I went to Hanson for over a year now, so I have had time to understand my experience. Initially, I went for my neck pain and they were able to fix my problem and help me through it. Those two stars go to that victory, Lynn at the front desk, and the massage therapists. I am a good example of a person falling through the cracks when it comes to the assembly line at Hanson's. Basically, they hand you a letter and you wait for your turn for 1 of 3 chiropractors, no guarantee which one you may get will be adjusting you. They will look at your chart, read notes and record, but the care is dispersed between all the doctors. Why did I fall through the cracks? Because I have scoliosis and someone didn't realize there was a pattern that they need to do light adjustments on my back when I'm in pain. As the patient, I have full trust in my doctor/s and trust that they know what is best. The regular adjustments on my back caused my lower spine to become irritated with the addition of working in healthcare. It was not malpractice nor a work injury, but the combination of the two. I ended up with a spinal disc injury, which they failed to even tell me/diagnose me with. I have not been at work for almost 3 weeks because of this and I faced losing my job. I'm still in pain and struggle to do daily activities. So, yes, I'm very frustrated and I prefer seeing only ONE chiropractor at a time because the care is 100% and one person is able to focus all their attention on you. Not just for 5 minutes for $58. I'm sad because I really liked all my doctors, but when I brought this issue up and tried to be vulnerable, I was gaslighted and told that they did nothing wrong and that I was not going to receive any resolution other than to keep coming back. I just hope that I can avoid this from happening to someone else because I suffered so much. I ended up going to another chiropractor and spent over $700 to help me fix my spine. read more

I arrived a Hanson Chiropractic 5 weeks ago. Evaluating the X-rays, it showed my neck was severely out of place and causing me headaches. Also, I have suffered Migraines for years. I got a groupon here and saw good reviews, so I decided to give it a shot... given my previous experience with chiropractors, I know there are good ones and there are bad ones, and that it's hard to tell the difference sometimes. The staff was friendly and knows their patient, and was very helpful, but I feel the office is always maxed out and there are tons of patients in at the same time (like a dozen) while there are only 2 or sometimes 3 practitioners (not sure if they were all doctors). My first visit resulted in additional x-rays that Dr. Hanson convinced me was necessary to see if I had leg length discrepancies. I voiced concerns about the radiation exposure since we have a family history of cancer, but after he talked more about the need for diagnosis, I agreed and paid an additional fee for it. Afterwards I definitely felt I was pressured into it. Prior to me leaving, he says he was most concerned with my "subluxation" but that I should come in again before discussing treatment options. When I returned, he showed that I had a discrepency of 10 mm between my legs (which another chiropractor pointed out is true for most of the population). Unlike the doctor at Lake Union wellness, they seemed much more seasoned at their practice. Unfortunately, similar to Lake Union, I feel like they were following a schedule that maximized their profits. I do get the feeling that they believe that this schedule is beneficial, but was firm to not get sucked in. I have read medical articles that said extensive spinal manipulations have been shown to have negative health effects and neck manipulations in particular leads to greater risks of strokes. Based on my previous experience with Lake Union and their "maintenance" care. I did research, and found overwhelmingly that most reputable and well know chiropractor as well as spin specialist warn AGAINST such a practice. I Cannot say enough great things about Chiro One! I came in with severe sciatica pain and the staff was very caring and understanding. My doctor was phenomenal and friendly. He listened, showed compassion and empathy and always had the friendliest smile. I came in on a pain level of 10, left with a pain level of 6 and this morning, pain level of maybe 3. My experience with Hanson Chiropractic and Injury would be zero stars but you can't give that so it would just be 1 star. My complaints - The cost per adjustment would be $58 and lasted 2 minutes tops and they were just rushing you to leave the door. - For the first adjustment everything seemed fine and they gave me a letter in the alphabet and told me to wait in line like the rest so after that I made appointment for another adjustment that's when everything went south. The second time I went they gave me a letter in the alphabet like usual but every single time it would be a different chiropractor and they're just doing the same moves/techniques each time and I went for 4 times and it costed a total of $232 just to feel even worse then when I got there. It's just so STUPID you can't have only one chiropractor but multiple doing the SAME thing charging $58 for a minute of work - I told them in detail what's wrong/hurting and even gave them an x-ray but they just struggled it off like it was nothing and just kept doing the same moves and wasting MY TIME AND HARD MONEY - Don't trust the the good reviews at Hanson Chiropractic and Injury it's fake and false and it will make you assume they are a good place to go but in reality it's the worst and should be a 1 STAR instead of a 5 star place - When you walk in for a consultation they say they will help you and they are the best chiropractors around but they aren't. Hanson Chiropractic and Injury cares about your money and not your health they simply just don't care about you. 1. FREE CONSULTATION IS NOT FREE. I paid a co-pay and extra for x-rays which isn't discussed before they told me to go in for an x-ray. Then at the class I find out they hand out vouchers for 40$ consultation for a friend with x-rays included. Super annoying. 2. I went in with minor back pain. I had one adjustment and the next week my back froze and I couldn't breath. Had to leave work and go to a friends Chiropractor. Turns out I have underlying issue causing a Sublixated rib which was never mentioned at Hanson's chiro. I believe they made the problem worse, I'm in constant pain and having to take the slow road to getting better. 3. They're worse than car salesmen. I told them I wanted to think about the care plan before I committed. They asked me more than 4 more times, and I had to make two appointments before they would let me leave and just canceled them afterward. read more

