i had to take my cat here on 11pm on a saturday night. i've had emergencies with my cats in the past and they had been too busy to see me. but this time, they were able to accept me and my cat. i'm beyond thankful we have a 24/7 vet in corvallis. during the time i was waiting, the staff were kind and patient. the waiting area had instrumental music playing and fish in an aquarium and a variety of hot drinks for free. when it's late, and you're worried for your pet, it's the little things that make or break the experience. i had to leave my cat there for about 3 days. they kept in regular contact with me, leaving me detailed VMs if they missed me, and answering all my questions if i caught the call. and being extra courteous if the call was at 2am. this is the first time i've had to deal with a situation like this so i don't know the context of the pricing, but i assume a 24/7 vet would be more expensive than normal and im ok with that. my cat came home happy and back to normal. im very thankful for the many people who helped me and my cat. and i will probably start scheduling my regular vet appointments with them. read more

My 8 year old Kitty became very lethargic, stopped eating and was very warm on the 22nd of December. He was not better by the 23rd hence I rang the ER Vet in Salem only to be told they were overwhelmed with patients and could not accept any more that night. They referred me to the Covallis Willamette Veterinarly Hospital. After a 50 + minutes, pouring rain drive from Salem with my very sick cat, I arrived and was warmly greeted by Isabella. After the vet had evidently seen my sick kitty I was presented an estimate of costs to perform what they deemed necessary tests. The estimate had 2 columns one the "high" and one the "low"; one was over $1900 and the other over $1300. I was honest and told them I could not afford these extreme costs. after some conversation I was told I could have fewer tests done but nothing would be conslusive as to his ailment. After 5 hours I was given RX's for pain and nausea for Kitty, neither made sense to me but as it was after 4 a.m. I chose to take him home and try this treatment. He did not improve on the 23rd and I took him to the Salem Emergency Vet where he was diagnosed with a bacterial infection and given IV hydration and antibiotics. I picked him the 25th at 10 p.m. much improved and has continued to get better daily. He had RX's for antibiotics and an appetite stimulant. My time at the Corvallis Vet was a waste of time & money. read more

I know it can be hard to wait, but I also understand that more severe cases are taken first. The price was very reasonable and I feel as if he was well taken care of. They appear to spend more time crunching numbers and discussing charges than treating your dog right away. Despite spending thousands of dollars for our dog's care, the staff was not accommodating and couldn't even provide a plastic bag for our soiled blanket. We started using WVH when our Vet. office in Florence closed, during COVID, because our son lived near WVH, and we always had a positive experience. Just last week, we were back, sadly, for an end of life visit for my wonderful 14yo labrador "Pepper". The facilities and entire staff were absolutely the best. They have a dedicated room with a sofa and private outdoor enclosed patio for a final little outside sniff/walk. They use 'clickers' so you can spend time with your pet and then let them know when to come back in. End of life is so difficult with our furry family members, the absolutely smooth, caring process that we had at WVH helped make a really really difficult day go just a little less terrible. read more

I am heartbroken to share the experience I had with Willamette Veterinary Hospital. Over Labor Day weekend, I brought my small dog in for what should have been a simple but urgent issue: an infected tooth that needed to be addressed with antibiotics. After driving an hour and a half and waiting seven hours, she was finally seen -- but was not given antibiotics, despite my direct request and despite her clear need. She was sent home with only an antiseptic rinse and an appetite stimulant. By the next morning, the untreated infection had spread through her tiny body. When I brought her back, we drove another hour and a half and waited nearly four more hours as she rapidly declined. She went limp in my arms before they even took her back. Only then was I presented with a nearly $7,000 estimate for a procedure she would not have survived, while staff acted as though it would "save" her. What she had needed -- the day before -- was a simple shot of antibiotics. I asked to hold her in her final moments. Staff told me they would provide euthanasia free of charge due to the situation, but no one ever returned to perform it. She died in my arms in the room, and only afterward did staff come in to check if she truly had no heartbeat. To make matters worse, as I left in shock and grief, staff followed me out the door asking for payment, even though I had already paid for their "services" the day before. Since then, instead of receiving compassion, I have received texts, emails, and mailed notices demanding $73.30 -- charging late fees and threatening to send me to collections. I have called three times to resolve this and no one who can help is ever available. This entire ordeal was traumatizing, heartbreaking, and unacceptable. My dog deserved better. All animals deserve better. I hope no one else has to experience what we went through. read more

