If you like Thai food, you should definitely try this place. The curry's and noodle dishes are fantastic. It is a small dining room and gets very busy on weekends. If you can go during the week, you would probably be more likely to have a short wait for a table. Bamboo Leaf is a somewhat small Thai restaurant in Bradley Beach. Therefore, expect to sit pretty closely to other tables near you. We were lucky to have a table near the window. The thing I loved about Bamboo Leaf is that it's BYOB. I made sure to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. I ended up ordering one of my favorite Thai dishes...Drunken Noodles. It didn't take long for us to receive our food after ordering, which was a plus. The food was nice and hot when it arrived as well. Another plus. I absolutely loved my food. I practically cleaned the plate. This was definitely a popular spot on a Friday night, so expect a bit of a wait before being seated at a table. I went here with a group of friends for a friend's bday. She told me she literally just picked it out online. She didn't read any reviews or anything. We got seated at a table and they were able to do separate checks for us. I got the Drunken Noodles, not spicy. I have to say that was the BEST Drunken Noodles I have ever had! I thought it was so good that I wanted to get another dish!! All my friends enjoyed their dishes as well. I have tried other Drunken Noodles and nothing comes near this place. I have eaten here before and there can be a long wait for a table. As long as you are okay to wait then you should be fine or go on a day and time with less of a wait. The wait wasn't too long for a Friday night. Was recommended this place by two other a Yelpers and it didn't disappoint. The portions were huge but it was soooo good that I finished it all instead of taking half home. The vegetables in my Pad See Ew still had bite and I loved that! There was enough sauce that the noodles didn't soak it all up after a few minutes. It was just REALLY good! We got a corner seat by the window so we could still hear each other but it was still really loud with all the other patrons. But hey, it was a Friday night so what else would one expect. We stopped in here by happen chance. What a find! We've been looking for a good Thai restaurant since we moved here from north jersey where we had a favorite Thai restaurant that we'd frequent weekly. So happy we found bamboo leaf! The food was the best we've found since moving to the area four years ago. I felt like I was back up north. We're about 35 minutes south but do worth the travel. Last eve, we ate here early 530 to 630 pm. The ambiance has changed a bit, still charming. Jean was our very attentive waitress. Don't forget to BYOB! Consider that you will be saving a lot of money: that $10. bottle of wine might cost you $30. or more in a restaurant that serves alcohol - add tax and tip, it is $40. (you just LOST $30). It would be a very VERY bad thing for my wallet if I lived closer to Bamboo Leaf. This was actually some of the best Thai food (maybe event just food...) that I've had. For about 4 people we only ordered three dishes and it was more than enough. Each dish was packed with flavor and just so incredible tasty. The Pad See Ew stole the show and was by far everyone's favorite. The noodles weren't too heavy, the sauce was delicious and all of the veggies were crunchy and fresh. We got it with shrimp and the entire dish just blew us all away. We also got pad Thai and basil fried rice, both with chicken and they were just as incredible. On top of all of the amazingness, portion sizes were substantial and there was enough leftovers to snack on the next day. As amazing as it was (and it was amazing) it was very expensive. The three dishes came out to over $60 somehow and as much as I loved the food, that price seems like a lot. But, I can definitely try to justify it by the portion sizes and the extremely friendly team and it being the best Thai food ever. As everywhere. This place is short staffed but the employees were hustling nonstop. I think there was a little micro managing of the team from the owner who handled the orders and the payments, i believe servers can take the orders rather then be food runners only in my opinon. If we were rating only on food quality it would be 5 stars! More! The food was so good! Huge portions, lots of flavor, well cooked, fresh ingredients. But, it is so expensive! We ordered the calamari, chicken curry, beef drunken noodles and chicken pad woon Sen. They gave us beef curry and chicken drunken noodles, not too big of a deal. If I could give 3.5 stars I would... 4.5 if they gave enough food for the price you pay. Ordered takeout which took an hour-ok, fine, I get it that you're busy on a Saturday, I took this as a good sign honestly. On the menu online it says $22 for shrimp pad see ew and $12 for the chicken curry dumplings. I sent my sister in with $40 and she came back out to say it was $45 for the entree and dumplings?! Guy says "oh the menu price online is wrong" and then proceeds to add a $4 charge for using a credit card since I didn't have another $5. So we get home and for $30 for the pad see ew we got about 7 shrimp, small amount of noodles, and maybe 3 each of the veggies they put in the dish (zucchini, broccoli, carrots, baby corn.) I can't say the food wasn't good--it was. But come on, you can't skimp on veggies and noodles for a $30 dish! And 10% to use a credit card?!? I was really desperate for dinner on a Sunday in mid-May. Not a ton was open and what was, had long wait times m. The food was okay, the pork was sort of gristly and I've never had pad se sew with just random mixed vegetables in it before--crinkle cut carrots, huge broccoli heads (not gai lan) and baby corn(!?) sugar snap peas. We were seated right away but let me tell you- this place stays busy! This place is a BYOB I always get the Coconut Water at Thai spots. Its a tad sweeter than the bland ones they sell in stores and it contains coconut pulp. So good I had the small portion of the Tom Kha soup and it was a lot! But oh so yummy! So good. My friend had this too and she loved it as well. Friend had the fish cakes which were ok to me but he loved it We also had the Thai fresh summer rolls- it came with two. Fresh It was but bland. Came to this place after almost 2+ years and was pleasantly surprised with the amazing favor of the dishes! Started off with the Chicken Curry Dumplings- crispy fried with a really tasty stuffing. The outside was a little too crispy though. We ordered the Red Curry with chicken and Pad Thai with vegetables and tofu (everything Thai spicy). The Red Curry was everything you could hope for in a Thai curry - perfect amount of spice, amazing flavor, the vegetables and chicken coming together in perfect harmony. I have a feeling I'm going to be ordering this any time I come here again. Pad Thai - vegetables had a very nice char and overall it was delicious, but definitely not spicy enough when you've asked for the highest spice level. I had the chicken curry dumplings which were served with a sweet chili sauce for my appetizer which was very good! It was recommended to me my the lady who took my order. I couldn't get enough of the sweet chili sauce as I was trying to cover my whole chicken curry dumpling in it! For my entree I ordered the shrimp pad Thai which was the worst pad Thai I ever had! It had no sweet or tangy flavor the pad Thai dish is suppose to have, and it barely had any sauce on it as you can see mostly clear noodles! The shrimp it came with were also very small, and I was expecting slightly larger shrimp for $21!
