Wow i can't believe the service here. When i called in the staff lied about the hours, she said they close at 6pm when it says in google that they close at 6:30pm. I had to explain to her that i can only go around 6pm since i am working. After explaining, they suddenly can see me at 6:30pm. She was not giving clear instructions when we were setting up the appointment, also she was rushing me to give them my credit card number. When i asked what's included in the $235 first charge she said that they cannot see me. I am asking because it is obviously overpriced. WOW. JUST WOW. That's how horrible this place is. This review is long overdue, but better late than never. Dr. Latza was the best chiropractor and general healer I've found yet. I would highly recommend her. I've moved to several other places and have tried several times to find a chiropractor as nice and effective as her without luck. I came to her with a chronic lower back issues, and she healed me up very quickly and also addressed several other back issues and injuries that I had. She was also a great listener, and just super nice. My back has never been as happy and healthy as when she was helping care for it back then. I had a very good experience seeing Dr. Mazgaloff. I went in for migraines, and for an alignment. She explained in detail the reason for my neck curvature and started the progressive treatment to fix it. After a few weeks I can feel and see the difference! My experience was so bad. Amber Latza was more than 40 minutes late for my appointment. And I was hunched over in so much pain watching her just chatting away on a phone call. Meanwhile her current patient (the appointment before me) was just left waiting in the room. She misdiagnosed my problem, telling me I had a disc bulge when my problem turned out to be a dehydrated muscle issue. She told me that she was in-network for my insurance (she wasn't) and that my high co-pay was because how terrible my insurance was (it wasn't). I was in so much pain and it was so hard to walk over to the appointment so I didn't argue or double check. Turned out her colleague was in network for my insurance and if she had just referred me to her colleague my co-pay would have been only $15. Overall I over paid by more that $600 for a misdiagnosis and useless treatment. After, I went to Premiere Health who are so MUCH BETTER and actually solved my problem. read more

Before I met Dr. Mazgaloff I had lost quite a bit of range of motion in my neck. It was hard for me to turn my neck and at times it would be painful to do so. It was even hard for me to sleep with the discomfort and pain. I started feeling so much better after only a couple sessions. After deciding on a treatment plan and working with Dr. M for a couple a months I am so happy to report that I feel 1000% better. I've had weak joints for as long as I could remember. I would often feel nauseated from my neck not being able to hold up my head, fall over from my ankle randomly giving out, and feel my hips locked from walking for even just a short while. I have only been to a chiropractor once through using a Groupon, but aside from the X-ray there telling me that my neck was atrophying and I should just do yoga, that experience turned out to be a dud. I then scoured the internet to find a local chiropractor, because the pandemic proved to be a good time to really focus on things that matter. I found Dr. Mazgaloff's practice through the consistently high ratings, and immediately during my first session, I understood why. Amelia was very attentive and specific with what areas that we needed to work on, knowing exactly what we needed to do to jumpstart my recovery. I can't even say how great-full I am for Dr Mazgaloff's treatment. I have had cortisone injections, and internal medications to help with my pain. They have not helped at all, it continued to give me pain daily! Out of all the chiropractors in San Francisco FiDi, I'm fortunate to have found Dr. Latza two years ago and I have been making monthly visits ever since! She makes each visit feel like catching up with a friend because she is so friendly and great to converse with! Dr. Latza is really skilled as a chiro and maximizes the 30-minute appointment to address all the problem areas we discuss. She incorporates a lot of massage techniques to warm up the muscles before doing adjustments. If we weren't so busy chatting away I could probably fall asleep during the appointment! I have Kaiser ASH insurance which doesn't cover the entire cost of each visit, which is the only downside. The price I pay out of pocket is substantially more than what I paid my family chiro in the East Bay who could accept my insurance. However, to me the proximity and convenience of being able to drop by during work hours and the quality/effectiveness of service I'm getting is worth every cent to me. Plus being so conveniently located to my office in San Francisco FiDi, I'm sure the rent is not cheap! They have two gals working at the front desk, and