Let me start by saying this review is not indicative of the food at Chipotle. I have been to many and have never had a problem until I came to this one. The employee I dealt with was so rude I thought she was joking. I was picking up a very big order for my work place and first she dismissed me by saying she didn't have anything with my workplace on it. I gave her a name and she said she didn't have any one with that name, but then another employee said it was there. I asked her if I could pull my car around to the front and she just shrugged her shoulder and didn't say anything. I then asked if someone could help me put my order in the car and she said I could come pick it up in the store. Meanwhile there were a lot of people working there who were just standing around. Luckily another customer was nice enough to at least hold the door open for me. So for customer service, I would give this employee a minus 10 although no other employee there did anything to help. terrible. just tried to order in person and was sent away and told I HAD to order on their app or website. told them I didn't understand why they couldn't just take my order in person. wouldnt give me a reason just sent me away basically.so I sat down, annoyed, and I put my order in on my phone. when I tried to submit my order on their website it wouldn't accept my pickup time until 25 minutes later. I'm a huge fan of other Chipotle locations, but won't be coming back to this one. On my first visit my friend and I ordered salads, and only after we had already paid for it did they inform us that they were out of forks, so we'd have to eat our salad with spoons. We decided to give it another try, and this time they were out of sour cream. Both times they had the attitude that we were crazy for being slightly annoyed they were out of something and were not apologetic at all. read more

Wow, what a dump this place is. Holding up to sanitation standards is always a challenge in crunchy massachusetts but these guys took the wrong turn. Staff is a mixed bag, thy seem to have a new crew in there, maybe the dregs left after Five Guys and B Good came through on their hiring spree for a quarter more. Seriously, place was nasty mid day on a Sunday, food and trash all over the floor, tables and chairs dirty. Things were not disorganized, they just looked unappetizing. They messed up our order and when i went for a refund on stuff they never served me, the cashier argued cluelessly. I'm going with a 3-star for this Chipotle location, although most other locations I've been to have been more-or-less the same. My favorite burritos have always been Anna's Tacqueria, to give you an idea of my taste. A close second was always El Pelon. Despite what other reviews have said, Anna's is NOT 10 minutes from this Chipotle. A simple Google Map search will show you that in more detail. That is the reason I go to this Chipotle so much - because I live 1 mile away. Chipotle in general is very bland flavor-wise compared to local Mexican take-out. The barbacoa is the most flavorful meat option, but it messes with my stomach every time. The steak is what I usually go with, but its rubbery and cut into tiny cubes so it looks like dog food (it's not comparable to the chunks of tender steak that Anna's gives you). The carnitas (pork) and chicken are flavorless. The lines at this location are absurd, but it's because the other options on Needham Street are Papa Ginos, Five Guys, and McDonalds. At least with Chipotle, it doesn't feel like you're cheating that much. I think the staff at this location is fine - I've never had a problem. The negative reviews are unfair. The reason the lines get so long is because everyone in line is usually ordering for their entire family. On top of that, people order quesadillas which take additional time and hold up the line even more. The staff works hard to keep the line moving, but don't expect to get into a "so how was your day" conversation with them. I will say that I've tried to use online ordering a couple times to avoid the line, and it ended up disastrous. They didn't make my order until I arrived, which meant they had to stop waiting on the people waiting in line, which almost cost me my life from the death stares I was getting. They could learn a thing or two from Five Guys, who have online ordering down to a science. The rest of the improvements need to be done at the corporate level. Instead of focusing on using organic non-GMO ingredients, they should focus on taste and customer experience. Unfortunately for me, I do get a burrito craving at least once a week, and Chipotle hits the spot and is down the street. read more

Employees lie about not having any chips. Mind you, I came to order at primetime hours for dinner time at 6:45pm. I said that's unacceptable, and you close at 10pm. The line was short when I went, I'm talking 6 people in front of me short. which somehow equated to a little less than 10 minute wait. So shame on you for slow burrito crafting time. 2. The slowness was then appreciated when I saw the care and heavy hand placement of every ingredient. Kudos. 3. All the ingredients were fantastically fresh, colorful, and perfectly cooked/prepared. 4. I am obsessed. Truly obsessed with Chipotle or as I call it, Crackpotle. I usually don't like chains but I feel good about Chipotle because they believe in sustainable agriculture. And, the people that work here are always so nice. Especially Jose(?)! Food quality is average-high at this particular location, but I find myself unable to answer the question: Why would I visit this location? Anna's is a 10 minute drive away, offers a better selection of ingredients, and is cheaper. The lack of variety at this location is really quite disappointing. The staff at Anna's are better trained as well; my order was keyed in wrong twice and created incorrectly to begin with. The one major benefit of this location is parking. But Needham Street is no slouch when it comes to traffic. If you need a mood lifter after your burrito, I suggest visiting EMS -- located next door -- and buying a fancy outdoor toy for yourself. read more

