I really like the layout of the shop, the way the books are displayed, the diverse offerings of holiday books for children, and the way they fit the folding chairs to attend the author event. What a treasure trove of incredible books, all at great prices!…read more Friends of Library groups are such an incredible force and I'm so inspired by the Friends of Webster Library for running this wonderful store, the proceeds of which benefit the Webster library and other east side branches. I stopped by one afternoon and could have spent all afternoon browsing! I was lucky enough to snag a few copies of Demon Slayer, a few Julia Turshen cookbooks, a Christmas movie, and more! The prices were great - I don't think anything was more than a few dollars. The staff was really friendly and pointed out a second Julia Turshen book when they saw one in my pile. I'll definitely be visiting the Book Cellar again! To enter the Book Cellar, enter the library branch and walk straight ahead. You'll see a sign that will guide you down the stairs to the book shop. This location is more come inside, read if you want, but it is very small (that may be the standard now with brick and mortar B&N's being decimated), but inside was extremely clean, and the vibe was on point. The actual books were sorted very well and structured so you can navigate easily through. I had a great time going through both educational history, fantasy, as well as manga!!! We were only in here for 30 minutes or so. It doesn't have your coffee shop (in past usually Sbux as channel partners)or seating but set your expectations. It's near a Whole Foods, and if you ever want to come in for a quick read or to buy a book, the atmosphere, vibe, selection - was fantastic. Can't give it anything but 5 stars.

The store occupies an entire six-story townhouse with various sales floors specializing in first editions, Americana, leather bindings, antique maps and prints, and autographs. The store is also noted for a wide selection of bargain books I found them out front. Argosy also has its own framing and shipping departments and owns a large warehouse in Brooklyn. For a book lover this is paradise. I find it's a great place to buy gifts too. I'm highly recommending!

Over the past year, the quality of their customer service has declined significantly. The most recent interaction the women who answered the phone had a very nasty unprofessional attitude. This can be extremely dishearten if you are in crisis. It creates the impression that customers are an inconvenience rather than a priority. In addition, their selection of 12-step program literature has become extremely limited. Materials that were once consistently available are now difficult to find, which is particularly disappointing for those who depend on these resources. Overall, the level of service and support no longer reflects the standards they once maintained. Based on my recent experiences, I cannot recommend this business and would suggest looking elsewhere for more reliable assistance and access to materials.