I mostly interact with Beverley who is great! She is also very friendly and always follows up with me over the phone if she can't answer my question right away. They also have a couple additional staff who specialize in massage or acupuncture therapy. I'm curious to come back and try their acupuncturist sometime in the future. I was so glad they were able to open up again - albeit with limited hours - during Shelter In Place. Dr. Latza literally had the adjustment table soaking in a layer of alcohol before my appointment lol! I will gladly make the monthly trek into the city even if my work has us continuing to WFH! Excellent Chiro for pregnancy induced back pain. I was at a point where walking was extremely difficult. Dr Mazgaloff immediately diagnosed the issue and worked with me several times a week to get me back to baseline. She was great at explaining the issues and taught me ways to prevent the pain moving forward and also taught me exercises to do at home to prevent recurrence. Ever since seeing her and a massage therapist regularly, my pain is nearly gone. I am forever grateful. She was also very helpful when I had an issue with HSA reimbursement. Really great service, doesn't skimp on time. (I've had those 10 min chiro appts when they say, "You're fine, see you next month.") Helped me adjust my hip which was bothering me and work through some tendon issues in my hand. If salvation is what you seek - look no further. Amelia and Amber are the best chiropractors in the Bay Area. Trust me - I've been to a handful of chiropractors and they've been like sweat shops. They bring you into a crowded office space, make a couple of adjustments, throw a heating pad on you and call it a day. Chiro-Health is the complete opposite. Amelia and Amber focuses on your well-being and genuinely care about healing you. Not only do they do adjustments, but they also incorporate massages into your appointment. They also create customized physical therapy plans to expedite the healing process (at home stretches and exercises). If your body needs massage work, most PPO insurances will cover the massage at the chiropractor as well! Heidi, the massage therapist is a god-send and really complements Amelia and Amber's treatment plans. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. The triple threat really helped to heal my spine and neck like no other doctors could. Oh and did I mention they are open during COVID? I've been going to Chiro-Health as a regular since 2017 and I've seen both Dr. Mazgaloff and Dr. Latza, but primarily Dr. Latza. With the shelter in place and long term working from home, it's inevitable to have increase in stiffness and tension. I was unsure about going into the office, but I was so impressed by the guidelines setup to keep patients safe and how safe I actually felt. At any one time there's only one doctor and one patient in the office, plus there's a 15 mins buffer window between each patient for airing out the room and disinfecting all stations and equipments, and all workers wear scrubs and masks. Now that safety is out of the way, I'd highly recommend Chiro-health. I've been primarily seeing Dr. Latza, and let me say, her hands are wonderful. Like many other reviews mentioned, she starts off with 10-15 mins massage. Really to see how your muscles are doing and where you need more or less work. But man... it feels so good! It is so relaxing and stress relieving, I'd argue that it's better than most of the massage places I've been to. She would follow with some equipment adjustments such as posture pumps followed by the actual chiro adjustments, which has really helped alleviate a lot of my back pain. read more

Years ago, I saw Dr. Mazgaloff for lower back issues. I don't think I would have come out the other side for the better without Dr. Mazgaloff's assistance. Her unique approach combined different fields including stretching, chiropractic, massage, and exercise, which was the solution I needed. I was able to understand the underlying causes and how I could address them on my own because her trainer-like bedside manner. On her advice, I started using orthotic insoles during exercise and have continued using them for several years since. My pain and injuries return without them, and improve when I resume using them. Since then, I have periodically contacted Dr. Mazgaloff to maintain the orthotics and she could not make the entire process easier. *Update* - called another chiro shortly after leaving this office, who was able to pull up my insurance coverage with no issues. *Original review - I really don't understand the 5 star reviews here, may be everyone else is paying cash and I'm the only one coming here through Kaiser insurance (via American Speciality Health). Today was a huge waste of time. I wish I could charge this office my hourly rate as an attorney. I hate to leave negative reviews, but hopefully some others will find this information helpful. First, I made an appointment this morning, and was told to come in at 