We rarely go to this chain so I am not sure if this was the typical experience. Despite the lousy ratings we walked across the street from our hotel to grab some take out. The crew they had working were either all trainees or just bad at their job. They didn't seem to know what to do and they were slow at doing it. By the time we got through the assembly line there was a long line. Also I don't realize that by getting queso on my tacos they'd charged another $1.70! The best part of the meal for me was the free guac we got with a coupon my wife had and the chips and queso - though a few of the chips were stale. The tortillas of my tacos were inedible. I tossed them and just ate the filling. They were rubbery and incredibly chewy. My wife's chicken bowl was better. Note to self: no more Chipotle! read more

This location seems very unorganized, it was very messy behind the counter with product in the way of the assembly line almost as if they were in the middle of prepping. Next time I go I definitely won't ask for guacamole. The spoons they use are like mini shovels. Guac is a condiment. Not an entree. The lady covered my entire bowl with a heaping snow shovel full of guac. Had I said "drown it in guac" maybe I could understand, but it was unnecessary and wasteful, and since guac is cold, by the time I got back to my office only 5 minutes late, my entire bowl was cold. This Chipotle seriously needs to fix its parking lot. There is a massive pothole right at the entrance that you practically have to drive through to get in. It's deep enough to easily damage a tire or rim, and it's shocking that it hasn't been repaired yet given how many customers come through here every day. If someone ends up with a flat tire because of it, that's going to become a real problem for the store. Another issue is the way the manager treats the employees. During my visit, the manager was openly rude to staff members right in front of customers. Watching employees get spoken to harshly in public is uncomfortable and frankly unacceptable. Employees deserve to be treated with respect, and customers shouldn't have to witness that kind of behavior while ordering food. I was so excited to see a drive thru Chipotle until I went there. First time my bowl had tons of sour cream even though I didn't order any...Went again today and there is literally an entire half of avocado in my bowl. They also didn't give me my reward which ironically was a side of guac but deducted the points. I've been to chipotle's across the country and they should not allow this franchise to continue! Easily the worst Chipotle I've been to. It's not obvious where to order and nobody greeted us, so I asked. The employee literally rolled his eyes and pointed. We ordered, then tried to find a clean table to sit at, but there wasn't one. Someone had even had left a spray bottle on a table and a dirty rag on another. We sat at a table outside, next to a table where someone had dumped some of their food all over a table and the ground and left it. We then realized we were locked out, and had to walk around the building for refills. Most of the food wasn't bad, except our chips were VERY stale, and when I went to tell the manager, she was in the process of telling the staff to throw all the chips away, because they were from yesterday. I said I was glad to see she was already on it because I was coming to let her know, and she just said, "Yeah, the ones over there are fresh." She didn't offer to replace our order or offer us new chips though, and I honestly just wanted to go. As we left, we hit a large pothole in the driveway on the way out. What a dump! This place is pretty new, and the reviews are all negative so I thought I'd put in my two cents, haha. I've been here probably 5 times, and each time has been a good experience. They are generous with their portions, and the food has been fresh and delicious on the occasions I visited. My only frustration is the chips, there were a few times I ordered chips with my burrito bowl and they were chewy. Bottom line, this Chipotle is still cutting its teeth and it may take a moment (especially in todays job market where it's difficult not only finding people who will work, but will not quit) to get stabilized with their standards/ consistency of service. If you enjoy Chipotle, give them a shot! read more

When I found out that Chipotle was coming to this side of town, I was excited! I thought FINALLY, since Grape Road and Main Street hosts many of the areas hot spots and generates a lot of traction. So, it is about time they expanded businesses on this side of town! This Chipotle bought out Fazoli's, operating in Fazoli's old building only obviously remodeled. Due to this, this Chipotle or the South Bend Chipotle is smaller than the Mishawaka location. So initially I went to their drive through hoping to avoid that possibility. Only to find out when I pulled up....their drive through is currently inoperable, not even having a menu when you drive up. Which irritated me and forced me to go inside. Originally, I wasn't concerned to go in because prior going in, I imagined there being less congestion, because of the building size and location. Wrong!!! When I walked in comparable to the Mishawaka location it was packed!! Having Chipotle's typical wrap-around the restaurant styled long line. Being my usual experience at Chipotle so far. But my overall goal was to try Chipotle's new Veggie Based Chorizo bowl. While standing in line the staff seemed very busy with having a smaller sized staff and only one cook. Then when my turn came in line to order their vegan/veggie chorizo after telling the preparer what I wanted RIGHT....before she put the veggie chorizo in my bowl, I caught her in action. Because as she attempted to serve me, when I looked down the meat looked horrible!!! Like dry burnt Bacon Pieces (the salad topping), even Bacon Bits looks better than the Chorizo did. I also noticed that the rest of the food supply was low needing to be replenished, and only mediocrely fresh. Then in catching her in the moment I asked her to ask to have the cook make a new batch of chorizo. What astonished me that the despite the horrible state and inedibility of the meat that "J" the preparer was careless enough to try to serve someone, ANYONE that! Gross!! Including not having enough initiative to have asked the cook in advance to make fresh chorizo. I was floored with disbelief!!! Disappointing, disappointing, tisk, tisk! But if that wasn't bad, I then had an egregiously long wait for the fresh chorizo to be made. Later when the chorizo was ready it was J once again who resumed making my bowl. "J" was rude acting like the whole situation was an inconvenience to her. She kept shaking her head, hap-hazardly putting my food in my bowl, almost as if throwing it. To top it off barely giving me any chorizo and having to ask her for more romaine. I was stewing by the time I reached the cashier, and of course I complained. Fortunately, the lady who rang me up resolved the situation by adding a generous portion of chorizo in a cup on the side, which helped. It is just disappointing to have this be my first experience here. But instead of giving Chipotle one star, because the situation was semi-rectified, I added another star. All I can say is hopefully in the future the attitudes of some of the staff will change and they will get more help. Because they are somewhat understaffed and some of them lack proper customer service demeanor. Shame, shame, shame. read more

