my cat, eager to have his bandage removed.
    Christy L.

i had to take my cat here on 11pm on a saturday night. i've had emergencies with my cats in the past and they had been too busy to see me. but this time, they were able to accept me and my cat. i'm beyond thankful we have a 24/7 vet in corvallis. during the time i was waiting, the staff were kind and patient. the waiting area had instrumental music playing and fish in an aquarium and a variety of hot drinks for free. when it's late, and you're worried for your pet, it's the little things that make or break the experience. i had to leave my cat there for about 3 days. they kept in regular contact with me, leaving me detailed VMs if they missed me, and answering all my questions if i caught the call. and being extra courteous if the call was at 2am. this is the first time i've had to deal with a situation like this so i don't know the context of the pricing, but i assume a 24/7 vet would be more expensive than normal and im ok with that. my cat came home happy and back to normal. im very thankful for the many people who helped me and my cat. and i will probably start scheduling my regular vet appointments with them.

Got here at 12:00 am didn't leave till 4:33 my dog was sick and throwing up like she was dying and they take so long to tell us what's going on they over charge on tests I would not recommend going here I probably won't ever again.

My 12 yr old dog was having a rough day & I was too. I called WVH & was able to get a same day appointment. All of the staff was great & Dr Nelson was exceptional. He made my dog & I feel better. I left reassured that together we are doing everything necessary to keep my old dog comfortable & happy. After my appointment I received two calls, checking in to make sure Fisher was tolerating his new medication well & doing ok overall. Great overall experience!!

    Waiting. Waiting, waiting some more.

Upon walking in, she was triaged immediately, with no wait, and I could tell that the staff truly loved what they do, and showed so much compassion and respect towards myself and my pet. They ran blood and urine test, and received results within minutes, to assess her medical needs and made educated diagnosis in record time. Dr. Sean Cummings, went over the results with me in such a thorough manner and could clearly see which aspects of the report findings were causing her health problems. He had such a patient demeanor with my cat as well as other pets he was treating and his knowledge of pet health was very impressive. Erin was the Nurse caring for her, and stayed by her side handling everything from administering medications to cleaning up potty accidents, and made sure I was able to hold her on my lap between treatments, even though she had an IV. She was admitted overnight so they could monitor her, and I was welcome to stay with her as long as I wanted. Right before I left, Erin brought her an IPad so she could watch fishie videos in her kennel, which I thought was the sweetest thing! The open stations made it so nice to keep up on her status, and she was never taken out of my sight during her care. I was also able to call to check on her anytime to get updates. The next day, Dr. Krista Valentine assisted her, and checked in with me until I was able to return. They sent me her treatment estimate so I could review, and if there was anything I had questions on, they were thorough to explain. Milla was the Nurse who called me when her condition improved and I received immediate reports on her status, and she even gave her a bath when needed. While I was on my way to visit her, as she was expecting to need to stay another night, I got the best news, that she was ready to be picked up to bring home, which was such a blessing. Erin let me hold her while she got her medication ready. I could see a huge improvement in her, and she was so much happier and much closer to normal, compared to 24 hours earlier. It truly was a miracle how they were able to treat her health issues so quickly. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis, kidney disease and a urinary tract infection, and was severely dehydrated. Thank you to all the great staff for taking such great care of my fur baby, especially to Dr. Cummings, Erin, as well as Dr. Valentine and Milla. I want to give extra recognition to Erin, who was so exceptional, knowledgeable and thorough in caring for my Kitty, you set the bar high, and should be held as an example to other pet caregivers! I will bring her back for any urgent medical needs and will recommend your clinic to anyone who needs a pet hospital.

My cat was diagnosed with a urinary tract disease, and they took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. They truly cared not only about my cat's health but also about making sure I felt informed and comforted throughout the entire experience. It's clear that everyone there has a true passion for helping animals and the people who love them. I'm so grateful for the exceptional care they provided and would highly recommend Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency to anyone in need of emergency veterinary care. I overall had a wonderful experience and will choose them again in the future for our pet emergencies.

I've also carefully considered the arguments made to defend their practice by Dr. Warren who stated that pancreatitis is difficult to treat and often is recurring. I'm not buying what she's selling. They knew Mimosa's history of not eating, being difficult to get medication into from day one. They should have recommended hospitalization from day one. She was eating, drinking and going to the bathroom for them so they sent her home all drugged up. At home she wouldn't eat so I had to arrange a ride and drag poor Mimosa all the way out there again and instead of keeping her, they released her again. The third time it was too late. They fucked around with her delicate condition for too long and there was no bringing her back even after two days of hospitalization. She died in my arms on August 25, 2026. He was in so much pain that my boyfriend had to carry him to the car. When we got there, the exam basically consisted of having him walk around the office and moving his leg back and forth a few times. My dog was clearly stressed and uncomfortable. He eventually hid behind a chair and even peed. I was told they heard some clicking in his leg, but that it was probably nothing serious. They sent us home with ibuprofen and charged about $170 for the visit and medication. I barely could sleep that night due to feeling so unsure about the diagnosis. The next morning, my dog was still limping and obviously in pain, so I called his regular vet for a second opinion. They got him in right away. The FIRST thing my vet asked was why my dog had been prescribed medication dosed for a Chihuahua. He told me the ibuprofen likely wasn't even touching my poor baby's pain. :( Unlike Rivers Edge, my regular vet was immediately concerned about the severity of the lameness and recommended X-rays. Turns out my dog had a severely torn ligament, arthritis in the affected knee, and an early tear starting in the other knee as well. I'm honestly disappointed that such a serious injury was dismissed as "probably nothing serious." If I had just trusted that assessment, my dog would have continued suffering without proper treatment. Based on my experience, I will not be returning to Rivers Edge.
