This is a nice small cozy place and can seat one big table with a few smaller ones. Once you enter you get greeted with mexican music and the vibe. I felt like I was back in Miami. The staff was very welcoming and kind. They were kind enough to put a candle on my churros for dessert for my birthday. Ordered Pescado, Al Pastor and Al Carbon. Each comes in 3 pieces for $21. You cannot mix or match at all. The pastor and carbon had some medium spice to it, tolerable a little after. I would certainly come here again next time I'm in the area!

Playa Cabana serves some of the best Mexican food around. The tacos are outstanding, packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of spice and texture. The atmosphere is warm and lively, with that perfect mix of casual and energetic that makes you want to stay a little longer. Every bite tastes authentic, and the presentation is spot on. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Mexican flavors done right!

Beautiful little neighbourhood gem! The patio was open tonight and we took full advantage, living out our taco dreams. We ordered the whole menu basically, starting with chips and salsa (solid) and ceviche which was perfectly balanced acidity wise and made for a great bite. Of course they also had great margaritas which leaned on the sour side but had a great kick. Next were tacos, and in order of excellence they were: - beef: explosive flavours, crunchy taco shell for texture, chunky guac - fish: perfectly crispy and lightly fried, lot of slaw but went nicely with the lime - chicken: meat was pretty good with the crunch shell and guac once again - pastor: meat was just ok but pineapple was great touch Finally, the reason this place gets that 5th star is the churros. This was probably the best churro I've ever had, with unreal textures of light crispness on the outside and soft doughy inside. It came with a cajete sauce with marshmallows, and that sauce took the churros to the next level. I can't wait to come back if only just for these churros.

The crispy tacos were so good, the soft chicken ones were average. The corn was very nice as well. The food was good I don't know if I would necessarily come back for it though. It annoyed me how they took reservations and didn't seat any reservations outside on the patio. They should put a disclaimer when booking a reso, the patio was the only reason we wanted to go in the first place. It was like an hour wait to get a seat outside since it was "first come first serve" I have been here two times and both times I went I got attitude from the service. They were just very rude and talked down to you when you asked a question. Very small restaurant and they seated us right next to the door so every time someone would walk past us they would bump us. I will not be recommending this place, staff was unprofessional.

Came here recently and the tacos were all delicious! We ordered different ones to share amongst us and the taco portion was good enough - came with 3 per tray. The service was great and the area was cozy and intimate.

I was tasked with finding a spot for a group dinner of eight and landed on Playa Cabana. It was pretty easy to make a reservation via their email system and our table was ready upon arrival. I don't know why I was expecting more of a kitschy Mexican restaurant, but that's not what we got. Instead, it was very intimate and cozy and the service was stellar... We had a great night! To start, we opted for some guac which was tasty and had a nice little kick to it. To eat, I split the elotes a la parrilla and an order of tacos al pastor with my husband. The soft tacos come in an order of three but you can add on a fourth, so we did that to share evenly. It was the perfect amount of food for us, especially since the tortilla chips kept flowing! The pork in the tacos was seasoned very well. I'm used to the meat being cubed rather than in strips, so this was different but still tasty. They really packed in the filling, so I left super full. To sip, we shared pitches of mojitos which were nice and strong... The drink menu was quite lengthy and again, perfect for our group of revelers. Mexican in Canada seemed like a risky choice, but this was an ideal meal for us! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for tacos OR a nice group dinner joint.

This place is one of those hole in the wall gems that looks to be a local favorite. It's a very small place but accommodating, have great staff, and really tasty food, margarita, and salsa. So glad we found this place. Best to book reservations to ensure seating. Street parking only. This is an easy place to miss since it's situated in a residential street.

*Shrimp Tacos *Carnita Tacos *Baja Fish Tacos These tacos were DELICIOUS. Each taco was fully loaded with ingredients and toppings! The shrimp tacos were served with sweet and spicy red chili shrimp, cheese, and guac on a crispy tortilla. The guac was absolutely amazing, one of the best guac I've had. 9/10! The carnita (slow cooked pork) tacos were sooo juicy! The onions and green onion on top helped cut down on the heaviness of the taco which was good. 8/10! Finally, the fish tacos! I almost didn't get this one but I'm so glad I did. The tacos had grilled white fish with guac, tartar sauce and cabbage. I put lime juice on top and it was amazing! 10/10! Playa Cabana has various locations downtown. It's always super busy so do expect a line if you're coming during lunch and dinner hours. Also, the tacos were on the expensive side, $18-20 for 3 tacos before tip and tax.

