We had a really big (REALLY BIG!) Oak tree that was over 180 years-old and shaded over 1/2 of our house. The tree began leaning against our house and had a dead spot in the center of it so it had to come down. I started reading reviews on local tree service companies and Chippers had the best, by far. I also confirmed their good work on Angie's List and Google and they had the same great reviews on those sites. I met with Varo so he could give me an estimate. He got there on-time and on the day I called. He was very knowledgeable about trees and was sad to see such a big, old tree have to come down but he agreed there was nothing that could be done to save it so it had to go. The crew showed up at 8:30 on that Friday to begin work and by lunch time they had well over 1/2 of the tree removed. It was raining so my wife allowed the crew to eat lunch in our garage and the guys were so considerate that they swept the garage after eating! We also have some chickens in our back yard and one got out while the men were cutting down the tree and two of the guys helped my wife catch the loose chicken and put it back in its cage. This is the kind of "above and beyond" service we experienced throughout the whole job. When they finished, they blew all the leaves off the roof and out of the gutter, raked the back yard and made it difficult to even tell they had been there. I purchased a home that needed to be demolished in order to build a new home. Unfortunately there were TONS (no pun intended) of trees on the lot that needed to be cut down and some needed to be trimmed. I searched the internet and called a half dozen tree companies for a quote. Amazing how drastic the price differences were. I got quotes from the low thousands all the way up to $24k. Fast, clean, professional, and priced right. They did an amazing job trimming an overgrown and large Live Oak. It was too close to the roofline and also blocked light from coming in my windows. I requested a quote from six companies for work on several trees on my property. Five of them came out to view my property and all said they would send me a proposal ASAP. Chippers was the only one that actually followed through with that. Their bid was competitive and they seemed to have all their ducks in a row so we went with them. Their team arrived on time and worked quickly, cutting down and stumping two trees and trimming a third in less than four hours. What really impressed though was that while drilling the stump for one tree they hit an underground sprinkler system. They could have just buried the damage, especially since I didn't know a pipe was running there but they had someone come out the very next day to repair it at no additional cost. It was amazing watching these guys trim the tree and remove the dead limb that was hanging over the driveway. Seeing that once mighty foot and half in diameter limb come crashing to the ground with a thud was humbling and exactly why I called. Kudos to Varo, the gentleman from Chippers that came to our house. I respect a business that is out to do the best for its customer's and that is the service we have had so far. We had a backyard tree we love, but with root issues, so we were going to remove it. Varo offered a solution in the medium term to let the tree grow a bit, then ultimately to have them install a root barrier. Perfect solution. We also have two front trees to remove that he quoted a very fair price for, and we'll need to take action to get permission from the HOA to remove them, but Varo gave us a great suggestion for the replacement tree.
