Per China Woks website, they are under new management by a family that has operated multiple Chinese restaurants since 1992 China Wok on Olden Avenue in Hamilton is their newest venture. I have lived 10 minutes walking distance from China Wok for the past decade. It was me and my husbands go-to for Chinese along with Le Dish until things went downhill after COVID and I had not been back since. I wanted egg drop soup and since it had been a bit decided to give them another shot and was pleasantly surprised to see on their website that they are under new ownership. I am so glad I did as China Wok has earned back its previous 5 star rating. Look at how much egg drop soup I got! This plus the crispy noodles (which were free) was only $4.95. Talk about a steal. And this is the best egg drop soup I have ever had and I order it every time I get Chinese -- its even better than Schezhauns House's which is saying something as I literally just had it this past Saturday. China Woks is more savory, the broth is thicker and more flavorful and theres more egg. I will most definitely be back to try their Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Sweet & Sour Chicken & Pork Fried Rice which are my Chinese delivery staples. Their website & ordering on line is NO LONGER IN SERVICE. But my order went through and I got an email confirmation, which was odd. I didn't find out until I actually called the restaurant to give them my cc #. I had no choice but to call because their website instructed to call in with my cc #. Yeah, even more weird.... Stopped by to grab some take out. The neighborhood itself seems a little sketchy. They have a bathroom and parking. You can eat in or grab take out but they do not deliver. The lady was not very polite but the most important thing is the food I suppose. - It was Ok. They did charge me more for my food then what was priced on their website. When I asked, they said what I was paying was the true price. They also charged me 25 cents extra for a tiny hot oil. That is why I am rating them 2 stars. People should pay the price on the website or, it should be adjusted accordingly without random prices in the restaurant. I recommend Golden Empire in Hamilton. Everything there is on par and the food is fresh and delicious. This was my first and last time here. read more

The General Tso Chicken is amazing; you get a good size portion of real chicken and the flavor is excellent. The Egg Rolls are typical and not anything to write home about, but the spare ribs are the best, and have that actual bbq taste and flavor that was quite surprising and really good. Good food and fast service. Got the lunch special General Tsos chicken and I enjoyed it. Came out nice and hot and the rice was not too salty which is what I usually find at takeout spots. The egg roll was easily the highlight of my meal. The corner unit in this strip mall has always been a chinese take out restaurant. But unfortunately in the past or this time around I must say fortunately has changed hands yet again. In its latest avatar, it is a very clean take out place. Infact I must say that this is the cleanest chinese joint in the area. Tried the chicken wonton soup and must say that the broth was simple and clean. Good comfort factor as the weather starts to cool down. Looking at one of my friend's reviews plus the initial impression, I'm very tempted to do a take out order pretty soon. If you haven't tried this place, I think you'll be in for a pleasant surprise. My girlfriend and I ordered our first meal from here a couple of weeks ago. We got egg drop soup and wonton soup to start. Both were very tasty and had just the right amount of salt. We also got a spring roll and egg roll, both also tasted great. Crunchy and not greasy. For the main courses we got chicken and black bean sauce, house special chow fun, and house special fried rice. Every dish was fantastic. All the different proteins had no fat on them, and all of the different vegetables were 100% fresh, and absolutely delicious. The portions were also extremely generous. I usually enjoy ordering food from there, however never again. I'm one person and on the menu it clearly says $12 min. However, I was told that it's a $30 min because I live 3 miles away and not within 2 miles. It DOES NOT say that anywhere on the menu. To top it off, I have the flu and they did not care. read more

This place is my usual go to - and fine, as long as you pick your food up. They have a lovely elderly delivery man, John, with a perpetual attitude problem and clear disdain for life. I placed an order tonight at 6:30, at 7:50 still no food so I called - they thought I had already gotten it. Said they were calling him. He then called me and asked my building number. I said I didn't know. He said he was by building 5 and that I better figure it out or he's going to be here all night, I went outside and looked. He then got suuuuuuper nasty with me. I hung up on him. Called and complained, they said they were calling him. He finally shows up. I made my husband answer the door, and he made some comment that "oh I've been here before," then started ranting about the building number again. Somehow ended up screaming at husband and told him to go f*** himself. This isn't the first unpleasant I (or others I know) have had with him. He makes it very well known that he doesn't appreciate having to climb stairs to get to your door. Friendly staff, but horrible food. This evening was the first time I ordered from this chinese restaurant and I am highly dissatisfied. Every time I order Chinese food, I order the same meal Chicken w/Garlic Sauce as it is my fav. Knowing what I know now I should have went with my gut and kept it simple by ordering Chicken with Broccoli because not every Asian restaurant can prepare Chicken w/Garlic sauce the way I prefer (i.e tangy plus spicy). So I was completely skeptical. Based on the reviews within, I went ahead and ordered from this location. What a waste of money. In addition to the Chicken w/Garlic sauce, I also ordered the scallion pancakes in which taste like dough as the pancake was not fried all of the way. I'm like how could you mess this up, all you're doing is "frying" it. Well, I sure was eating dough tonight until I stopped. Then the chicken w/garlic sauce was filled with too much garlic, heavily diluted, and bland. The broccoli was over cooked and not fresh. I served one serving, and discarded the rest. So, overall I spent $13 on a meal that I didn't get to enjoy and now I am hungry because I didn't eat all of it. Not sure how this spot got good reviews, I guess to each his own because this by far was the worst Chicken w/Garlic sauce I've ever ingested. read more

Terrible customer service!!! I ordered my food at 6:18pm and they told me 45 minutes delivery. I didn't get my food until over an hour and it wasn't my order. They delivered the wrong order to me. I called them right away and they blamed the driver. I noticed the receipt was correct and stapled to the wrong order. I told them it wasn't the driver mistake. They said they are too busy and I need to wait another 45 minutes. I'm not sitting at home watching TV and have dinner. I work overnight and I need to leave in an hour to go to work. I told them forget about it and refund my money and I will never order from you ever again. That's the great customer service you get from them after they are delivered the wrong food to you.
