We had an amazing dinner at Wong Hunan House which is another repeated go to spot for me and easily one of the most authentic Korean spots in town. Everything tasted homemade by the korean owners and are full of flavoring We ordered the seafood pancake, which was perfectly crisp on the outside and packed with shrimp, squid, and green onions. The soondubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) came bubbling hot with just the right spice level and fresh seafood. The jjambbong was rich and hearty with deep seafood flavors, while the galbi (short rib) was tender, sweet, and well marinated. The grilled croaker was another standout which was lightly seasoned and perfectly cooked maintaining the crisp skin and soft fish texture They also served a great variety of banchan (side dishes) everything from kimchi and pickled cucumber to soy-glazed potatoes and bean sprouts, all freshly made and deliciously prepared and allowed for 2x refill Generous portions, friendly service, and authentic Korean flavors which is a true gem for Korean food lovers. After a long day of grocery shopping I had a craving for Korean food. So of course if looking on Yelp and I find Wongs. The sweetest lady at the drive thru with a smile. I told her it's my first time here service was great even at the drive thru. So I put my order for some gal-bi black sauce noodles and some braised rib soup and I tell you when I got home WOW the first bite of the Gal-bi I was like mind blown. Took me back home with the memories of Hawaii. The interior was spacious with lots of seating. So if you looking for your fix of Korean food check this place out. It's clean and quiet. Good service. I came here because people tend to rave about the one across the parking lot, so I decided to try here first. The egg drop soup sounds s one of the better ones that I've had. Some of the staff may be from the home country so I will hold their food to a whole different standard. In others worlds not HyVee standard I ordered the bibimbap and I did get all the marvelous sides, but this was the first time I was given sesame oil and gojujang instead of chili paste and soy sauce. I still needed the soy sauce. All the sides were really good even the fish cakes, the meat was tender, could have used a little more Grill flavor. One of the sides was a sweet white potato, it was not bad. The service was friendly and fast, the place was clean and the decor reminded me of an upscale Korean diner in Koreatown in San Jose. Normally I'm very picky with Korean restaurants. I'm not a fan of Korean Chinese fusion restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised with the authenticity of the Korean dishes that we ordered here. I have moved around a lot and the thing I miss the most about home is the Korean food. We started with their Gimbap, then I ordered the Grilled Yellow Croaker and my husband ordered their Spicy Pork Bulgogi (not pictured because he started eating before I could get a picture). Such an amazing place! Love the tofu soup! If you love spicy... plus seafood.. it really is amazing. I also liked the Kimchi soup but the tofu is my favorite. My husband and I always get the 14 piece fried mandu. I also love how there's so many sides. He also is a big fan of their Galbi and their serving size is massive. Their Galbi soup is very flavorful and the meat was super tender. The beef bulgogi is also very flavorful & not spicy! This is our favorite Korean spot now. I would not recommend the Chinese food here. I have tried a couple different times here because it is close to work, but it is sub-par. The "crispy" chicken was not breaded or crispy, as described and the broccoli was not well cooked (still hard), soaked in a hot, brown, bland liquid (not a sauce, imo). It's summertime, which means their summer menu is available. Bibim Namyeong is a cold noodle dish without soup and has a mixture of kimchee, onions, and beef mixed in a sweet spicy sauce. They make this to my taste buds, and I am always selecting this dish on a hot day. The boiled egg is included, and I usually save that for the end. The secret Korean restaurant that you never knew about- hiding behind a Chinese name and a 4 page Ameri-Chinese menu. Yes, this place does have Chinese food. But- that is not nearly the reason I would recommend that you come here to dine. Wong's Hunan Garden caters heavily to Ameri-Chinese take out and I saw 8+ orders dispensed to people while I sat and ate my tofu stew. But the real authentic flavor here is the Korean page of the menu, as I believe the owners are now Korean. Besides Korea King and Korea Garden, my hunger and thirst for traditional Korean cuisine has been widely not met in Omaha. I rely on out of town trips to satisfy the hunger that builds inside of me. Jjamgpong is one of my authentic Korean food that I crave every now and then and this place checked the boxes for it! The amount of fresh seafood amazed me. Especially my favorite dish was Najogi, the sweet and sour chicken dish. Definitely need to try!!! MUST try. Stopped in Omaha on our road trip route and happily found this place was open later than most in the area. Being from NY/NJ, I was fascinated by the drive through as that doesn't exist in our state! We were explaining to the woman at the window that we thought that drive through idea was GENUIS! Anyway, the beef and broccoli was so-so, the beef was a little over cooked. The vegetable fried rice was a little bland, I needed to add a lot of soy sauce to make it tasty. However - the homemade kimchi was BOMB. I absolutely enjoyed my lunch at Wong's. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, the food came out in a timely manner and tasted great, and my drink was always full. To be honest my four stars is because I'm being picky with the sauces. With the fried WanDu, the sauce tasted like straight soy sauce with sesame seeds and green onion thrown in. I absolutely love soy sauce, but, I always look forward to the sauce that I get with potstickers. This was just a little lacking. There was no sauce in my Bibimbop. Granted, this is only the second time I've ever had Bibimbop and I have no idea if it supposed to come with sauce in it. When my meal came out I was given a bottle of what looked like hot sauce and a bottle of sesame oil. The beef had an absolutely fantastic flavor to it so I hated to add more, but, if I didn't add the sesame oil and a little soy sauce the rest of it would've been extremely dry. I had some work to do so I sat in the restaurant for almost an hour and never received any complaints from the staff or sideways glances. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to sit in a restaurant without being rushed out. Overall, Wong's probably should've gotten a five star rating from me, but, it's extremely hard for me to give a five star rating unless I absolutely can't find anything wrong or lacking. If you want Chinese or Koeren food with great staff, this is the place to go. read more