I used to enjoy going to Dr. Hanson's office until recently. I had a similar experience that Syamasundari D had posted. I called the office and spoke about my concerns to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Too many patients without enough supporting staff. I believe that's why my lower back got injured. The person handling the area I was in was having to look over 4 additional people other than me. I'm now going to another chiropractor, getting PT, and had x-rays and MRI done to confirm the damages. This has been going on 3 weeks. My 2 toddlers, husband, and family has suffered from this. The hardest part was not being able to pickup my kids and hold the, cuddle with them for the first 2 weeks, and not being able to go to their extra curricular activities. Understand I don't post negative things. But want to prevent this from happening again to anyone especially a parent. read more

I had a good experience coming here after a car accident. The doctors were understanding, careful, and very attentive. I appreciate that they were so thorough with the initial examination and treatment plan. After giving birth I decided to come back for neck and back aches from breast feeding and carrying around the baby. I also got really nice massages here during the pregnancy. The only thing I would change is the way visits are setup. Even with an appointment, you could be waiting 45 mins due to the way visits are setup. I guess it is the burden of being too busy with loyal clients. Overall, I recommend coming here because they do a really good job. read more

I did something to my lower back (unknowingly) while going through my normal routine one morning and was in more pain than anything I've ever experienced. Many days of tears to follow... but, I didn't want a band-aid, I wanted it repaired. A friend suggested this office & I have been seeing the Doctors at Hanson Chiropractic for just under two months now. I am in NO pain!! It hasn't been as quick as a pill would have been, but I don't want this (or any other back pains) coming back with a vengeance, when I least expect it... so I'm going to stick with this great group of friendly staff, compassionate & knowledgeable doctors to keep me adjusted and healthy!! All about the money!! I was there to get my neck checked due to a discomfort and initially they were nice, they didn't verified my insurance, they said we will discuss on your next appointment, on the following appointment I was Charged over $100 for the visit, one of the chiropractors told me that after my insurance( which I have one of the best) I was going to pay $400 a month for at least 4 months for the treatment and when I told him that I needed time to think about it, his demeanor changed immediately, For a second I felt like I was dealing with a sales person not a doctor that cares about taking care of me, I have good coverage with my insurance so im not sure what they were going to charge me, I don't usually write reviews but this one was needed. read more

