Hence, one of the unique features of their utopian water playground is a water elevator, touted back then as "the world's only". Located on the pool's lowest level, a mysterious stainless steel door is built into the manmade rock feature, visible halfway out of the water. The attendant opens said door to reveal an open-air chamber, with a circular platform and tube wrapped in thick rope which is what you sit on for the ride. About 6-8 people can ride at once depending on size. The door closes, followed by a waterfall that pours into the chamber from above, in turn lifting the tube to the top of the chamber. This brings you to the upper most level of the tiered pools where you can begin your journey to the bottom again via several slides, rapids and lazy river. OVERALL: Still the most fun hotel pool on Maui.

Mayor hannibal tavares center has been around for over 10 years. If you have a reception in the community center it could hold a few hundred people. With many parking stalls. Right now it's going they a renovation so I'm excited what it'll look like when it's finished. So be prepared because the hall and the d.m.v. will be closed until next year. So no parties and no renewing your license here until next year.. booooo!

There's a great big community meeting room, and the kitchen, as well as smaller meeting rooms all on the upper floor. Downstairs are various services including the department of motor vehicles upcountry office. What a great place to have a party for a wedding or graduation and invite everybody you know. There are beautiful views of the ocean and central valley, including Molokai and the west Maui Mountains. Step out on the covered lanai to get some fresh air and enjoy the views. The vast central space has an open beam ceiling making for great acoustics. This is a real highlight of the community in Pukalani.

This is an incredible swimming facility with three different types of pools: (1) large 50 meter x 8…read morelanes , set up for swim meets or blocked no off for 25 meter swim lanes and diving sections in the deep end; (2) 4-foot tapered to 2-foot for water aerobics classes, disabled swim lanes and children's or non swimmers play area; (3) shallow 1+ foot kiddie pool with water fountains and gated perimeter for safety. There is no fee charged. Appropriate number of lifeguards are on duty. They are always professional and personable. Showers outdoors and in the restrooms/ locker rooms are available for mandatory showers before swimming. The facilities are well maintained. This place is quite amazing!!!

We found out about this oceanside swimming pool (250 feet long)from the Big Island Revealed app…read more It's five feet deep in some spots. Bring your water shoes and snorkel gear! It's 2.7 miles north of the corner from Highway 132 and 137 (so, go North on Government Beach Road). This is a paved road. Around 2.7 miles, you'll come across a small hill, on the downside of the hill, you'll see a dirt road on your right through a hau bush (twisted looking trees that are entwined). If you hit Pakaka Road, you went too far. There is no parking lot. There is a small one-spot parking space that you can back into (perpendicular to the road). There are two roadside beams indicating this spot. You can also park along the road. From Government Beach Road, on the dirt road, it's 1500 feet to the shoreline. The pool is 100 yards to the left once you hit the shoreline. I do not recommend driving down the path to the shoreline because the branches are low and it's super muddy. It's an easy walk. Towards the shoreline, you'll see an abandoned turquoise minivan. It's obvious that someone was squatting in the van at some point. The engine has been torn out, windows broken, carry-out boxes everywhere, and the rainforest has started to entwine itself with the car. On the coast, there were more signs of squatters. The pool was beautiful. We went during high tide and the pools were super full and the waves were crashing hard against the rocks. The app said we should go during low tide...whoops. We didn't run into a single person. It was super secluded and beautiful. Although the walk was really neat through the hau bush and having an oceanside swimming pool to ourselves was cool...I would not do this again. Honestly, I didn't feel safe. We didn't see any squatters but the signs made me uneasy. There is no cellphone signal and your completely isolated. I recommend this for large groups of people only.

Great hours, and the staffs are friendly. Not too crowded and although I remembered it always being freezing cold, the temps were actually not too bad. Has a swim area for children and a deeper area, though warning that it is pretty deep. There's a designated lap area with lanes as well. Really love this pool and happy I got a chance to come back and swim here again!
