I love their mashed potatoes and gravy that's a must coleslaw. You could tell us from sitting around in liquid since probably in the a.m. not good biscuits are always good. Keep up the good work. My husband and I were sick this year and where normally we are full on with family and prep we found ourselves alone and neither of us feeling up to the tasks of anything resembling a Thanksgiving meal. First time at this location was yesterday. I tried the double cheese burger, 12 piece nuggets, and new spicy cheese curds. Love the spicy cheese curds hands down! Food was fresh and hot. Cheese burger was meh. The nuggets were just okay, very crispy though. I couldn't get the cheese curds off my mind so I came back today. I got those, once again perfect! I got the chicken tenders this time, immaculate! However, the Cashier that I had both days, she was clearly not happy to be there. She mentioned to just about every customer that her dad died recently, while I gave her my sympathy, it was incredibly uncomfortable when she dropped it another two times in the one conversation. She comes off incredibly passive aggressive. Today she had mentioned twice she didn't want to be there and wanted to go home. I get it, but, it's pretty gloomy. You can hear here raising her voice to the kitchen staff, mostly just complaining. Next time I think I'll skip staff interaction entirely. read more

I was there getting my food when "Driven C." Was there. The manager did the right thing. "Driven C." Showed up in his pickup truck ala Trump stickers and refused to wear his mask. He said that he was special and excluded and did not have to wear one. He put us all at risk when people are dying. The manager did not engage him and went outside to verify that such an exemption exists. The man then went outside, with no provocation from the manager who was on the phone and started calling him a scumbag and every name in the book. To his credit, the manager kept his cool and continued his phone call and didn't say one word to the man. He did take a picture of his license plate, which I asked about after, and apparently he was on the phone with Capitola PD and they wanted the man's information. This man is the worst and could have gotten all of us sick, and then blames it on the manager who should get an award for how he handled it! "Driven C." Should look in the mirror to see the person who he was calling all of those names. This guy was the worst and I felt sorry for the entire crew, but they were very professional. read more

I had in my wallet (I had noticed just the $20 In my wallet a few times, I had looked because sheltering in place I rarely spend cash) to pay for my dads chicken wing dinner, and the older woman who's worked here 30 years gave me back $4. And I said I needed the other $10. She asked the girl in the back to double check the register, and she came back also saying I gave them a $10. I highly recommend using a credit card, exact cash, or taking a selfie with your cash and server (especially the older one who says she's a "Christian" who's never made a mistake. Decided this time for the first time I'm backing the charge from my credit card... Anytime I don't unpack and check my order before I leave it's always wrong. If they don't care enough to complete my order but charge me for it, they don't get paid plain and simple. Never going back, tired of the incompetence and rudeness. It's just been too many times at this point. The phone is always off the hook. If this place is always this careless about the order, I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes. Ewwwww... All things considered though, surprisingly covid restrictions made this one a little nicer. They also have hired people who seem friendlier and more normal so that's a plus. KFC in general has decent food, but this review is mostly because I'm always so impressed with the service at this particular location. Sure, it's fast food and they have no drive-thru window, but every single time I've gone to this particular location, my order is ready to go within maybe a minute or two of ordering it. Sure, it means the food is probably already cooked and ready to go, but being able to go on a short lunch break, or with my cranky toddler, and being able to get in and out in a matter of minutes is a phenomenon in these parts!