I decided to come here for lunch since I was in the area. I ordered lo main lunch specials and omg, it wasn't it. Don't get me wrong but the server mistakenly brought two crispy wonton appetizer if that's the right name for it but on his way back to the kitchen he saw that and he took it back after my mom and I were munching on them. Needless to say, he said sorry, you're only suppose to get one lol I was laughing so hard but okay sure, take it back, wasn't even all that but you know whatevaaa. My mom had ordered the bibimbap and it came out quite delicious, it also came with side dishes so that was the good part of it. I've been coming to Hunan Garden ever since I was a young kid. My dad would order pig's feet, which is super authentic Chinese cuisine, but since I can make my own decisions now I decided to try the Korean menu. Fortunately, my mom is Korean so my better half won its craving. Very quiet and small restaurant, came in during the afternoon so there were only a few other people, dining area was really clean and filled old-school decor (folding screens, ancient mock paintings, etc). Waiter was very nice, somewhat quiet, but was quick and prompt with service. I decided to get bibimbap and it was delicious! The serving size was very large and came with 6 banchan (side dishes) and the sesame oil and gochujang on the side as well. The pot was scorching hot, which makes the rice a little crispy and the vegetables were very plentiful. I think HG got it perfect - both pricing and portion (and the sunny-side up egg on top). A lot of other Korean restaurants amp up the price and portion goes down, but for 11 dollars you get a very generous portion and probably the best I've had. I wish I had a bottomless stomach, definitely will come back to try the other dishes! read more

Went there for lunch today. Wasn't sure how it would go because of current events, but I've been craving Korean food badly. Called ahead and placed my order for some Bulgogi. Happily surprised to see they have a drive through, so I picked up my order there. They've installed a plastic shield to help with distancing because of the coronavirus. Saw they were also selling homemade kimchi for $5 so I asked for that as well. When I got home I was happy to see my order came with all of the usual panchan (side dishes) all individually wrapped in plastic. Very generous portion of bulgogi, good steamed rice, excellent kimchi! Well worth the drive and money, and I'll certainly be back! read more

Wong's is a Chinese/Korean restaurant that focuses on both of those cuisines. From what I have read on here and heard from friends, the Korean is actually better than the American Chinese. We went straight Korean on this trip and got bulgogi (pork and beef). All of it was great and I also enjoyed the bonchon (side dishes) that came with it. Just plain bad! I shudder just thinking about the meal I had. I ordered take out from this restaurant and the food was just so bad it's ridiculous. It was fairly simple food - chicken lo mein, beef and chicken dinner, and Tteokbokki. The dinner was supposed to include hot and sour soup, but it turned out to be egg drop, so not only did the food taste horrible, the order was partially incorrect! The Tteokbokki was by far the worst I have ever had in my life. It's supposed to be a rice cake dish, but it looked more soupy and lacked flavor. I always want their seafood because its fresh which is something I often do not find in the middle of America. Delicious, authentic Korean food. My favorites are Bulgogi, yukkejjang, bibim bap, jajjangmyun, and the mandu. All korean dishes come with a variety of little side dishes for you to enjoy family style with your meal. The kimchi is always delicious if you're really lucky, you'll get a dish of korean pancake. Easily my favorite of the sides. They also offer standard Chinese dishes and appetizers. You can get soda and beer, but in always order a cup of borri-cha (barley tea). Hot in the winter and iced in the summer. It's so refreshing. The staff is really friendly but will mostly leave you alone unless you need something. Love this place. read more

This is the best Chinese food I've had in Omaha, and I don't think it's particularly close. Wong's has generous helpings that turn dinner into leftovers that reheat well. Wong's is a little spicy on average, but it is the perfect amount of spice. I have had EVERY Chinese restaurant in Omaha, while searching for the best General Tso's chicken, and I've finally found it. Wong's is also very fairly priced for the amount of food, it almost feels like a steal for how great it tastes. I can not recommend this place enough, go try it. read more
