Ice Storm 2023 - Austin, Tx After a couple of weeks searching for a company to remove the broken limbs and clean cut the massive oak trees that lost the limbs, I was able to find Chippers Tree Service of Dallas. What a blessing they were! I gave Chippers Tree Service a call after hearing about them being in town helping out, Varo and his wife came out next day to work up an estimate. The pricing was fair, so I signed up. Other companies were so far out of price range, I wouldn't use them. As we all know there are plenty of drive by folks willing to do work after a disaster, but not insured or using safety practices. Chippers Tree Service is both insured and take the safety of the crew seriously. The pricing was very reasonable, the work was excellent and I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of Varo and the crew. I couldn't have asked for more. We had Chippers out yesterday to remove 7 post oaks 6-12" in diameter. Two of them were precariously hanging over my neighbor's roof, inches away from it. I was very concerned about those two, but after seeing them take the large limbs off without touching the roof, I knew they were good. They removed another tree in the front that died during the last freeze as well as the bushes around them. They even ground out an extra stump we had - thank you for that. Varo was great! He definitely knows what he's doing, and the bid I received was much better than I had received from their competitor. The crew was outstanding as well. DO NOT HESITATE TO HIRE THIS COMPANY! We were amazed at how this well-oiled machine went about their work. These 3 guys cut down 9 huge (but dead) Pyracanthas, trimmed another huge tree (professional tree climber), and ground down and removed some stumps left over from our trying to cut down some bushes ourselves. We needed two decently sized trees removed and got 3-4 quotes. Chippers quote was the BEST, and even with additional trimmings for others trees they did, it was still significantly cheaper than the highest bid we received for solely tree removal. They were well aware of the weather during scheduling as to not schedule us for a stormy day. Edgar at Chippers came on time, was easy to work with, emailed me the quote and most importantly, made me a really cool log bench for the back yard :) I had a large American Elm in the front yard that needed to be taken down and another larger American Elm in the back that needed trimming and a cable. I needed a stump ground so that a new 95 gallon tree could be planted in the same spot. And I wanted it done on a specific day to coordinate with the new tree planting. Fast, easy and efficient. -Called the office to send someone out to survey our trees and give a quote. Verro was super nice and professional and gave me a reasonable price. I also got a quote from another company but decided to go with Chipper Trees bc they were professional. The office person, Megan, always picks up their phone or calls back within a few hours. Unlike the other tree guy, I actually received an itemized quote, which was emailed to me via iPad right away on the spot. - Scheduling was easy. I was given a two hour window . It took the crew less then two hours to cut down a two story bradford pear tree and one crepe mertyl, trim a live oak and pecan, and blow leaves off the roof. They had a chipper to break down the branches and they cleaned up any stray leaves and branches. By the end, it looked like nothing happened. Wow. I highly recommend Chippers Tree Service. I recently purchased a home that had an overgrown Bradford pear in the front yard, completely shadowing the home. It was 20 years old and needed to go. Chippers came out within a few days and wrote up an estimate that was very competitive. On the day of the removal, they arrived early, which was great. Chippers is absolutely everything we needed in our tree removal service. We had just purchased a home and needed two huge pecan tree's removed. These tree's were all kinds of entangled into wires and we're so stunned at how they got them removed without causing damage. I am so pleased! I have a Bradford Pear tree cut down that was causing the grass not to grow with all the runners that were on top of the ground. They cut it down, ground the stump and the runners. Varo and his crew were very professional and were able to remove two large oak trees that were located right next to our pool. The trees were damaging the pool and had to be removed. I watched the crew as they expertly climbed the trees and removed them without damaging any of the surrounding obstacles including a fence and the deck of the pool. EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE in McKINNEY - we lost several large evergreens in our yard thanks to the Feb. '21 winter storm, and finally got around to having them removed this summer. We called several tree services for estimates, and Chippers was the only one who called us back. We got an estimate from them very quickly, they sent a crew to do the work within a few days, and they finished the job in a single day - including cutting, chipping, removing all the debris, and clean-up. Most importantly, Chippers did EXCELLENT WORK - they were very careful, thorough, and clean. When the guys were done with the job, we couldn't even tell they'd been in our yard, except for the empty spots where the trees once stood. More impressively, the trees had run in a long row along the edge of our swimming pool, and honestly *not a single woodchip* had fallen into the pool during the removal process - we expected the pool to be a mess after this big effort, but it wasn't! Taking trees down is expensive! We got three quotes to remove a large multi trunk red oak and was seriously leaning towards our house. Chippers was the last quote we received and was 25% less expensive than the second closest bidder, and nearly 60% lower than the original bidder. Great job all around. We called, got a time for a bid, and Varo showed up and on time (not as common as you'd think, but that's a comment for a different review). Varo was really knowledgeable -- he provided useful information about trying to keep different types of trees alive vs giving up. They took down 3 trees and pruned a few more. It was pretty interesting to watch their work on some really big trees. The price was competitive, but not the cheapest. There were a few minor issues (thanks for fixing them, Megan) that prevented the fifth star, but nothing that would stop me from recommending this company. read more

I just had a 36-year old green ash tree removed. The Darwin crew did an outstanding job! They were excellent. I thought I was going to lose some shrubs but instead they took off a fence panel and left my shrubbery undisturbed and the fence back to the way it was.