Unfortunately this clinic has disappointed me for the past 6 months. I do like how you can get in when ever you need to but, many times when I've been scheduled for an appointment with Dr. Hanson and show up after work, they tell me he's not there. I don't get any phone calls to let me know this so I don't waste my gas and time coming in and him not being there. You know when your going to be gone and it's not difficult to go through the schedule for a certain doctor that's out and call his patients to let them know. I use to do scheduling for a PT clinic, I know this. It's poor customer service and they've done this to me at least half a dozen times. One time they called me and I really appreciated it but it hasn't happened since. I have complained about this before and they assured me that they were going to change and make every effort to not let this happen again.... well it happened again today. I drive all the way from Marysville from my work to their clinic and they don't have the decency to let me know. It's rude, unprofessional and poor customer service. I have been coming to Dr Hanson's office on and off for years. I like the one stop shop he offers. I like that he explains other techniques I should be doing at home to help my progression. Also giving me different tools to do so my back recovers and stays in recovery. At first I was a little skeptical of the open room adjustment tables but have over come that feeling. I had a car accident that really messing up my neck and spine pretty bad. Not only did they get everything perfectly aligned over the course of about 5 months, they also referred me to a lawyer that helped take care of everything related to the accident. The experience is a bit different from other chiropractors where you wait in an open area with the tables, but that doesn't bother me. I did get rotated through several chiropractors over the course of my adjustments, but they were all really informed of my situation and really professional. My husband reached out to the practice to inquire about coming in. Someone responded with an e-mail and said that they can set up an appointment for a free consultation plus a free 1 hour massage. My husband proceeded to make an Appointment for the free consultation. He showed up that day and was "examined" by the doctor, who recommend that he needs to go take x-rays and come back for a follow up appointment to discuss. Because it was an "examination", we were charge $30 co-pay even though the e-mail stated that it's a free consultation. He brought this up to the front desk and they apologized for the confusion but didn't explain the difference between what the e-mail stated and the actual appointment that day. We are upset that such a big business is using such deceptive practices. Luckily we had insurance and only had to pay $30, otherwise we would have been stuck with a larger amount that we weren't being made aware of at the time of scheduling and prior to the appointment. I sincerely wish that I could write a positive review for this place. I have experienced healing and recovery thanks to Dr. Giles (who deserve 10 out of 5 stars) who treated me most of the time. Unfortunately, my experience was in line with so many others. I informed the clinic that I had a high deductable insurance, and would pay out of pocket. I paid for the entire service up front. I even paid for an additional series to fully recover. Still no charge to my insurance. Everyone was fully aware of my insurance parameters. Still each visit was charged to my insurance, and on my last adjustment day I was informed that they are charging me an additional. Stating that I needed to sign a form stating that my insurance will not be effective in the time I am receiving treatments. When reporting my concern for the cost, Tanya (the billing specialist) stated that the form I signed outlines additional cost to me of insurance denies coverage. You may see the cyclical issue I find myself in with this clinic. My sincere advice to everyone looking to go here is to review the most common reported issue with the clinic. And how the complaint is quite common. I would also caution anyone with health issues that may cause an immunity issue. Dr Hanson, the older blonde lady near the window, and the physician with alopecia wear shear thin masks, and have been informed that the clinic is not vaccinated. I took my daughter here for a laser treatment, before I knew they were doing a full exam and not doing what I originally asked for. She did finally get the laser treatment after I pressed we wanted it on the way out the door. It all happened very quickly and we did not really understand what was happening until they exam was done and I was charged some $300 for it. In the end the recommendation was for a lot of services that would cost several $1000's. We have a chiropractor we are happy with that does not cost near that much, if she needs adjustment we will go to him. They are one of the few places that does the laser therapy so we will go for that but be careful when you go in, be very clear about the services you need and want or you may get far more than you ask for or need. read more

I have a fused neck, permanent spinal cord injury and permanent L-5 nerve root damage. I have a long list of symptoms and I want to improve my life and be able to do more with less pain and less or no medication. I had heard good things about the Northwest Chiropractic Group and thought I'd give it a try. Hanson Chiropractic is part of this group and was eager to get started. The so called neurological testing was incomplete, and Dr. Hanson didn't listen to what I was saying. Every visit he kept telling he could "fix" me and I had to see him 3 times a week for 13 weeks. I told him I was in more pain and going backwards. His response was always why he had to fix me. He ignored my injuries, medical proof why my spine can't be "fixed", and why aggressive manipulations with no rest in between can cause more damage and harm than good. His office layout is NOT following HIPPA laws. He adjust you in front of other patience where you can hear each person's issues. I consulted my ARNP another Chiropractor and a Neurologist, the all advised to fire the Dr. and seek a chiropractor who listens and adjust my entire body not just the "sections" that are causing issues. If you want to be heard, treated like a person and not cattle, have a Dr. who medically understand you can't "fix" people then DON"T go to this office. His techniques can permanently injure people and/or send some people's health backwards. read more

