They are ALWAYS out of multiple items, the place was a mess both in the dining room and behind the counter, and no one seems to care. Tonight the line was 10+ people deep and only one person seemed to work at a normal human pace. One guy was stone out of his mind, moving super slow motion, and put probably 2 cups of sour cream on the burrito bowl of the guy in front of me. And was just today. Same type of experience almost every time I've been there. I've learned my lesson... I will drive to Watsonville or downtown Santa Cruz if I have a chipotle craving. Those stores are great. Regretfully, I walked inside, and I was not surprised by the fact that I was right. There was food and trash all over the empty tables and floors. I'm leaving this for my experience today and today only. In general I'd say two and a half stars is about right. They always seem to be out of everything, and struggle to get things done. Today though; the nice lady with the glasses and long brown braid made the best chipotle salad I've ever had. Dirtiest and worst run Chipotle I have ever been in. And trust me, I've been in a bunch of Chipotle restaurants. Empty restaurant (3pm on July 1st 2022-just in case a corporate person wants to see the stores cameras). All tables dirty. Floor was disgusting . I will spare the readers the visual descriptions. This chipotle is usually the better of the two bad ones that we have here, but these past 4 months this one has been terrible. I consistently get disappointed when I come here, yet my feigning self keeps coming back, it's like being in an abusive one sided relationship where you love someone but it doesn't love you back. Anyways, I came today and once again they didn't have chips, lettuce, or corn. It was 2 hours before closing and they already had the chairs up, it was dirty and there was a mess of food and ambiguous liquids all over the food line. There was only one guy serving food in the middle of a dinner rush, and the guy was stoned out of his mind. I don't care if you smoke at work, I did too when I worked in food service, but don't smoke so much it hinders your performance. I get my food and there's no ice or aguas frescas, the forks are all up ended so everyone's fingers would touch the part of fork that goes in your mouth which is nasty. Once I get home, surprise, surprise, due to the ingredient mixing they had because of their mess on the food line, there were pieces of chicken and onions that wondered into my steak bowl that was supposed to have no onions. Average fast food style Mexican food. Definitely don't come here if you want authentic Mexican food, but it's good in a pinch. The only reason I am giving a good review is because of the EXCEPTIONAL service I received at this location. The girl working (I think her name was Pearl?) was super friendly, kind and helpful. This is the Franchise located right across from the shopping mall in CAPITOLA, I don't usually Grab lunch before noon, however this was my most recent exception. Both Andrew & Grace were honestly the kindest servers I've seen in the area. Hopefully now that the world is in a better place post pandemic, we can value and and appreciate one another's happy smiling faces, here and around Santa Cruz. Flat top was extremely dirty . Almost every chipotle I have been to in the Bay Area , they all lack , line of sight in cleanliness . The pots on the hot line looked gritty and seemed as if they had not changed utensils since they opened . The team lacked communication and hospitality. Maybe will never be returning to this location. Dining room, garbage cans and hydration station lacked attention . Their cooler was also empty . No drinks in sight . Ordered a barbacoa bowl, was given beans and rice only. Ordered through the mobile app - chipotle has been slipping in the short time it's been in Watsonville. In-store manager offered nearly zero help, was told I could told to drive 20 minutes one way back to the store, or "deal with it". Asked if delivery was an option because it is when you order through the app, was told they will not deliver on an order they screwed up on. For being as SLOW as they are, there is really no excuse for messing up this bad. They leave things off. They seem to have an aversion to fajita vegies since they are 99% of the time missing from orders. They don't seal bags even though other locations do. I can't believe a meal for $30 is so ridiculous. Burrito is kid sized and tried the quesadilla which has zero flavor and is rubbery. I think they are doing something to the tortillas to make them like rubber. Over cooking? Idk. If you have a choice don't go to this location. read more

