Didn't know you can get free taco shells...
    Michael L.

Came in around 9 PM for a late dinner having finished an event earlier. There was a line, not too long, but after getting my order a huge line had formed, so it looks like this place gets pretty good business (being right next to union station and several stadiums and other hot tourist areas probably helps). It's a big bright store with lots of seating. Washrooms were huge and accessible private rooms as well; you could probably hold a small party in there. Ordered a bowl and while paying asked whether I could get free taco shell, and found out that I could indeed obtain taco shells for no extra cost. Ended up asking for 4 shells, two hard ones, two soft ones. The food tasted alright. Pretty average, but you get quite a lot for what you're paying for. There was more than enough for 4 tacos, and could probably have made at least 8 or 12 but the line-up was too long and I didn't want to be that guy that interrupts everyone to get more taco shells. Both taco shells were pretty good. Hard ones were nice and crispy, and soft ones had their appeal. I'm looking at other photos and see pictures of two tacos in the box. I think we got the better deal getting a bowl with shells on the side, for a little over $10!

This location really isn't feeling the love. Time to change that. I recently started working in the area an have hit this location for lunch a couple of times and one of those visits was during the peak of the rush. The line was long but they got everyone through in record time. The portions and quality are exactly what you would expect out of any Chipotle here or on the other side of the border. For a chain, Chipotle is top of the list for me. It's always great, filling, and hits the spot. Yes it's a little more expensive than some other places but I'll pay the premium to get high quality ingredients over the slop that some other places put in their burritos.

Bleh. I ordered the steak burrito but after seeing that the steak was already cooked and put in a bin, I changed it to barbacoa burrito. Worst burrito I've ever had. It was more like a rice ball burrito. And why would you charge $2.21 extra for guacamole?! The servers were terrible at listening, maybe because the glass partition was too high and the acoustics in the restaurant was terrible. The cash was annoy because they were too busy chit chatting with each other. They asked us a couple of times if we wanted drinks and we had to answer them both times. It was annoying because she looked at us like we were interrupting their conversation. Wow, I'm sorry. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because my wife likes the the vegetarian food here. No! You know what? I'm gonna stick to my guns! 1 Star!

Good cover to keep the Burrito box warm.

Two words: Burrito Bowls. For $10.10, you can get a great meal here and maybe even some leftovers. They are pretty busy during the lunch hour rush since it is by Union Station and the Entertainment/Financial district. I usually order the carnita burrito bowl. The meat is tender and I usually put brown rice, pinto beans, mild tomatoes, corn, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce. The staff are pretty friendly as they dump a load of stuff into the burrito bowls. I will never go back to original burritos and will definitely come back for more burrito bowls!

Beef bowl with everything. Sooooooo good

I've never been to any other Chipotle so I don't know if they skimped on the portions I got, but my first experience eating here was heavenly. It was super busy during Saturday at lunch, but the workers still seemed pretty friendly despite the rush. I got the beef burrito bowl. At first, when they piled the rice into the bowl, I thought it was a pretty small amount, but once they piled all the meat and toppings onto it, it filled up pretty quick actually. In fact, it lasted me 2 meals, though I'm not that big of an eater. The guac costs an extra $2 here, but it was such a delicious addition. I think it was pretty worth it. It was hard to find seating in here, though during my experience, people tended to leave right after they finished eating so if you wait for a couple minutes, a seat should clear up eventually. I would DEFINITELY come here again. It was delicious and very filling. Perhaps I'll go visit another Chipotle just to see if the skimped portions is true for this location or not. P.S. Carnitas = shredded pork Barbacoa = shredded beef

From my friends snapchat, as he was surprised at my tiny bowl. Both were same price and instructions.
    Nigel I.

This will be my first review as this was the first time a restaurant motivated me to do so. This Chipotle has severe consistency in bowl mix and portion sizing. Me and my friends all ordered chicken bowls. First thing I noticed was that I got half as much chicken as both the person in front of and behind me (they were both my friends). Also, when they asked for what I wanted I asked for "everything". I saw what my two friends ordered and what really upset me was they both got corn and lettuce and I got... A sliver of cheese and sour cream? I've attached a picture of two bowls for comparison which were the same price. The lettuce might make it more exaggerated but trust me when I say I received significantly less meat. I don't want to call out discrimination but this does call into question consistency. The reason one goes to a chain as opposed to a small mom&pop shop is consistency. I can take lowered quality as long as you know exactly what you're getting (take mcds or Starbucks for example). Once you take that away all you get is overpriced lower quality dice rolls of a burrito bowl which is what you get here.