Ordered from Ubereats The packaging was very good and had the boxes were of high quality. The churros were one of the best I've ever had! Crunchy and fresh and not too sugary! The Side beans were really good, just as how I expected. The Braised rib tacos were amazing, make sure you order them with their spicy sauce to spice things up And finally, the Tacos de Camaron that comes with shrimp is also amazing, yet I prefer the Braised rib tacos

I went to check this place out last time but they were closed due to renovations, we sat outside nice weather but a little chilly anyhow the main attraction was the food so who cares lol, great service by the way, we got the pescado baja style taco which is a fish taco lightly battered I hate when it's drenched in oil like fish and chips, with the garnishes gotta have those, the fish was light and soft in texture, and tasted phenomenal, this place is hands down the best taco and Mexican food I had in Toronto, soft tortilla, these guys know what Mexican food is, and super authentic, a little pricey but honestly if it's pricey but the food is delicious I think it's worth it, the we got one entre we shared between us two, the short rib enchilada, suiza, which is a meal, which has rice, black beans topped with I believe is Mexican cheese forgot what it's called, and enchilada with short beef rib, the rib was cooked perfectly melts in your mouth, eaten with the rice it's a bite of heaven honestly I could eat 100 more of those plates and i wanted to lick the plate clean but people will think there's something wrong with me, the enchiladas oh my god out of this world, crispy bit soft in the inside, with that green sauce Marvelous this food is cooked with heart and soul and I think anybody that comes to eat here will appreciate it that, next time I'll bring my mom Here she'll definitely enjoy it

Flautas - surprisingly filling & had lots of beef inside
    Jasmine L.

Surprisingly good Flautas! They came as 3 rolls made of a crunchy tortilla containing lots of shredded juicy beef (although I thought it tasted more like pork haha). It all sat in a pool of thick savoury sauce that wasn't overly salty. I also tried their White Wine Sangria, $60 for a pitcher was OK for this citrusy drink with a decent amount of alcohol! TIP: if you're celebrating a birthday, let the staff know and they'll surprise the bday person with a hat, song & free slice of a DELICIOUS dulce Leche soaked cake ! Otherwise, the indoor seating space is really tight and the service was subpar.

    Fish tacos

Service was great. Our party of 6 all got different items and they didn't disappoint. Restaurant space is limited, but we were seated right away during non-peak dinner hours (early).

We ended up sitting at the bar since we were walk-ins. It is also a very low light restaurant, especially at night. so it might not be the best place for older adults or those who are visually impaired. Service was good, however, we were somewhat forgotten at times since we were tucked away in a dark corner. We ended up ordering the Truffle Fries, the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, the Korean Chicken, and the Vodka Pie. The truffle fries were crisp and plentiful. We added sausage to the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta, and it was delicious paired with the pizza. The Korean Chicken were bite sized and flavourful as well. However, The vodka Pie haunts me in my dreams. I think I crave this pizza about every week. The pizza at King Taps has one of the best crusts I've ever had, and the vodka sauce is to die for. It's sad to know that this pizza will rotate out, I'd definitely try it before it leaves! I will be back for the Vodka Pie, mark my words!

We started with the Brussels sprouts which is always a great choice from here. Crispy on the outside and not an overwhelming Brussels sprout taste. This is likely because there is a generous sprinkling of grated parm and a great amount of dip. We tried the crispy tuna sushi. The tuna was beautifully marinated, so flavourful. And the sushi was nice and crispy. The vodka pie was a seasonal item and when we saw it listed, we knew we needed to try it. The sauce- amazing, the press was nice and flaky and light and really tasty. And the soccer Sada added nice saltines and flavour without being too overwhelming. For happy hour, the apps and pizzas were $5 off, and the ranch water was $5. I'd come back for the pizza alone! Jeans was our waitress and she was great!

The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.

The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim.