Promised care for my dog, who was in a lot of pain, I drove an hour and a half to get here, then waited seven hours. Unfortunately, someone showed up with a dead cat in a box just as we were about to be seen. The staff at Willvet refer to the "activity" of being dead as "coding," and it takes precedence over everything else because they make thousands of dollars in hopeless efforts to raise the dead. The guy with the dead cat even stopped and went to the bathroom on the way in, with his dead-cat-in-a-box, betraying the obvious hopelessness of the situation. Then there was a shift change, and the new vet on duty reviewed the list of patients. Finding my dog insufficiently important, because she suffered in silence, they banished us. After eight hours of waiting they sent us home. I drove an hour and a half home, exhausted, and her emergency situation exploded overnight. I awoke to blood and gore. Luckily the local vet was able to help right away and we got her sorted, but the amount of extra suffering she had to endure as a direct result of their greed was unforgivable. They could have directed us in the first place to another emergency vet, but no, they wanted to have us there just in case they ended up having time to treat my dog too, since any time without a treatment they are not making money. They literally prioritized making more money over my pet's suffering. I've spoken to other veterinary practices about what happened here, and no one else in the region does this. No one else prioritizes the treatment of corpses over obviously suffering living animals. No one else promises treatment and then, eight hours later, sends pets and owners away without even treating them for the pain. Willvet is motivated by greed. If you get lucky and bring your pet with an urgent situation when they happen not to be overloaded, they're pretty good vets, although they do seem to try to upsell unnecessary tests. But I don't recommend bringing an actual urgent situation here unless your pet is literally bleeding out. read more

Had the worst experience I've ever had at a vet this week. This vets office literally just wants to take your money. This past weekend my dog got on the counter and ate a raw pork chop with the bone. In the night she started having diarrhea, but was still acting normal. I decided to take her into the vet just to make sure she was okay. This was the only office that could get me in that day. I go into the office and the vet tech comes in and listens to her heart and checks her teeth. Next, the vet comes in and hands me an estimate for $1800 for an xray. He doesn't say hi to my dog, doesn't examine her, he doesn't even touch her. He just handed me the estimate and told me that he thinks it could turn into emergency surgery. Again, he never even examined her or touched her belly or literally anything. I told him that I would not be paying that much money for an xray because she is still acting completely normal and eating her food, drinking water and playing. He proceeds to tell me that it could get really scary really fast and attempts to scare me into getting this xray done. I said no and he ended up giving me probiotics and a dewormer. The next day the vet calls to check on her and says that I can give her psyllium husk to help with her bowel movements. He called a full 24 hours after I went in to tell me this, when he could've told me while I was there. I genuinely believe this vet was looking to make as much money off of me as possible and scare me into spending thousands of dollars for no reason. It is now the end of the week and my dog is perfectly fine. I don't typically leave reviews for businesses, but this experience was so bad that I had to share in hopes that others don't get taken advantage of. I asked around about this vets office and continue to hear the same thing- they rip you off. read more