12:15PM. When I finally arrived, I was told that my appointment was actually 12:45, not 12:15. Receptionist apologized and said may be she told me the wrong time. No biggie, it's fine, I can look past that. Second, I had provided my kaiser insurance information over the phone during scheduling, and had previously checked with both the insurance as well as my health provider concierge that all I have to pay is $10 co-pay. When I arrived, not only did they tell me they could not find me in the ASH insurance system, but the dr. also proceeded to explain to me that the $10 co-pay does not cover their services, and I'll have to pay an additional $180 or so. I said I apologize, but that's not how i understand my insurance to work, but understand if you believe you have additional services not covered, that's totally fine. So i decided not to proceed with the services. I then immediately called ASH network to 1) confirm whether I am in their system, whether the dr. uses the same system or not, and if there are reasons why I wouldn't show up in their system, and 2) confirm what services are covered and whether or not the dr can just unilaterally decide to charge me additional amounts on top of my co-pay for covered services. The answer to 1 was that I am in in their system, and the dr uses the same system, so there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to confirm my insurance coverage, and for answer 2, my agent was willing to speak with them directly and confirm the service codes of things covered versus those not covered, so I can know exactly what i am being charged for. When I went back with the ASH agent still on the phone with me and tried to talk to front desk, however, they were both extremely rude and the dr. outright told me "there is no reason why I need to talk to them", and tried to shoo me away. This was something that could have been easily resolved. They could have gotten on the phone, confirmed i am covered, and just give me the service that I am covered for, and tell me what I am not covered for, and I could then have the option of choosing whether or not to proceed with the additional services. But nope, I am paying through ASH, so they would rather you just leave and not waste their time. Had they just told me this over the phone, I would have never wasted an hour of my life going through this troubling experience. So extremely disappointing and unnecessarily rude. Zero customer service. read more

Just wanted to put in another positive review for Dr. Latza, who has miracle worker expertise. I started having back pains from sitting all the time in the office. While I have seen other chiropractors before, none of them really got to the heart of the issue, the combo of skeletal and muscles. Dr. Latza incorporates a unique type of massage for like ten to twenty minutes before doing any of the adjustments in order to relax your muscles. This was so important to getting a good adjustment and address the problem entirely. I can't recommend Chiro-Health and Dr. Latza enough. Loving Chiro-Health! After adult onset scoliosis about 35 years ago I have seen quite a few chiropractors in different practices and different parts of the world. Doctors Mazgaloff and Latza are among the best I have ever found. Appointments are about twice as long as at the common quick adjustment places and include a good amount of soft tissue work which really makes the results last. 4-Stars: Dr. Dakoji, received a routine adjustment and felt pretty good that night and following day. She said to ice just in case, but not needed at all. 1-Star: Dr. Mazgaloff, needs work on your customer service skills...I had won an acupuncture session through a fundraiser, and scheduled an appointment. Then later, I tried to reschedule, but that's when everything went downhill. There was an expiration date and session needed to be completed by said date. No flexibility, no problem. But, that is when Dr. M got all hot & bothered - lecturing about how I need to respect other patients/nobody ever changes appointments times even when I called a week prior to the appt. (really?)/initially would not let me transfer the gift certificate to another person (really??). She was pretty defensive right from the start: her tone & language got tense; really talking down to me like I was a child. Wow, nice way to make your prospective clients feel so welcome. Due to Dr. M's customer service skills, I will not be back. From the other reviews, seems like Dr. M needs to work on her polite skills. I want to put a thousand stars but they only limited me to 5. Dr. Mazgaloff and Dr. Latza are amazing. I used to always have back pain even when I'm sleeping because of my scoliosis (S and C) and to have weak legs, but when I started my treatment at ChiroHealth my situation improved and I'm occasionally feeling pain when I extremely exhaust myself and my legs became much stronger. They really are skilled professionals and so lovely. I like that they gave me exercises to practice at home, becuase the exercises