My girlfriend and I get Chipolte a few times a month, usually take out. And usually it's decent enough to go back. But, the last time, when I got the chicken burrito bowl, the rice was hard, like little rocks. But I just figured it was a bad batch and I got unlucky and didn't say anything. Last night, my girlfriend went in and ordered for us what we usually get, this time to go. When she got home she mentioned to me that she had to ask the employee multiple times for more beans, rice, etc, because the employee wasn't making it like it's been made every other previous time. When I opened mine and she opened hers, it was obvious the portion size was incorrect. It literally looked like 1/3 of it was missing- refer to the photos. We were both disappointed as that was our dinner and we were looking forward to it. To top it off, I only live 5 min from Chipolte and we opened it out right away- and well, it was cold. Not a bit of warmth to it at all. I did call and speak to a manager and she was less than sympathetic, it's like I was bothering her. New employees trained poorly? Bad management? DO NOT EAT AT THIS LOCATION I tried to be civil about this issue and I attempted to do this without disrupting business at this location. The lack of respect and response to the issue has left me no choice. My wife come to this location at least 4 times a week. It seems like a lot but we kinda stick to what we know and it's just simple for us. We get the same thing every time (bowl w/ white rice, pinto beans and chicken a side of queso and two bags of chips that's it) Yesterday night we decided to come grab some food went home and started eating. I had to take care of some things so my wife ate first she called me over some what frantic to ask what something was that just came out of her mouth And it was a *SLUG* my wife completely disgusted went to throw up. I didn't even get to touch my bowl and for good reason was not going to eat it. We came in at 9:40pm and got home around 10pm I called the store at 10:21pm and was able to speak with the manager. I explained the situation and just expressed that my wife and I were pretty discussed because we come her pretty often. I asked him what can we do about getting a refund and I was told that will comp one of the bowls. I did tell him that I would bring both of the bowls back along with the bug to prove we didn't eat it. I told him he should throw out everything that was in our bowls that was in the line and his response was "ahhh well i don't know maybe" His final response was to talk with a day time manager to see what they could do. So I called the store and spoke with another manager and explained everything above he tried several times to sell me on the idea of just coming in to get a meal comp but I expressed we are pretty grossed out and won't be eating there anymore and wanted a refund he finally agreed and said " I will be in until 5pm feel free to come in to get a refund, if you can't be in by 5 I will post it on our manager board for the other managers will know the situation and get your refund" my response was "awesome thank you, I understand that this probably wouldn't happen again and that I wasn't upset we are just grossed us out". I came in at 7:15 to get my refund I stood at the pick up counter and explained to the manager everything above as discretely as I could because other customers were ordering food He tried to only let me get a new order and again explained that I am not eating there food anymore. He said he needed to call his manager and walked away. After about 5 minutes he came up to me and said the manager told you to come him by 5pm to Get your refund then gave me a sticky note telling me to call corporate and he won't be giving me a refund because it will make is drawer short for the night (which I have on recording). He said if I want a refund I will have to try and come in when the other manger is here. Again I stayed respectful and just said ok as I didn't want to make a scene for the other customers eating at the restaurant. As a business owner it doesn't matter what time a customer needs to come in all mangers on staff are able to issue a refund I'm shocked at the responses of all three managers I could have gone about this situation completely differently and chose to be respectful. There exuse was that it maybe came from The lettuce which is pretty much the last thing in the line And I didn't get lettuce in my bowl. So either way it proves that there is Major cross contamination issues let alone poor food preparation going on at this store location. If I have to wait for a $30 refund because it will make there drawer short they will have to wait for my respect now... it's just a joke at this point. And they didn't throw away any of that food so think about that before coming here to eat. read more

I keep trying to give it the benefit of the doubt. But it's been a continuous thing every visit. The trash is always overflowing, the prep counter is always disgusting with food everywhere on it, the concession station is always a mess with trash and sticky residue all over the counter. I have been coming to chipotle 41st for a while now. It is a good option for me because they are open late & not too far of a drive. Some of these reviews are just rude. I have always had a decent experience, the team members are nice & patient. People are very rude these days and these people do not deserve that. Just be nice & they will be nice back. Some of the team members even know my order my heart. It's important to spread kindness. I would never however personally eat there. I would rate the restaurant on its cleanliness 2/5. Lady took my order just fine, but the chicken was absolutely burnt looking and ended up being pretty much inedible so so was the rice, absolutely crunchy and undercooked. With Keto you're already going without rice or beans.. subtract fajita veggies and you aren't left with much of a bowl..