I was reading through all of the reviews here and was surprised by some of the negative comments. First, you have to know that this is a triage hospital. The vets' environment likely changes by the minute. My sense is that there is also a vet shortage at the moment. And depending on when you show up- they are working, even if it's 3am. To take care of yourself, please consider an insurance policy for your pet. The $25 a month I pay has paid for itself more than once. The time to get this policy is in the first month of the animal's life and if you start later in life you just have to shop around. My cat came away 100% recovered but not wo some scary moments. She went in at 10pm on Friday right before our ice storm. The tech said my wait could be in excess of 2 hours but took my cat to the back right away to assess if she was stable. She was - fever of 104.5 but otherwise ok. At 1 am the doc came out with an early assessment and needed to run tests to rule some issues out. She also wanted to get some pain meds and fluids going. I learned alot from the doc. She asked if I wanted an assessment before we started. This would allow me to pick and choose the next steps and with the insurance 80% of what they showed me would me covered so it was easy to say yes to all. This first step included some lab panels: Blood and urine work that they assess in house and an X-ray that they might need help reading - radiologist is off site. The doc said they wanted to at least get pain meds on board and fluids going and wanted to observe her. Two to three hours. I had to get some friends down to Eugene by 330 am for an early flight so I had to pay before I left and I had to come back or my sense is this would turn into a hospitalization and more money for me. That made sense to me. I then wondered how many people just leave their pets when they can't pay and then the vet now has to make other decisions. I got back at 430 am and the vet said likely they would have to wait until 6am to get the radiologists input. I asked if I could go home and come back. She let me and said 7am would be fine. I came back and the doc said that her blood and urine panels came back normal. She was perplexed by her fever however. So she sent me home w some pain meds and anti biotics and told me to watch her carefully the next 24 hours. My cat didn't eat or drink the next day. I called WV about every 6 hours w an update and they updated My cats notes for the doctor. The ice storm began on this day. The tech also recommend monitoring my cats fever. Petco has digital recital thermometers that are easy to use. On Saturday night at 6pm I called and asked if I should bring the cat back in. The front desk person consulted w a doc and let me know it could be a 5-6 hour wait because my cat was somewhat stable. She said it would be $100 to bring her in as an emergency appt and less if I made a progress review appt for Sunday. We made a plan. If her fever went over 104.5 I would bring her in. I took her temp every hour and it was stable around 104°. They also put me on a wait list in case the ER emptied out. At midnight since the ER was full I made a 930am follow up appt for Sunday which is less than an ER appt. $60 or so. Good lesson there and the staff encouraged the less expensive appt. On Sunday, in spite of all the ice, the staff was was there on duty. Because I had an appointment the doctor saw us right away. We changed course a little bit because the cat wasn't eating or drinking and I got some liquid pain meds and feeding syringe in case you didn't start eating soon. Then there was a debate about a antibiotic injection that lasts for two weeks. Since she wasn't eating or drinking, we decided this was a good plan. It's not the best defense for an infection, but I will tell you it likely worked. I was also given the option to pay for a couple other panels and I will tell you with insurance, it's nice not to have to worry about the cost of these. In the meantime, Alpine vet hospital, which was closed, and Willamette vet were communicating. Alpine vet is my regular vet. I did have to call Alpine to make sure they got my cats records -- you do need to advocate for your pets -- everybody's busy. Fast forward to Tuesday and my cat is eating and drinking on her own now. I believe the antibiotic took her fever down and she's no longer on pain meds. In between all of this, I was calling Willamette vet and leaving messages for the front office about her progress. I didn't expect a call back at all and let them know that. Today I am hopeful we will get the lab results back to see what this was. We are thinking it was either from a fall or she ate a bird that might've had a bacterial infection like salmonella. All in all a great experience with great communication and problem solving w all the staff. Hats off to Dr. Profita and Dr. Porter - both women rocked this process. read more

You might think that after waiting in my car for seven hours with my shih-tzu (they had to treat her as potentially contagious) before we were brought in for care, I'd be leaving a review with less than five stars. But this is an emergency hospital, and the only emergency I had was a dog who needed her eye checked (it had leaked a little yellow discharge and seemed to be causing her pain) on a Friday night when no one else was open. The hospital originally gave me an estimate of 3-4 hours, but not long after that they had an urgent surgery to manage with most of their staff consumed by it instead of seeing other patients for a while, and it's a triage hospital so I am sure other animals needed more immediate help. They were very clear how the process worked and set expectations well, and then checked on me after a couple hours to see if I needed water or anything to keep comfortable while we waited. When we were finally brought in is why they earned as many stars as I can give them. I wish I could remember the name of the nurse, but she was incredibly caring and seemed to authentically love the work of caring for animals. She listened attentively to what my dog was experiencing, asked great follow-up questions, and continuously set expectations well about the experience. Dr. Weston was overseeing our case and had some specific tests she wanted permission to run in order to narrow down what was causing my dog pain in her eye. She explained the results of the test in detail, and was thorough in making sure I was able to see the evidence of the test results and felt confident in the diagnoses. It was 2:30AM and I was worried about the health of my senior aged dog I love, and was grateful to even have an option for somewhere to take her. I would have never guessed what caused the issues she was having were what she was shown to have going on (an auto-immune issue causing dry eye, which is likely why she scratched her cornea which then caused an ulcer to form). But the staff was kind and impressively attentive as possible given the environment is an emergency triage hospital for animals, and Dr. Weston was outstanding in quickly providing the exact care needed to get my girl on the road to recovery. I went home relieved and impressed - I hope to never need emergency vet services again, but I would come here again if I ever did and feel confident my dogs will be well taken care of and that the people who work here authentically care about the animals and their humans :) read more

