First time here. My wife and I took out quite a few dishes (things like sweet and sour pork, shrimp with lobster sauce, etc) and had people over for a business meeting in our home. Everyone was thrilled with the food. Each of these individuals is from various big cities around the USA. There are major sections of NYC and SF, for example, that have "Chinatowns" where the food is authentic and absolutely delicious. The quality and flavors offered by this restaurant here in our very own North Port reminded us all of the Chinese restaurants we have visited in places like Manhattan and San Fransisco. I ordered beef broccoli and crab ragoon. I called and asked when I could expect it after an hour. They said it had not been prepared yet. I asked if they would ring the doorbell when it arrived and was assured it they would. The delivery person didn't ring the doorbell or knock and the food was cold when I finally discovered it. I've lived near military installations where there are nothing but Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, and other asian eaterys. I have traveled and had the best. While this is not the best I've ever had they are also not the worst. They are however the best Chinese food you will find any where near North Port, Port Charlotte or Punta Gorda. BTW Kumo steakhouse sucks and is overpriced. They have great Krab Rangoon, fried rice, egg foo yung, orange chicken and more. The 5 stars is for the area (North Port). This place has below average food, but if you're hungry, the portion size is enormous. One entree is enough to feed 2 adults easily. I just wish there was SOMEPLACE in North Port that had really good Asian food. Sadly, there is not. It's not just China Wockery-it's EVERY Asian restaurant in North Port/Port Charlotte. We are new to North Port and we finally decided to try a Chinese take-out. What a mistake China Wokery was!. For 2 combo plates, an order of a small crab rangoon and a order of a small boneless spareribs came to over $33!!! The quality and taste of the food was dismal. The pork fried rice had itty bitty morsels, smaller than the size of the rice, of pork where you could even taste them. The chicken chow main, while having chicken, was mostly onion and celery. The shrimp low mein was okay and so was the crab rangoon. However the egg rolls were gross and I'm not sure what was in the boneless spare ribs, and if it was pork, it was old! The taste was the worst I've ever had!! I couldn't even eat it. And that small container was as expensive as the 2 combos at over $8! Will never eat there again! SO disappointed! read more

I've ordered twice to ensure the first time was just a one time issue. It wasn't. Both times were around 6 pm. Each time I ordered, I ordered large menu food items. What came was small oval containers with the main dish and side. It was very small and barely fed us. $37.00 total for two of us should have left us more than full with leftovers. When I typically order from Chinese restaurants, I get a full quart in a box container, not a small tray. Did they do away with traditional containers? In addition, the food coloring was off as was the quality and quantity of bits of meat and vegetables. I could have had a quality steak dinner for the price. Never again. read more

Best Lo mein I've ever had and is still my favorite place to get it today. I've had Lo mein at many Chinese places and for some reason, idk quite what it is, I just love it here. It's been an establishment in North Port for a long time. It's nothing fancy and I can't speak for any of their other dishes because I never get anything else. But I've never gotten sick or anything eating here and I've eaten here quite a bit throughout the years. read more

Since my first review in November the way this restaurant prepares food has changed. Much more cornstarch is being used to thicken the sauces that cover every dish, making dishes that are supposed to have thin sauces or even no sauce at all very unpleasant to eat. The new sauces are so thickly congealed on the entrees that they cannot be scraped off. An additional problem is that the hot entrees are served in styrofoam containers, which melts the styrofoam that is in contact with the food. Personally, my husband and I don't want to eat anything that has melted styrofoam. Having hot food is great, but the containers at China Wokery need to be replaced with something that will not melt from contact with it. The staff here are still very nice, friendly people and we hope they are able to improve both situations so their business can succeed. read more

I haven't been here in a long time, but I found things had changed a lot. There is plenty of help and everyone has a black and red uniform which is very professional. There is a manager who explained what an item was so I knew what I was getting. Everything was delicious and large portions. Fast service as well. If you haven't gotten takeout from there, try it. Food was ok. I've had better Chinese elsewhere. Egg Rolls were good and so was the fried rice however I've had better General Tso's chicken, and the bourbon chicken did not even taste like bourbon sauce but rather a type of gravy. Also, the Teriyaki beef didn't taste like teriyaki. Looking for delivery places is limited but I'm going to look elsewhere. read more

We ordered dinner for delivery on Father's Day, June 18, 2017. We ordered the House Special Fried Rice, Chicken Curry and Scallops in Garlic sauce. As soon as we started to open up the dishes, we noticed that the Scallops in Garlic sauce were non-existent and so I called to complain to the restaurant. The woman who answered the phone said, you have to search for them they're very small. I kept searching and told her I didn't see any. She called the manager for me to talk to, but then hung up on us. I called back and she said that we had gotten disconnected. I again was told she would get the manager, but all I heard was this man yelling to her in what I'm guessing was Chinese and she said he told us to bring it in if we wanted a refund. I told her I just paid $1.50 delivery charge and a $6.00 tip so that I didn't have to leave the house, so that wasn't going to happen. After more searching I saw something that I thought looked like water cress so I tried it and I think it was the scallops. It appears to me that they took one scallop and sliced it into 4 or 5 pieces. Who does that? Tons of vegetables, carrots, broccoli, peppers, etc., and sauce but one scallop that was sliced into pieces about the size of a nickel. This dish was $12.95, crazy! We did not eat it, so it is still in my refrigerator. Waiting to see if my credit card company wants us to bring it in so didn't throw it out. The curry chicken we didn't have a problem with, but the house fried rice was mediocre at best. You had to look to find anything, small peas, and bits of carrots, 3 shrimp, bits of pork, nothing large and tasteless. Besides the disappointing meal, they were extremely rude. I will never order from them again. This is the first time I can remember writing a bad review, but they deserve it. I tried to send this with no stars, but wouldn't let me! read more

We used to order a lot for home or to our business for lunch. We were always pleased until they decided going cheap not too long ago. Nothing was cut up and thrown in the container in big chunks, my wife's chicken was not cooked at all and still pink. The soup was all greasy and had no flavor at all. We called to complain and they got upset and offered a 10 dollars credit on a 45 dollars bill... I don't want a credit because that was the last time for us. Then they said we could stop by and drop off the food. Yep, I'm gonna do this, that was the whole point in ordering to get in the car and bring the food back. Rude and bad food now.
