Pork Fried Rice

Have been going here for years and enjoyed their food but currently the prices skyrocketed and quality plummeted | when I asked why a pint of pork fried rice was $8.50 they told me that there is a tip included and the cost of their rent is high.....I used to like their pork fried rice but on this occasion it was bland, tasteless and very dry.

Always nice service. Food is good and place is clean. They are only open until 9pm and 10 on Fridays and Saturdays

While not exactly in the neighborhood, Hunan Garden in Allentown, NJ, is a worthwhile trip if better than average Chinese/American cuisine is what you have a yen for. I drove there for lunch this week and had a pleasant late lunch is a very clean house. The owner (Jerry) was affable and happy to engage in conversation, especially since I was the only customer. I asked why he chose this name, and he explained that although he and his wife were from Fuzhou, he thought he needed to appeal to a broader audience than the traditional Canton styled dishes. Add some heat to the menu and they will come. He suggested adding spice to the General Tso's Chicken, and I agreed. The platter arrived about 10 minutes later looking like the sauce was a deeper red than normal, and indeed I could see that chili sauce had been added to the mix. I liked the flavor and the quantity of the chicken used, but the breading was a bit thick and hid the texture and freshness of the fowl. The Fried Rice was pretty good. Jerry admitted that he could not focus on authentic native dishes due to the demographics around this ex-urban scene. But, given advanced notice, he was more than willing to prepare whatever anyone wanted. Hunan Garden is certainly a positive surprise to be found in a mini strip center on the outskirts of Allentown. I will return.

Lo mein

We were their last take out customer of the night. When I got home and dished some lo mein into a bowl for my daughter, I noticed a clump of hair coming out with the noodles. Not a single strand but a clump! If you zoom in you'll notice dust at the center of the clump. So gross! My only guess is they dropped my food on the floor, picked it up and packaged it to go. Obviously I'll never order from this restaurant again

The food tasted good .. probably the best general Tsos shrimp I've ever had..... Since there is a dine-in option I wish there was hot tea available . Wasn't a fan of all of the baby stuff all around the floor and tables. Make it neat. We weren't getting properly taken care of because the lady was so focused on that child who was crying the entire time . That's not a good dining experience to me. I have a child which I also had with me so I understand ..... just not what I want from owners of the place . Wouldn't have eaten in if I knew that .. but now I know .

Easily my favorite chinese place. Everything always comes out smoking hot and delicious. My favorites include their sesame chicken, general tso, and dishes with garlic sauce. Items designed spicey actually have spice to them, unlike many other restaurants. The service is pleasant, with an extremely clean environment. They are not set up restaurant style, but they don't feel like the typical dumpy takeout place either. There is quite a bit of seating which is great for those of us who stop in for lunch. For anyone in the Allentown area, I highly recommend going here at least once.

Wouldn't recommend going here on a hot day to eat because it can get very hot inside. Great food. Great Service and cheap prices!

For this year's Chinese New Year, I decided to take the family there for our New Year dinner, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The place hasn't changed a bit, the decor still looks exactly how I remember it, which brought back memories. Since some of my family and friends don't enjoy the same spice level as I do, we adjusted the heat for dinner, and everything still came out fantastic. We ordered the whole steamed fish, happy fish, green beans, tea smoked duck, pork chop, beef pan fried noodles, and more. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The service was a bit tentative at times, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to celebrate. I definitely need to come back more often.

It seems that both the pepper steak and chicken with broccoli were in the same sauce (& I've actually found that to be common in this area for some reason) but were tasty overall. The egg roll was quite greasy and the wonton soup was pretty solid with the broth being the star. Oh the white rice was cooked how I expect and wish all Chinese white rice is cooked so that's a plus. Overall a true 3.5 star rating but since halves aren't possible I had to go to 3 because it certainly wasn't a 4.

The delicate…read morewontons were packed with flavorful filling and coated in a rich, aromatic chili oil that delivered the perfect balance of heat, spice, and savory depth. The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. The texture combination of silky wrappers and bold sauce made it an unforgettable starter. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. If you enjoy dishes with a little spice and a lot of flavor, the wontons in chili oil are absolutely worth ordering. I would definitely come back just for them.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area. Best of the best - very highly recommended!

The food comes out lightning fast. Everything is very reasonably priced. Best of all, it's all delicious. I tried stuff outside of my comfort zone and I loved it all. My favorite were the pork juicy buns (soup dumplings) but the most unique thing was the pan fried noodle which was like a crispy deep fried noodle that would soften as it sat in the sauce. The golden lava buns were sweet and rich and perfect for dessert.

We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.