My dog was hurt and in pain. Even a call back with "we can't see you we are too busy" would have been more appropriate than nothing at all. We could have driven to another place instead of waiting. COMMUNICATE better. I made.an appointment for my female Rottweiler for her annual shots and a concern about her eye. Drove over from the Coast (over) 1 hour) travel time. When we arrived we called and let them know we had arrived. They said to stay in your car. They were under construction and we couldn't come in. After waiting over 1/2 hour They came.out and took.the dog. They came back out with the dog and asked me to put the drops in her eyes and administer medication in her nose. Which I did with no issues. They were obviously frightened of her. She had a muzzle on which we provided. The vet examined her in the back of our SUV. He did not look at scar tissue on her back leg or examine her knee. Stated she would need to be sedated and we would need to come back another time. I was very disappointed. If there had been better communication, I would have rescheduled for another time. $400+ later my.dog.basivally received her vaccines and a partial exam. No credit for my assistance. I left reassured that together we are doing everything necessary to keep my old dog comfortable & happy. Despite some of the negative reviews on this hospital, I truly feel that this hospital cares very much about the well-being of their patients and clients. My puppy ingested part of a fan cord and they were happy to get him in and get him checked out! Many people complain about the wait times, but it has to be understood that there is a triage process. In a perfect world, all of the hurt animals could be seen all at once. Realistically the veterinary field is hurting for doctors and technicians. These people show up everyday and work long hours to make sure our babies are okay! No one likes to have to be apart from their pet but the staff was great with communication and was never rude when I called to check in on my boy. They also were happy to let me go home and continually called with updates! It should also be understood that they're trying to help your pet and others. They cannot be communicating with everyone at every second! They were attentive and kind. It's standard, especially in our current world times to not be allowed in with the pet. I honestly would prefer waiting in the comfort of my own vehicle, than a waiting room. We need to be kind and show appreciation for great people like this! PSA - Emergency veterinary care is going to be expensive. Have a plan in place. Again, be kind and understand they also cannot control the prices of the essential tools needed to perform the job. We brought our dog in at 10:30am with what looked like severe stomach pain. We checked in pretty quickly (15 minutes) and they took our dog right in and gave him some pain medication. We were there for there for 8.5 hours and we only got 1 update in that whole time. They only did an emergency evaluation and a short ultrasound. It seems that they didn't think his case was more urgent than other animals but it would have been nice to know that. It would have been nice to know if he was comfortable or being monitored. By the time they got around to suggesting more tests, he would have to stay overnight. About 7:30pm they said they would bring out another estimate to approve. Another hour went by...no estimate in site. We were so frustrated, we decided to take him home and wait for our vet to open. It took another hour to check him out and get some pain meds. The people in the car next to us were there about the same amount of time, their dog was vomiting and defecating blood. They didn't take the dog into the clinic for over 4 hours, maybe longer, the owners were so distraught. They were told to let the clinic know if he collapses and they will come get him. What the heck! I suspect it was a busy day with lots of emergencies, the Eugene emergency clinic was mysteriously closed this day and that probably impacted them. But there are still some serious process and communication issues that need to be addressed. read more

This is so unfortunate. Willamette Veterinary used to be so reliable, swift and caring. We have come here for 11 years and trusted your doctors and staff with our animals. Unfortunately, this is the last time we visit. It is the 2x in two months that we've waited more 6 hours and have had zero service. Then still been charged the $103 "vet" visit price. So, essentially, they're charging every person that walks in the door at least $103 and most aren't being seen. We saw this multiple times just today. The communication is less than par and the front desk support staff seem ambivalent to it. It used to be so different. They treat you like you're an inconvenience or the customer doesn't have another option so it doesn't matter how they're treated or not treated for that matter. When Dr. Lewer was present it was so different. He cared I guess money goes to everyone's head eventually. Dr. Lewer is busy building more vet hospitals in Oregon ...Im going to assume he left and his facilities have none of the same sub par service, no sense of urgency, lack of communication, charge for no service type of environments. I can't wait to establish care with them. We left with our sick pet today with no answers, short $$ and no follow. read more

