We placed a nearly $300 catering order with 24 hours advance notice which was processed as a partial to go order for 20 as their system screwed up the order, we only received a fraction of the order so we went into the store with our receipt which clearly showed what was on our catering order. The manager refused to honor what we bought, in fact he was rude and pretty aggressive. The other difficulty is it impossible to get a hold of anyone in chipotle to escalate. I've been coming to chipotle for 10+ years in the bay area, moved to capitola a year back. Huge chipotle fan, but this location is hands down the worst run location I've been to. It smells like management issues. I come probably 3-4 times a week but today was the last straw for me I will not be coming back. Issues: Always out of ingredients. I just went to the Chipotle by the Capitola Mall. I ordered a salad. And for the second time within the last 2 weeks they didn't have any dressing. Again! It's pretty basic that salads come with dressing. I then heard the customer in front of me ask for the fajita veggies in his tacos. They told him they were out of those. So no use in me asking for some on my salad. The final straw for me was when standing right in front of a huge sign advertising the new pollo asado, i asked for some and was told they were out. 2.5 stars. I'm mixed on this location. The one in Santa Cruz is run better and the food is fresher. Especially the chips. The chips at the Capitola location are almost always stale and way over salted. And the lines are horrible. The staff is very, very, very slow and if there are 10 people in line, you will have a minimum wait of 20 minutes before getting to the counter. However there are not many healthy food options near Capitola mall. If you get the bowl instead of the burrito, it will save you a lot of calories. Not sure what's happening to this store. It's my only source of fast food, has been so great when I don't feel like cooking. But it has become inconsistent, often cancelling orders due to be being out of major ingredients,... before 7pm even. I get it delivered and on more than one occasion I've had to spend 30-40 minutes on the phone cancelling the order myself because I ordered through the Chipotle website (I don't have the Door Dash app) This needs to be fixed. We arrived and it took about five minutes (despite the presence of a handful of employees and no one in line in front of us) for someone to "help" us. They were out of cheese, out of chips, and their fryer was indefinitely broken. They put a TON of hot salsa on my bowl without me asking for hot salsa (which I didn't discover until I got home) ... it was too spicy to eat. This time, worker skipped the produce and salsa section, rushed all our orders (family of 4) and a second worker came to take the next customer's order and the two workers talked over each other processing two separate orders. Good for fast food. Great spot for a quick bite. They have lots of options for simple food that feels good to eat. They make it right in front of you and you can make special requests to your specific wants. The service is really friendly. There is a parking lot out front for easy parking. They do have an mobile order system you can order ahead of time. They have outdoor and indoor seating. There are lots of hot sauces you can bring to your table and have both fountain drinks and some drinks in the fridge that are alternatives to soda. If you need to eat fast food it feels a little more fresh than other options. read more