Definitely not Mexican but always satisfying to eat their bowls. Guacamole is good. I like their choice of flavored water.

The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. The tinga chicken and the beef barbacoa were juicy and full of flavour. The portions was fair, the quality was a standout and tasted quite authentic. Overall, I really had a great experience at Playa Cabana, totally would come here again to try out their other dishes.

When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. I wouldn't have wanted a replacement anyway after that experience. I also had some fruit bites, and about 10 minutes later my stomach started gurgling. By the time I got home, I felt awful. I was shivering, felt like I was going to throw up, and had to rush to the bathroom. It honestly felt like food poisoning. And I still paid for my meal Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Cost to worth it rating: 4 ($US 150 for a good amount of food and drinks at this caliber is a steal) Opentableable: yes but not later Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best fine dining Mexican pizza, best service I've had ever, best trio of meats I've had Highlights: - Mexican pizza (aka tlayuda toloqueña): phenomenal invention and best thing I ate the whole trip. Fresh crispy tortillas combination of so many ingredients and melded well together from green chorizo to dollops of white bean to slices of carrot. 5 stars - Pork (pork secreto al pastor): most tender pork ever! Brined then sous vide and finished grilled. Surprise onion compote was wonderful plus slices of grilled pineapple. 5 stars - Duck (dry aged Hudson Valley duck breast) : I've had HV duck many times before but this is one of the most standout duck breast I have had. Tender not gamey at all and in a lovely sauce. I love duck and cannot comprehend why this blew y mind, but I'm happy it did. 5 stars - Hanger steak (prime hanger): cooked perfectly medium rare with a creamy au poivre like sauce on top. My friend would have preferred to be asked how it was cooked and she had to stick to the end pieces to be less pink--but I loved it the way it was. 4.75 stars (wonderful but I had to separate it from the others) - Chocolate mousse (spiced Mexican Hot Chocolate): light and airy but deep in chocolate flavor with a sponge cake made with honey that mimicked honeycombs. Another surprise hit. 5 stars - Scallop ceviche (Hokkaido scallop ceviche in a leche negra sauce): tender bits of scallops with avocado in what I equate to a black taco seasoned sauce made with ground up ingredients. 4.25 stars - Sweet potato (coal roasted sweet potato): large tender pieces with char and greens around. 3.5 stars - Atmosphere: open fire everywhere with the kitchen right out there, high energy in the low almost cave - like white stone dining room which was very unique - Wine: great - Abraham: delightful, fun, and well educated waiter who answered my dorky questions about the food - Utensils for each course: loved it so there was no mystery of what you were supposed to use to keep you out of any Pretty Woman situation - Service overall: outside of the waiter, every single person was amazing. From the people presenting our dishes, to the ones constantly wiping our tables, to the individual who chatted with us as we were waiting for our friends before we left. I dine out a lot and this was top notch impeccable some of the best service I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere. I can only think of Alinea that could top it. Midlights: - Cocktails: majority are mezcal which is understandable with the cuisine and smokey theme, but I'm not a mezcal person so options were minimal Lowlights: - Creepy dark basement bathroom

My wife and I just recently completed our 4th visit to this Michelin-starred masterpiece. We did make the mistake this time of sitting at the Chef's Counter in the middle of summer with the fire grills going, but it's such an amazing experience to watch them all be pros at what they do that it makes you forget about the sweat. Sitting at the bar is also equally fun with the engaging bartenders. The service and the ambiance of the long, corridor-like place is just incredible. The darker lit atmosphere gives it a really intimate but welcoming feel. And every server or bartender or chef we've talked to there has been equally friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We also absolutely love the fact that virtually everything is naturally gluten free (perfect for those with celiac!). This time around, we got the mushroom and shishito peppers (I don't even like mushrooms with the firm texture but these ones were insanely tender I would happily eat them whenever), tuna tiradito, empanada, and bone marrow and shrimp (not sure we've ever had bone marrow before or that we'd get it again, but it was definitely an interesting flavor and not a disappointment in the least). We also had a solo regular sit next to us who happily gave us a piece of his tlayuda which was maybe the best of what we got the entire night. Dessert was the coconut nicuatole, which was the perfect cherry (or pineapple) on top of another perfect dinner. In the past, we've also heavily enjoyed the scallop ceviche and coal roasted sweet potato and our friend also raved about the whole seabream. Their cocktails are also on point and the tasting menu with drink pairing is also hugely fun but come ready to leave stuffed because it's a LOT. Best restaurant ever and I can't wait to go back again!