We admitted a kitten here for emergency care. The mothers number was put on the call list and she was called about the animal being put down. The family didn't want that option to be used unless it was the only option, it wasn't. The call was made and unfortunately the mom didn't understand the "American speech" of "putting the cat to sleep" (English isn't her main language) no one was present to help her understand and the nurse didn't explain what that meant either. She assumed it meant to have the kitten get some rest, oxygen, then it would be better. The nurse FAILED to say exactly what it meant. It meant THE CAT WOULD BE DEAD. This place needs to stop beating around the bush and let the person know at the basic level, the cat will pass away. Because of a misunderstanding and a lack of explanation a kitten is dead and $100 was paid for something that didn't need to happen. read more

They were very kind and helpful when my kitty got into a roommate's extremely toxic flowers: lilies. I called them right away, around 7 am, and they got me in as an emergency appointment right away. My cat was cared for immediately. I couldn't see her for around 8 hours, which was hard, but the techs provided me with updates. They let me leave my car in the parking lot all day without being towed, which was also very kind of them. By some miracle, the lilies ended up being the non-toxic variety so all was well. They monitored her for the day and took some samples to make sure there was no toxin presence in the body. When my kitty finally came out, she was shockingly non-stressed for being in a vet office all day. The entire experience ended up costing ~ $200, which I believe is pretty good for emergency care. But no one can put a price on saving a family member. read more

I took my cat into this hospital for emergency care Aug 2021 because there is no other option. I will drive 2 hrs. north or south to avoid them. They are unprofessional, lack urgency, lack clear communication, lack organization, and their ER Vets do not coordinate care with each other. I had 4 different ER Vets who asked me what is happening with my cat when we did not know what was happening & is why she was in the ICU. Their errors lead to a very traumatic experience for myself and my little girl. I told them multiple times to leave my cat in privacy as she is timid avoidant. Yet every tech person told me how often they were petting my cat & giving her lots of attention. They smiled and laughed as they said this to me. I told them she only eats dry food & they told me multiple times they only offered her wet food. She was not eating. I asked why they were not giving her a nose feeding tube. They never told me why. They didn't follow my PCP vet's advice when she was admitted. They denied knowing information that is clearly found in their chart notes. Each person I talked with has lied to me about what they knew or did not know. Each vet that came into shift had their own treatment plan based on limited emerging understanding of my cat's overall sudden, complicated, & serious health issues. When I asked to remove my cat after 24 hrs., they would not let me take my cat home, I had to wait another 24 hrs. for her be released even though they said they couldn't do much for her treatment based on their limited generic knowledge of her specialty health issues. They were to do a ultrasound & monitor her condition only for transfer within 24 hours; not provide any directive of care. They are not feline cardiologists or feline kidney disease experts. I was talked over & told misinformation about her conditions. They delayed the transfer. They told me she was in intense pain & was going to die. She was in a horrible state when she was returned to me. She had razor burn, was covered in urine, dirty, hungry, & bloated from improper (too much) fluid treatment which the Dr. said was not helping her condition, but they did it anyway. We did not have information about her heart yet, so a decision to aggressively do fluids was misguided, dangerous, & was not at the advice of my PCP. She was clearly shaking & had not slept. She was overmedicated. She was forced into CHF. They denied me the ultrasound and forced me into having them give me the echo. I don't know any situation where a caring Veterinarian would stress test a cat over two days who is stable but in renal failure and insist upon giving that animal a echocardiogram. The misdiagnosis is confirmed by specialists. We received a bad, expensive echocardiogram which set forth events leading to lack of treatments that could have helped her be more comfortable for her last weeks of life. If I had listened to them - and not had the experience I have - other clients would have euthanized their cat that weekend. We did not know what was going on with her yet. 5 weeks later my cat returned to near pre-ICU health and lived many more weeks. She is confirmed to have not been in pain and did not need the heavy medications or heart medicines they prescribed. This practice does not understand feline care, as they often referred to their knowledge of a dog's condition which is not what cat families need to hear. When they told me my cat was ready to be released it took another 3 hrs. to bring her home. There was enough staff that day talking to each other & pushing retail, so I don't know why it took so long to release her. I had to refuse paying my final bill until I demanded to have the radiology, chart notes, & records sent to me, which still took two weeks to receive. Do not buy medicine from this clinic! The mark up cost is considerable. Their dosage on her medications were too high for a feline, & a patient with kidney deficiencies. When I have requested all my imaging, diagnostics, & reports, they are not organized with how they provide this information to my specialists. Every specialist I have asked for my file to be sent to, has received incomplete information. I know this because when I inquire to have my specialist send me what Willamette has sent them, the file information is not the same. I would not know about the missing information if I didn't follow up with what my specialists received. If you have insurance this will create a headache & possibly create more confusion, loss of benefits, & other issues for the claim's specialists (it has for me!). AVOID THIS PLACE. Take your feline to ANY OTHER emergency 24/7 clinic. If your beloved pet is going to die within 1 HR why bring them to clinic that can't provide the proper care anyway? Call the Mobile Vet Clinic instead. The more I share my story, the more I hear I am not alone. read more