I live close, so I am usually here once a week. The staff are always friendly and try to keep on top of things. I came in earlier in the week because I wanted tacos, they had too many catering orders and were out of taco shells and they were waiting on lettuce, so I ordered something else. Tonight, I decided to try again for tacos. My bad luck, they were out of taco shells again. I mentioned that I had been in earlier in the week and had run into the same problem, but I ordered something else again tonight. When I went to pay, I was told that it was on them. They apologized that this happened to me again. While it was a nice surprise to get a free meal, I really felt valued as a customer. I know that they did not have to comp my meal, but they were proactive. This is what makes for good customer service! I will definitely continue to eat here read more

The people here must think I'm so strange, or that I eat a ton of Chipotle. First, I come here for myself. Then an hour later, my boss decides that he wants me to go get him some Chipotle. Then an hour after that, my coworker who can't leave her desk says, "You know what sounds really good today? Chipotle. Would you mind going there for me?" So yeah, sometimes I'm in here three times a day, getting three different meals. And no one who works here seems to notice or mind. I like it. These guys and girls are pretty good at moving through a lunch line. This has always been our go-to Chipotle location as it's pretty close to Waltham and you can get there easily from the highway or back roads. I don't think the food or service is anything different than you'd get from any Chipotle, but we also have never had one of those bad Chipotle experiences here where you have more than your share of gross tomato pieces or assertive onion skins. There are a lot of tables, which is better than most locations with those uncomfortable mini stools. They don't do the best job cleaning promptly, but I'd rather have the staff back behind the counter making sure the line moves fast. read more

staff need serious training, never seen a staff open a store late because of understaffing issues and choose not to inform their oncoming customers of that on that day! instead they choose to shew them away and when finally let in, they chose not to serve them food! Store hours are 10:45am, store opened @ 11:05 with 5 staff members behind the register with no sign on the door, no communication towards the customer. A few people at work have mentioned this place, one said it was great, the other said it was ok; I am siding with the person who said it was OK. I had the veggie burrito, pretty much flavorless and I was expecting more choices of toppings than the few that they had. This chipotle is actually horrendous. They change the hours EVERY. DAY. It says it's open online, but when you get there a sign on the door says it "closed early" EVERY TIME. Half the time you go there, there's is only in person ordering and no online ordering. The other half of the time they say there's only online ordering. They open the store and refuse to take your orders. It also varies per day, so you drive all the way there and it can't order, but there is no way of knowing because they don't post it online. They also run out of ingredients so fast. Don't even try to go after five because they will not have chicken, or even anything. Additionally, they go light on every ingredient so your bowl is tiny. They say online ordering takes 15 minutes, but I actually had to wait two hours after my pick up time for one bowl to be ready. This is a frequent occurrence. I wish I could give negative stars- go to the denim one instead. read more

I like chipotle generally but this particular location has not been clean in the seating area nor in the prep area. I recently tried going again last night and they ran out of white rice and said to everyone in line it would be 15 minutes. Most got brown rice (including me) and I was horrified to find the rice was not cooked either and had hard bits within it. The food here is good... When it is made correctly. I order online sometimes during the work week (even though when you do it takes an hour wait) because I am busy at work and want to swing in and grab my lunch quick. The line here can be horrific. Three times I have arrived after waiting an hour to come get my food and it has not been made. The order is grabbed by someone in the serving line and rushingly gets made while I have to wait longer. Doesn't that really defeat online ordering? I feel like I just got to skip ahead to the front of the line. Which is nice, but that's not the point. I did let the manager know and she didn't really apologize so much as make excuses. She even finished her schpeal with "I'm not making excuses, but...". This is Chipotle, I'm not upset, but its aggravating. I gave it one more try and surprisingly (even though I waited an hour and 15-20 minutes to get my food) it was ready. But is was made absolutely wrong. There were no tomatoes and no lettuce in my burrito bowl. Kind of standard stuff. I had rice, barbacoa, sour cream, cheese and corn. Very mushy and unappetizing. When I called to inquire the woman (who really wasn't very sympathetic) told me to just bring my receipt in the next time and say they messed up my order. And I would get a free meal. The trouble is, I don't want to go through that hassle. If you messed up my order you should refund it. Period. She said she couldn't take my credit card info over the phone. I came here for lunch today and honestly this is by far the worst Chipotle I've been to. The highlight of my chipotle experience is the chips & guac- today this was ruined by the chips being extremely undercooked and unseasoned and the guac being extremely bland.
