I love Chipotle. I love that this place allows me to calculate my macros w/o much stress. I can choose to be healthy and vegan or if I really wanted to or I can be a little on the naughty side and order a burrito bowl. I can easily down 2 chicken burritos in 1 sitting. There was a time where I would do that every time I go to Chipotle but that young Tram has died a long time ago. Now I am older, my metabolism has stopped, and I simply don't like the feeling of being too full now. I have changed quite a bit. Not authentic Mexican but they never advertised that they are. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a restaurant, particularly the manager named Zachary. We placed a nearly $300 catering order with 24 hours advance notice which was processed as a partial to go order for 20 as their system screwed up the order, we only received a fraction of the order so we went into the store with our receipt which clearly showed what was on our catering order. The manager refused to honor what we bought, in fact he was rude and pretty aggressive. The other difficulty is it impossible to get a hold of anyone in chipotle to escalate. The only thing consistent about this location is they are always out of key things. Last night it was chicken. Who runs out of chicken at 6:30PM, dinner time! They had no salad dressing which for me really makes their salad. This happens way too often. A month back, my daughter picked up an online order and discovered the items were literally one half their regular size. A week later she went to the River St location and brought back items that were sized as expected. The 41st location is consistently bad at not having ingredients and food quality. We have seen this for the last 2 years so this is not a random one bad day. We visit other togo food places and most give us the same experience and food everytime. I know restaurants are all not the same but how can this location consistently not make sure the food availability is the same? But the thing that really set me over was the way the employees treated my daughter last night. They were rude, intimidating, abrupt and made her feel uncomfortable. She had a lot of items and were customized. (That seems to be Chipotle's thing right?!?!?) But last night the employees made her feel like she had to apologize for giving her order. They looked at her pissed off and did not show any customer service or welcome look. She was there to buy their food! So while we do love Chipotle's food, we are not in love with the 41st location. Came here for dinner a couple days ago.. to go! I ordered the burrito bowl: carne asada with everything in it and with mild salsa... because I seriously can't handle anything spicy. I also ask for 2 tortillas on the side so I can build my own little mini tacos with it. For $6.50 this is such a great deal. you can split it with 2 people and still be super full! It smells like management issues. I come probably 3-4 times a week but today was the last straw for me I will not be coming back. Issues: Always out of ingredients. The past 10 times I've visited they have been out of steak. They are usually out of other things like guac, corn etc. Soda machine is almost always broken either no ice or no soda at all Chips are usually not available Half the staff is surprisingly rude Place is dirty and not kept, most days the chairs don't get put down off the tables so people can sit down until around 1130-12 so I pull my own chair down to sit Almost consistently out of lemonades Today specifically they were out of steak, corn, veggies, ice, tobasco wasn't sitting out neither were the forks, napkins and the chairs were still up so I couldn't sit down. Management I highly recommend you take action I've been to other Chipotle's in the area that are fine, this one specifically is awful. I just went to the Chipotle by the Capitola Mall. I ordered a salad. And for the second time within the last 2 weeks they didn't have any dressing. Again! It's pretty basic that salads come with dressing. I then heard the customer in front of me ask for the fajita veggies in his tacos. They told him they were out of those. So no use in me asking for some on my salad. The final straw for me was when standing right in front of a huge sign advertising the new pollo asado, i asked for some and was told they were out. 2.5 stars. I'm mixed on this location. The one in Santa Cruz is run better and the food is fresher. Especially the chips. The chips at the Capitola location are almost always stale and way over salted. And the lines are horrible. The staff is very, very, very slow and if there are 10 people in line, you will have a minimum wait of 20 minutes before getting to the counter. However there are not many healthy food options near Capitola mall. If you get the bowl instead of the burrito, it will save you a lot of calories. Not sure what's happening to this store. It's my only source of fast food, has been so great when I don't feel like cooking. But it has become inconsistent, often cancelling orders due to be being out of major ingredients,... before 7pm even. I get it delivered and on more than one occasion I've had to spend 30-40 minutes on the phone cancelling the order myself because I ordered through the Chipotle website (I don't have the Door Dash app) This needs to be fixed. This chipotle should be closed down. The store was dirty (like really dirty). That should've been a sign for us to do an about-face and leave (unfortunately we didn't). We arrived and it took about five minutes (despite the presence of a handful of employees and no one in line in front of us) for someone to "help" us. They were out of cheese, out of chips, and their fryer was indefinitely broken. They put a TON of hot salsa on my bowl without me asking for hot salsa (which I didn't discover until I got home) ... it was too spicy to eat.