I'm sure it is and this company has little grace or respect for the public. I hope they use our $75 to get some of that. After being transferred from another vet because they were closing, they kept our dog 5 hrs only to call and say she needed blood work. (Which was already done and sent over to them from the other vet). How could you not look at patient records before examine them and finding out what was done?! Doesn't make sense! Pretty funny that the slogan for this ER hospital is "our doors never close" when they told me this evening they were not accepting emergencies. How can you consider yourself an ER if you turn away people who desperately need help. Bad management if you ask me. read more

No payment plans are available to help your pet get well but only offer one after there is no other options and you are forced to put them down. I hope no one else finds themselves in this position. I spoke with Chloe on the phone today and she provided excellent phone etiquette and customer service. I truly appreciated her time. Im familiar with AHHA and understand what it takes to be certified. But $550-700+ to neuter a male cat is ridiculous. There are a lot of awesome aspects to this hospital, but I do feel like there are a lot of overpriced procedures/ exam fees etc. I'd really only go there if I had a really real emergency for my pet. If you are pinching pennies this is not the place for you. But if money is not a concern, then sure, the staff is great and you will likely get great service and care for your pets. read more

We aren't from this area but had to find a vet for our kitten ASAP. After calling a vet that was closer to us, they were booked and recommended this place. We drove an hour and made the appointment. They got our kitten booked in super fast. We got and exam and medicine prescribed to us. They answered so many of our questions and we very patient. I wish we could come here rather than our vet if it were closer to us. This was such a great experience. I trusted them with my kitten and would definitely recommend coming here for any veterinary needs! read more

The fantastic Doctors and staff of the Willamette Veterinary Hospital saved the life of our precious Sawyer this past Saturday when he was diagnosed with canine GDV. They immediately prepped him for a 3-hour emergency surgery and supported all of us throughout the ordeal. If it wasn't for their expertise and professionalism, we would have lost Sawyer. Kim and I were especially impressed with the compassion they showed toward Sawyer during this time. We can't thank them enough for saving Sawyer's life. My cat had an abscess and I needed her to be seen !!! I called 5 other vet offices in my area, all of them were booked out for weeks, and even knowing this was an emergency situation would not help. The last place I called recommended Willamette Veterinary, I was able to bring her in the next morning. They did give me fair warning that they had A LOT of animals to see that day and it could be awhile, which was understandable because their parking lot was packed. I was just extremely grateful they would see her so fast and she was going to get help. I have read the other reviews/complaints, and I had a great experience. I will say that due to covid, having to do the curb side animal drop off/ pick up isn't ideal but they are doing the best they can !!!!! I dropped her off to be examined, I was called after a couple hours by the Dr who told me what needed to happen. I went back, they gave me a printed out estimate, it showed the low end of what you could be paying, and a high end. I also did have to put a deposit down but agree with this, I'm sure they have gotten burned before in the past. It was super intimidating to see a high price BUT I ended up paying much less than the low end estimate !!! Almost $200 less than the lowest price they quoted me, I was so relieved !!! I thought it was a very fair decent price, especially on such short notice. We picked her up the next morning and we would take our cat there again. One really cool thing that happened, I called that night to check on her. Devin answered their phone she was so NICE, she told me she would go and give the cat a pat for me. She also emailed me pics of my cat, which I thought was above and beyond. read more