are helping me a lot as well. I am happy that my situation is improving thanks to them. Also, Shauna *sorry if I spelled her name wrong* is so lovely and she does her best to help me with setting my appointments. Dr. Mazgaloff is incredible. After a few visits, I went from waking up with back pain every morning to now being consistently pain free. I went from regularly tweaking my back to now rarely having any acute pain. Her office is super accommodating -- helpful in handling insurance and the available appointment times are very convenient. I've been dancing ballet, modern, and other styles since I was eight. Since my teens I've struggled with chronic injuries/inflammation in my shoulders/back, knees, and ankles, and was told by teachers on many occasions to see a chiropractor. Lord, I should have gone the first time I heard that. Fast-forward several years and I had a severe muscle spasm in my shoulder during a dance class that brought me to the ER. Fantastic. Should have came here way sooner. One unique thing that I love about this office is that the staff and doctors are all female. This matters to many women who have dealt with male physicians, massage therapists, etc. who crossed their physical or personal boundaries. Everybody in the office is cheerful, welcoming, and actively concerned for your well-being. Alma, the receptionist, is super helpful in checking your insurance benefits for you and always on top of scheduling. I've been seeing Dr. Latza since last October, immediately after my visit to the ER. We connected immediately because of her personal experience as a former gymnast, professional experience working with dancers, and her willingness to explain body-related concepts in a simple yet knowledgeable manner. I look forward to our weekly/biweekly visits because of her positive attitude and magic ability to make me feel as if somebody lifted 50 lbs off my back. She caters her advice specifically to my lifestyle needs and body type (small frame and hyperflexible joints) to ensure I can keep dancing for a long time. It's unlikely I'll ever "transition" out of needing chiropractic due to the nature of my work, so she gives me the knowledge I need to continue improving my practice and the state of my body for as long as possible. When I started seeing Latza, I could barely move my head and any shoulder isolation caused me pain. I had so many neglected issues from the course of my training/career that I had simply accepted pain and stiffness as part of the choice I made for my profession. In the past nine months, my shoulder and back mobility has improved dramatically, to the point where I no longer feel any pain shrugging my shoulders, turning my head, or arching my upper spine. I haven't experienced an episode of severe pain since January, whereas before I started seeing Latza the same injuries would flare up multiple times a year and often leave me immobilized for a couple days at a time. She's taught me how to move more effectively and care for my body properly, and I have no doubt she's doubled the total length of my career by now. Firm believer now that everybody should see a chiropractor at least once in their lifetime (and if you're a dancer/athlete/anybody who uses their body for a living... get one on speed dial). When the recurring pinched nerve in my neck decided to show up several days before the end of a trip (and on a Friday), I was in desperate need of some relief in order to get through the rest of the week but I wasn't sure I would find an appointment. My insurance provider recommended Chiro-Health and I called as soon as they opened. I explained the situation but unfortunately their acupuncturist was booked through the day and weekend. After calling several other acupuncturists with no luck, I called Chiro-Health again and left a message, in case they had any cancellations. Luckily, they called me about an hour later to say they could fit me in that afternoon! When I arrived, they were nothing but pleasant and got me through the paperwork and into my session quickly. Before letting me change into the gown, Agatha confirmed some details and then was very gentle, friendly, and informative as she worked. She used the myofascial release method, along with leaving needles in a few of the typical relaxation points. Long story short, I entered with a moderate level of pain and was unable to turn my head more than about 60 degrees in either direction. I left with almost full range of motion and although I had some residual tightness, I was in no pain. I've been coming to see Dr. Mazgaloff for half a year now. I originally came for plantar fasciitis but she has addressed so many more issues than that including working on my posture, leg length and strengthening my shoulders and feet. I have seen another chiropractor in the city before and the experience here is so different. At the previous clinic, appointments were very standard: 15 minutes broken up into 10 minutes of alignment and 5 minutes on some motorized machine.
