I've been to a good 20 chipotles, easily the worse one. Empty at 7pm.. i ask to use the rest room before i place my order bc it was a long drive from NY. She points to the restroom then says the code is on the receipt. I'm like i realy have to go and I'm really going to order. NOPE. I had to order both my burritos squishing my legs together bc i had to go so bad. Ya should be ASHAMED that people can't use the restroom before they order like ya pressed for money. What can I say about Chipotle.... I love alll of them. I've never had a bad experience with the food. Never had a ridiculously bad experience with the lines (because there's ALWAYS a line). I'm loving that this one is a stone's throw from my job. I ordered the steak salad with brown rice and black beans and fajita veggies. My usual. This is the first time that I got bigger piece of steak than the usual diminutive 1/4" cube of cow. Part of me is happy to see these new spots open in Newark while the rest is conflicted about the effects of gentrification on long time residents. But that's another issue. This chipotle was pretty busy when I got there on a Monday around 7 pm. There were some issues compared to the many other Chipotle locations I've been to. Overcooked/dry brown rice, overseasoned chicken, odd ratio of ingredients in my burrito bowl. Definitely a good option for dinner as most places nearby (aside from Dinosaur BBQ and some others) close early. I'm sure they'll work out the issues as they are open longer. I did like the design of the interior which was different from any other Chipotle I've been to. I imagine they get packed at lunch so maybe avoid those hours. You can usually find parking around here as long as there isn't a Devils game (you may have to look a little if you aren't lucky). read more

I have been to countless Chipotles and this is probably the worst one. First off, the portions here are a joke. I'm used to my burrito bowls being piled high with all the goodies. NOT at Newark. Its like they are trying to scrape together every last bit of food so that it'd last longer. Why you so stingy? Also, I went in one time and they had run out of guac... CHIPOTLE WITH NO GUACAMOLE?! How is that even possible? I have never walked out of Chipotle without an order of guac :( I will, however, note that the workers are friendly and very quick. For the most part this place is empty except unless there is something happening at Prudential. I can see why people steer clear. Working downtown it was nice to see Chipotle was soon to be a lunch option. Unfortunately most of the time I've come to buy my lunch when they scoop my chicken onto my bowl the chicken on the spoon doesn't make its way onto my bowl. So they are not only serving me "4 oz" they are serving me even less. I wish they would serve the appropriate portions. read more

This chipotle is always busy at lunch time! Right on a busy street of Newark, by the Prudential Center and Penn Station. I've ordered online for pick up. First time the machines were acting up so they made my order upon arrival. Second time it was ready but it wasn't an even amount of fillings for the burrito and bowl. read more

I'm very confused on why the recent reviews here are relatively low. Ive been to this Chipotle many of times and everytime I go the service is pleasant, they bang out even the longest lines, it's always super clean and the dine in area is spacious. The only complaint that I do have is they aren't necessary generous when it comes to portioning out the meat (I think it's a company policy thing). To prevent any tension I just ask for extra meat (which is an extra $2.15), but it's worth it. read more

Typical Chipotle besides the fact that every time I choose to eat at the restaurant a person come in soliciting. Plus, multiple times one of the staffers has got into in argument with a solicitor, homeless person, etc. I definitely think this location would benefit from having a security guard at the door or something. read more

To me it's Chipotle if your ever been to one this one is no different and I myself love it. I always get double steak bowl and it's consistent with every other Chipotle I've been too. The young staff may be inexperienced but they do their best and aren't rude. Everytime I have a taste for Chipotle which is at least once a week it's comforting to know I have one in walking distance that I can rely on. read more

The young gentleman had no problem just letting me stand there and wait, while he continued preparing an order which was faxed in. Great location for events at the Prudential Center. Very convenient for a quick meal and pretty cheap. The staff is very efficient and fast. There isn't a ton of seating, so it can get crowded before big events. The door also creates a draft in the winter, so sit further in. read more

Place is really good. A lot of fresh vegetarian choices if you swing that way. I don't but there is plenty to satiate my carnivorous cravings as well. My kids love the quesadillas and my wife always gets the salad with beef. I usually get a bowl with rice, beans and chicken. The burritos are monstrous, I'm not a little dude by any stretch of the imagination and I can barely finish them! Been going to Chipotle for years. For the past year, everyone I go to, the food has become awful. For one, they always have a bunch of teens working who are clearly more focused on chatting than the food they're serving. They often don't hear me because they're distracted, as a result they'll put too much or the wrong thing on my order. Two, the food itself doesn't taste as fresh. Can't go wrong with Chipotle!! There aren't many Qdobas in this area of NJ so if I'm not in the Short Hills area, Chipotle is a good alternative. This is a fairly new Chipotle and today was my first time going. I went around 12:15pm and surprisingly, for its prime location next to the Prudential Center, the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation and corporate buildings on Mulberry Street, I couldn't believe that it wasn't crowded. Maybe I'm comparing apples (Chipotle-downtown Newark) to bananas (Chipotle-34th and 8th). Nonetheless, I went up to the front, was greeted by great associates who welcomed me and asked me what I wanted on my salad bowl. The ingredients were fresh, well presented and the area was nice and clean. I will definitely frequent this spot but not so much....these $9 lunches add up! read more

Even though the place was new the service was genuinely kind and great. Quality of food was the same as most of all the Chipotles I have been to so far in the metro NJ area. The only downside is finding parking that will be cheaper than your meal. We lucked up with a street parking spot (on the weekend) but when you're on foot, you don't have to worry! I avoid this place when there is an event at Prudential Center; I don't understand why people are surprised when the service is poor during the time of an event! When she put it in the foil, my burrito was falling apart and most of the ingredients were still on the counter. I am very disappointed and upset I just spent my hard earned money on such garbage.
