WTF Both of them need to be fired! They wouldnt give me the boards info because they knew they messed up. Awful place. Warehouse. Animals in animals out. I felt the beagles were getting great care. I took my dog in to Alpine this past Nov. 13. for a blood test. I was told results would come in 24 to 48 hours. there was never a call. EIGHT days later, I called. Asked for the results was told the Vet was busy. I called on Nov 26th. And asked them to mail them to my house. I called several days later. Asked again. they said they would. Today is Dec 6th.....still no results! I complained again and asked for a full refund. This brings me to the other issue....,as I was paying they verbally told me the total cost $215.00, when I got home the receipt said $298.00! Some would say this was a bait and switch deal. Just what the bloody hell did I pay $298.00 for?????? They didn't even take her temperature! they took her from the room was there an actual blood test??? Found a new Vet. Always do your research!

They now have one single vet assistant (not even a vet tech!) at night to check on things apparently. Reassuring right? This is one of the worst vet offices in the county. The above example of not wanting to pay someone qualified for overnight care of sick animals should be the first clue... they are 100% about making the most amount of money possible. Their appointments are always triple or quadruple booked. They seem to cheap out on everything, from the run down building to the poorly maintained kennel in the back. Some of the veterinarians there seem good at their jobs, but there are plenty of better run, cleaner and more ethical vets in town.

I appreciated being able to have them come same day, to my house, and avoid the stress of the local emergency vet. The only thing was, and is common these days with any vet- it was so spendy. There was a travel fee of $45 (from Philomath to South Town Corvallis) Plus an urgent fee of $57. It did seem excessive, and unfortunate after 3 car repairs on my end. One thing I would love to suggest for vets is to offer a "Good Samaritan Fund" of adding $2-$5 on other services, or rounding up of change, to make end-of-life care cheaper for everyone. No one wants to go through the sad grief of losing a pet (sometimes instantly, sometimes shocking) to then be shocked and grieved with the large vet bill, just to say goodbye. Yes, it had to be done- but I think a Samaritan Fund would lend such a helping hand and ease the stress during those extremely sad moments.

I am a…read moreresident of Portland, and when I found out that my dog had a chipped tooth I went to a specialist (which shall remain nameless...) in town. I was told a root canal was probably the best thing to try for and it would be between $2,000 and $3,000. I was desperate for another option and after calling around I found Eastgate. The first woman who answered the phone was very polite and helpful. She referred me to Dr. Van. I left a message with Dr. Van who called me back just a few minutes later. She was so honest and helpful! She had me text her pictures of my dog's problem tooth and called me back the same day. She gave me a different recommendation (which will be much less expensive and better for my dog's health) AND she took the time on the phone to fully explain why and answer my questions. This was, hands down, the best experience I've ever had talking to a vet! If you're anywhere in the state of Oregon and your pet has a tooth problem, go to Eastgate and ask for Dr. Van. She is awesome.

We can't say enough about the quality of care and the compassion for animals that we have experienced here. Dr. Moses and staff patiently explain procedures and answer all of our questions about raising two older dogs. Follow up phone calls are a nice touch as well. We wouldn't even consider taking our dogs anyplace else. You shouldn't either.