I took my 10 month old cat there last night. The staff were absolutely wonderful. I was lucky enough to have my emergency at a slow time. The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful and sympathetic to my situation. My cat was (still is) in a terrifyingly critical state, with a red blood cell count of 8%. (Blood transfusion is recommended at 12%.) I can not afford the transfusion and that is just a heartbreaking reality of being of being a pet owner. They were very understanding and took the time to really listen and try to help me understand the situation and the realities that could be in the near future. I love them. 5 stars. I will be back. (The photo is of my cat, who is literally afraid of a fly, trying to act tough. But he did everything he was supposed to do. He only acts mean at the vet. I had to get a picture cause I think his nose all scrunched up like that is adorable.) read more

I took my beloved dog in on a Sunday for an emergent issue. The staff was so find and caring right from the start. Dr. Couser spent time with me making sure that I understood not only the illness but also the prognosis. She was patient and soft spoken at a time that I needed it most. We made the difficult decision to euthanize my pet, and Dr Couser allowed me to be present and hold his paw while she spoke softly and gently and administered the medication. I hope that you don't have to visit the ER vet, but if you do this one is the best around!! read more

Oh man. I understand there are new pandemic rules but their communication and staffing are not worth the prices. I made an appt several weeks in advance and then waited 4 hours for my dog to be seen and taken care of. Anytime I called to check on the status, I was put on hold for more than 15-20 mins. Just to drop off and pick up, I had to wait 30 mins each. I don't understand the point in scheduling an appt if this is the way my time is valued. I even asked ahead of time if I should leave him here all day and was told "No, this is just a one hour appt." Communication to worried pet owners and honoring their time is really needed. read more

Overall good experience. Vet was efficient and professional, though her "bed side" manner was rather frosty abrupt and "get 'em in and out." The assistants (not certain of all of their proper job titles) were in every case compassionate, kind, and professional. I'm so grateful that the place was open, as no other vet within an hour of me would take our dying cat in for treatment, even other 24 hour vets turned us away because of being "at capacity." They kept costs minimal, even gave our cat a free ultra sound, and were straight forward about our cat's condition even though we weren't concerned with cost. Wish the vet would have been more patient/compassionate, but for the kind of emergency care we experienced, I fully recommend. read more

I brought a stray dog in, they took him and called me 5 minutes later saying it would cost $2600 to save his life and they asked if I wanted to proceed. Having a heart I said absolutely. They then told me they wouldn't even attempt to save the poor fellas life unless I gave them $900 on the spot. This dog, was dying. And their priority was money. Anyways, I didn't have the money so the killed the dog. I didn't even get to say goodbye or get his collar...nothing. If you LOVE your animal, if you care about your animal...take them anywhere it here. The only thing anyone in that building cares about is money. They let a good dog die, they let my best friend die...over $900. Something to keep in mind next time you go to the vet. read more

Ridiculously extensive waiting times of up to 6-8 hours to be seen by a Dr. Staff has poor communication skills when interacting with families who are seeking assistance with their loved ones/pets often leaving families wondering what's actually going on with their pets care. Front desk staff seems quite indifferent to the needs of families who are tending to one pet's health care while being unable to go home and tend to other pets and livestock often causing hardships to families and disrupting the medication and feeding schedule of their other animals. The "policy" of keeping the pets and owners ON SITE for hours seems a bit controlling. More than one family expressed a concern about this very policy during my 6 hour ordeal there. Even during a simple exam, lab draw or xray, pets are separated from their owners for extensive periods of time causing anxiety and grief to both pets and owners. As for the actual care provided to pets, it seems like the Dr. is a bit overwhelmed by the mass of patients who seek care/treatment but they are thorough, polite, and appear fully capable of addressing anything that is brought to them. This organization could benefit from an entry level customer service orientation to better address the needs of their customers. Maybe employing a patient liaison that can help ease the lack of information that appears quite common in this office. There is certainly room for improvement but overall, the service provided was adequate, even if it did take the better part of a day to get an answer out of anyone. read more

Absolutely not!!!!! We brought our cat here because she swallowed a small aluminum ball (a toy she plays with), which we found super scary. While my boyfriend was filling out the paperwork they took Sadie (our kitty) in the back to examine her, we noticed on the paperwork we are automatically being charged $100.00 for them to look at her without even addressing the issue. We immediately said no we are not sighing this and we would like Sadie back, the nurse then replied insinuating that we are bad pet owners and that it could be very serious. She said that they would probably have to flush Sadie's system out to get the ball OR the ball very well could pass through her system on its own. The ball passed through her system without any help from the Clinic and we didn't pay the ridiculous $100 fee. read more
