Only gave him fried rice! This is by "FAR" the "WORST" Chinese food I have EVER ordered! I ordered chicken fried rice (simple right?) HA! They gave me yellow rice instead of fried rice and the chicken was not seasoned at ALL! On top of that, it didn't have any vegetables or anything else in it. I tasted it anyway and afterwards threw it all in the garbage. It was horrible! We ordered the hot and sour soup and crab rangoons for take out. There was barely a drop of cream cheese in the "crab" rangoons, just a lot of greasy dough. Really bad. The hot and sour soup was even worse. It had no sour taste (I added some rice vinegar when I got home, which helped a little), and the meat was just nasty...I'm not sure what kind of meat it was, but it was so gross. The wontons were so greasy it left my mouth feeling like oil and was just disgusting. I would definitly NOT recommend this place, they are stingy with the ingredients, and the food was overall just horrible. read more

I ordered the Egg Foo Young, by recommendation of a friend. It was an omelette-like dish, served over yellow rice. A bit greasy, but filling. The portions are large, I couldn't finish mine and had to take half of it home with me.
