I would avoid this place the quality has truly declined from when I first started coming here a few years ago, like drastically. They are also thieves the prices always vary one time the price was outlandish and the lady noticed behind the counter and tried to make it by offering me a free soda and swiftly moved over the fact that I was overcharged. I grew in Neptune. My family always ordered Chinese food from China1. The food was always tasty and fresh. That said, we were regulars and made friends with the former owner, Mimi. She was always super friendly and nice and kept the place tidy. My family and I always enjoyed our food from her. I recently came back to town from living out of state for 8yrs. I walked into China1 today to find that Mimi no longer owns the business and as a result, the place looks run down, unkempt, and soiled. It doesn't look like it would pass health inspection. Needless to say, I didn't end up ordering and instead walked out. It's disappointing to find that one of the dining gems in my hometown has become a wreck of what it once was. My 7 year old wanted Chinese. We were getting something else. Saw this place so decided to order. He only eats white rice and wonton soup. We never pre order this anywhere because these items already done. I've never waited more then 2 minutes at other places. 20 minutes while our food got cold. Never again! read more

Fresh tasty food conveniently located across the street from Jersey Shore hospital. I had shrimp in garlic sauce and my sister had beef and broccoli and an egg roll. Everything had a good taste and I was really happy that they had delicious brown rice available as an option. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the fried rice, which reminded me more of Spanish rice than traditional fried rice. I have been ordering Chinese food from this place for most of my life, and they rarely disappoint!

One of my absolute faves! The owners are super friendly and I'm there often enough that they recognize me as a regular. When I'm away for awhile they notice and say so. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. I like to try the General Tsos at a few different spots and depending on what taste I'm craving I'll head to that particular spot. China One's General Tsos is ginger-y.. and usually I ask them to make it tender and they comply. Their lo mein is a little more vegetable-y than I prefer but the ribs are right on! If you get delivery , while you are ordering on the phone ask for a receipt. Every time I order the same thing. When delivery gets here the delivery guy adds on any wheres from a dollar to two dollars. A small time rip off artist is delivering the food. I always tip the driver a couple of bucks. Ordered delivery and will never order again. The woman on the phone was so rude. She kept asking me if "that was it?" After each order. She said it would be 30 minutes. After almost an hour, I called, and the woman was rude again and stated that it wasn't that long ago, he was on his way. I looked at my phone, it was 50 minutes since my order. After an hour and 20 minutes, my food finally arrived. My soup had spilled all over my delivery and the driver's attitude was, "be careful, it looks like something might have spilled in the bag." My large hot and sour soup soup has spilled over my and my finance's whole dinner. It was after they closed my this time so I could not call them. My food was cold and did not taste great. The dumplings came without sauce, as well. I would not recommend them to anyone! read more

Ordered the Szechuan Beef lunch special with white rice and the Fried Vegetable dumplings. The Szechuan Beef was completely inedible. The beef is mostly gristle and the incredibly thick goopy sauce is so dark it is almost black and extremely salty. Basically someone went crazy with the Hosin sauce and used a ladle instead of a teaspoon. The only edible part were the pieces of broccoli and that is because they were not (A) beef and (B) completely covered in that sauce. The Fried Vegetable dumplings were, hard as it is to imagine, even worse. The dumpling dough was undercooked and the dumplings were very doughy rather than crisp. The filling was a very underwhelming amount of what appears to be mostly cabbage. Though because of the extremely thick dumpling skin there wasn't very much filling to be found. If you were to combine all of the shredded cabbage from the entire order of Fried Vegetable dumplings back into leaves of cabbage I seriously doubt you would get even one single leaf. All in all just completely inedible. If you are extremely hungry and this is your only option for a meal. You're better off staying hungry. Personally I plan on tossing the whole lot into the garbage. I also seriously question how anybody could give this place a positive review. The only place I've found with worse Chinese food was in Alabama. read more

I called to order a small Chicken & broccoli with white rice. The young lady stated it would cost $5.88. I got there to pick up my order and she tried to charge me $7.07. When I asked why the price change, she stated the food cost $5.88 + tax + an additional .70 for the PLASTIC TRAY! She stated she put my food in a plastic tray because I told her I wanted white rice! What a rip off scam this place is!!!! I told her I refuse to pay additional money for a plastic tray SHE chose to put my food in. Also per the menu, chicken & broccoli cost $5.60 plus an additional 7% tax. She still over charged me for my food. Either she's a scam artist or just a math deficiency but I will never patronize this place again. Not because of the quality of food but because the young lady tried to really scam me by overcharging me and seriously trying to insult my intelligence regarding a PLASTIC TRAY!