Although I eat here a lot, it's because there aren't many vegan-friendly options close to where I live, and because I do love Chipotle's sofritas. But this is easily the worst Chipotle I've ever been to. Roughly half the staff I've encountered there are fairly rude to customers, and openly display some kind of constant annoyance (not at anything customers do - I don't know, maybe management just treats them poorly so they're always irritated...?). When I've ordered through the app for pickup at the window, they've gotten my order wrong several times, sometimes giving me a "bowl" rather than an actual burrito, and once making the burrito with steak instead of the soy-based sofritas I ordered. They frequently forget my drink, too, when I order ahead. It's bad enough that I won't order ahead anymore, because I want to see them make my food so I know they get it right. One time when I ordered ahead for pickup and came to their drive-through window, they made me wait more than fifteen minutes because they kept telling me they had a really big order ahead of mine. Why they couldn't slip in my ONE burrito I ordered and send me on my way, I will never understand, but they really, really did not seem to care. How much longer I would have waited I don't know, because I had to leave - my lunch hour was running out. Finally, the quality is really inconsistent. Sometimes it's at the level I'm used to from all the other Chipotles I've patronized, but sometimes it's pretty subpar. Dried-out tortillas, or ingredients that aren't as fresh I usually get from Chipotle. All in all, very disappointing compared to other locations. Because these problems are frequent, I suspect poor management. Which, like I said, would explain why the employees seem so commonly irritable. read more

I've been to a couple Chipotle locations in the area and have been extremely disappointed by the others. This location is by the far the best! Yes, they were extremely short staffed for a short period of time so I have been in a few times and had to wait longer than I would have liked to, but everything else was still great every time. I went in tonight and it seems like they now have a full team of employees and the line flew by. This is also the only location that lets me get extra cilantro when I ask. The employees are super kind and know what they are doing and you can tell they care about the job. read more

Second time at this location and it's still garbage. We walk in at 7:40 and the staff tells us that you can only order online. They said online orders start at 8 which we still had 20 minutes until then. Whatever, we stuck it out and went through the whole online ordering while sitting in the store when I could've just told them what I wanted and it would've been the same thing. After we placed our order we waited another 40 minutes before we got our food. Only two staff members out of the six that were there were evening doing anything. These two poor girls were working there butt off making everyone's orders while all the dudes just sat around talking. Passing through town and staying at a local hotel. We were excited to see this familiar place to help make for a great end to a large day of travel. I was wrong!!! While the staff seemed young I was the only one in line and could see 8 employees not helping me but chatting with one another. They did not help there only customer at the time. 3 of them had drinks in their hands behind the make like lol. Once my food was being made I looked down to see 20 black beans in my burrito bowl. I thought they were waiting for more but to my surprise they weren't hahaha. They did not have any of the make like items stocked and I asked them to go the their second make like to give me more rice and beans not one but two times. 4 requests for the right portion of food lol and it still wasn't the normal consistency you get at chipotle. They were "out" of kids meals, chips and forks. Those were just the items that I noticed. While on my visit I heard them make excuses or complain about... someone's boyfriend, the morning shift workers not prepping enough, supply chains, that it wasn't closing yet (8:15), a manager who wasn't there. The funniest part was I sat down to find that both of the meals I ordered were cold. I should have known!!! Just want to share if you are passing through you might want to lower your expectations. I was excited to see a new Chipotle open close to home. We ventured in last evening for dinner about 5:45 pm. Disappointing, found the ingredient bins to be low and ingredients looked dry or overcooked. Unappetizing. Burrito bowl was cold once served. I've eaten at several Chipotle locations nationwide and food is routinely lukewarm in temperature. Store was clean though (which I expected since it is new).
