If you are not a fan of all spice, Chinese seasoning, that seasoning that taste like licorice (Star of Anise), sadly I have an aversion to it, they use it, I barely ate my food, my wonton soup was heavy with it, it made me sad, the actual sweet and sour chicken was good, but just not a fan of the yellow fried rice (I am Asian from the west coast (bay area/Sacramento) I have never seen yellow fried rice, ok, I figured oh maybe it's like Viet saffron rice, which I love! Nope! It was bland, so why is it yellow?! Where's the soy sauce in the fried rice?? but maybe that is how Chinese food is like in the Midwest. I placed my order in the drive-through. I was the only car so no customers were in front of me nor behind me so I assumed the order would be quick and easy. After 15 minutes and my food was still not done, I asked for a refund The lady walked away and I waited another minute when the "manager"came to the window and asked me to pull over to wait even longer for my food!?!! Yelpers did not disappoint. The reviews are spot on. I've driven by this very unassuming spot for many years, it is not fancy inside or out. They have a huge menu and the food was prepared fresh, it doesn't sit around and get cold. The food comes out fresh and HOT. The service is quiet but they diffidently deliver. I had the General Tso's chicken platter, it came with an eggroll and fried rice. The drink selection is limited for sure, but the tea sufficed. The crab rangoon was good too. The seafood soup stole the show for me, it was cold outside and the hot as hell seafood soup was amazing and made my day. The chicken had a spice that took a few bites to appreciate and I really liked it. I look forward to stopping here much much more. read more

Just picked up Curry Chicken, horrible!!! No flavor, no sauce, just nasty powder on the chicken! Vegetable noodles, NO flavor. Their fried rice is like red Spanish rice with peas and carrots. Great service an authentically delicious food. Finally checked this place out tonight ( Saturday). There was about 8 cars in the drive through and another 7 people inside ordering. Giving that they were making the dishes to order (we could see them) the time it took was very quick considering. Having lived in Los Angeles just blocks from China town (plus LA has a HUGE selection)...I can honestly say, this is the best Chinese food I have had anywhere. The prices are very fair as well. Basically, for 3 people we spent the same amount as we would have at Panda Express...but the quality, flavor and service was much better. So happy to have found this place. The food here is good and they have a drive thru which is super convenient, especially when it's freezing cold outside! Council Bluffs doesn't really have great Chinese food in my opinion, but this place seemed a little better compared to some of the others in the area we've tried recently. I thought the crab rangoon were good. They had a lot of filling and were crispy. The pork lo mein was also decent. Awesome "American" Chinese! Flavor of the veggies comes through (Broccoli Beef) with just the right amount of sauce. The chicken fried rice wasn't dry or over salty-the chicken was moist-so good! The Crab Rangoon were full, lots of filling! We live a good 45-50 minutes from Council Bluffs, and painfully waited till we got home to eat, everything was still hot! If you're not looking for fancy but you are wanting really tasty food this is the spot to try. The hot & sour soup is the best I've had. My general tso chicken was great too. My daughter had chicken lo mein & loved it. Everything is cooked fresh so you don't get the nasty day old taste that you get from buffet places. To start off we had crab rangoons and they were stuffed full of cream cheese, lightly fried & served up hot. The rice isn't exactly fried rice, it was yellow and lacked eggs. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, which is always a nice gesture. The menu is standard Chinese fare. Appetizers, soups, and entrees fill the sign above the checkout counter. I ordered egg drop soup with sesame chicken. I was literally sitting for a minute when my soup arrived. My food arrived five minutes later. My food was fresh, delicious and inexpensive. The restaurant does not have servers. You have to order from the counter and it is delivered to your table.
