American Chinese food has a tendency to mold together into an unrecognizable amorphous blob of unremarkable nothingness but this place stands out from the abundance of plainness. At this point, I feel as though I have ordered just about every item on the menu and it's always been solid. (I recommend the sweet and sour chicken. The sauce is tremendous. This dish is especially typical at other places but here it leaves a lasting impression.) I would recommend getting your order to go because there is not a lot of seating available, but the scattered handful of tables available are usually empty. Was really craving Chinese food so my mom and I stopped by. They have a nice menu and they have a dinner special that gives you a main, fried rice, and an egg roll for around $12. Soooooo much food in each order. I also love the cream cheese wontons. Not the best Chinese food I've ever had but the eggrolls and cream cheese wontons were so good that I had to rate them highly. I tried China taste based on a recommendation from my nephew who has worked as a cook in a number of different restaurants in the area. I have to say I was very pleased with almost everything I ordered. I ordered the shrimp toast, spicy shrimp, General Tao, beef and broccoli, egg foo yong, pork fried rice, and the eggrolls. Everything was wonderful except for the eggrolls. They were very small and had a funny flavor to them. I will go back and try other things on the menu but I suggest staying away from the eggrolls. read more

We recently moved to North Branch from the cities. We were pleasantly surprised to find there is good Chinese food up here! The orange chicken is fantastic, and has some bits of orange peel in it. They have a buffet type luncheon in which you pick two meats and a rice. It is a decent price. They are quite busy during lunch so the food is often quite fresh because they are constantly replacing it. I give four stars because i know how great this place was when they first opened. I believe they have gone to either premade ingredients or to a different, less quality product. It's good, but it used to be superb. I no longer am that excited when we decide to eat here. Amazing food, Kind and Friendly staff. I love going here when I am in town to visit my daughter and grandchildren. I also like how you can see the cooks stir frying in the wok's from the counter. Been going here for years but tonight it was down right awful! We had meat wontons and they were so overcooked. Almost burnt. The regular cream cheese wontons had a strong taste of old oil. This place is delicious! We have eaten here quite a bit, and we usually come from Cambridge and skip the chinese places there in order to come here. Very good food for the area- and the people here are pretty nice. Very small area if you wanted to eat in, as most people order there, and take it home. I really do like the food here. And hey! Our family has not gotten sick here even once! =) It's obviously not "traditional" Chinese cuisine.. but very good American Chinese cuisine! Very consistent in quality, too.