Dr. Hanson took his time to evaluate me and took X-rays to ensure I was receiving proper treatment. This practice was really not a good fit for me. I had seen a chiropractor in the past who I really liked but has since retired. I am used to having a doctor that knows me who I see privately. With the exception of the initial consultation, all of the adjustments are done in a big room with a bunch of other people. You have an appointment but you still get a laminated card with a letter on it and when your letter comes up you get on the table to get adjusted. This means you get whatever doctor is ready for the next patient. It's very impersonal. They have to look at your file when you hand it to them to even know who you are and what your condition is. You are also 2 feet away from two other people on each side of you who are also getting adjusted. It really felt impersonal and more like a chiropractic factory. Everyone I dealt with was nice but I want to have the same doctor. I want to have a relationship with the person providing my care. I am unwilling to believe that this kind of a system can provide care as complete as having the same doctor who can get to know you and your needs. read more

When I first went to Dr Hansen , I had been suffering for years with severe, chronic pain at the base of my skull.in addition to debilitating pain..I was consistently dizzy and my equilibrium was terrible...felt like I was walking on a ferryboat. I had already pretty much given up on being able to function anywhere near normal ever again.I had gone to dozens of doctors and specialists and their only answer was pain medications or psychiatrist. None them knew how to help me. A friend of mine suggested that I try Dr Hansen.. I had told her that I did try a chiropractor before and it didn't help much..she told me that Dr Hansen really was an exceptional chiropractor and that I had nothing to lose... So try him. Well, with Dr Hansen's specialized and individualized treatment plan..I started feeling relief within a short period of time... and progressively continued to getting better as each week passed. The one thing i noticed from other chiropractors is that he constantly keeps up with continuing education training and always offers the latest in advanced treatments , He also isn't afraid to immediately integrates this best technology in his practice...unlike alot of providers that continually fail to keep up to date with the current education and training and do the same treatment options year after year. I went in to Hanson Chiropractic looking for massage therapy for neck and shoulder tightness. I have been receiving massage therapy but was looking for medical massage. They advertised a free consultation so I made an appointment and went in. Of course they find something wrong and suggest x-rays, no explanation of costs and since it advertised as a free consultation, I didn't think much of it. My 2nd visit they explained my neck lost the normal curve and needed treatment. I agreed to treatment since I was still having tightness in my neck with regular massage. The initial costs stated was over $1600 out of pocket with insurance! I said I couldn't afford that so they gave me the "patch" treatment at $600 out of pocket saying I needed the full 15 treatments my insurance pays. I went in for my 15 visits, taking about 10-15 mins. each, sometimes after a long wait.They took out my copays each week. Finished my 15 sessions and I get billed another $102. I called and they said I had 2 extra visits. I counted my visits on my calendar as well as had them send me a statement of visits. I had 15 visits which I had already paid my $600 out of pocket for plus my initial visit that was a free consultation. Nothing in my contract, nothing that was stated to me about extra costs during all my visits said I would be paying over $700 with insurance. My understanding was the $40 copay for each visit and at 15 visits equals $600. They want me to continue treatment and of course they say it will take another 15 visits to "cure" me. Coincidentally, my insurance gives me 15 more visits starting in Jan. Will I go back? No, if I need chiropractic care I will go elsewhere because of their deceptive billing practices and I was never consulted about massage therapy which was my original reason to go there and stated on my first visit. read more

I would NOT recommend going to Hanson chiropractic. Mr. Pete Hanson does not treat his patients with the care that is needed for there issues. Making them worse in the process. After wanting to leave they kept pushing for me to stay because it would be beneficial. It was not, They were just doing adjustment that made everything worse. I was treated for chronic low back pain over the course of several weeks before moving out of state. I've never had such a thorough analysis of my spine and explanation that just made sense. My family doctor referred me to a physical therapist but the results were nothing like what I was able to get with Dr. Hanson. I would have to agree with Charlie L for the most part, only I would question even more their motives. The whole place is set up to sell sell sell!. Three tables and lots of waiting. I to was told I was a half an inch short and asked to wear a heel lift (in fact two 1/4" heel lifts taped together). Go ahead and ask around. You don't wear a heal lift if your leg is truly that much short. You need special shoes or orthotics. 50 plus years old and all of a sudden I'm a half inch short? all the doctors, and other Chiropractors I've seen and no one has noticed that before? I think not. I had a therapist and my personal doctor confirm my leg length is normal. Maybe some shortness from muscle tension but not a sort leg. The short of it all (pun intended) they did nothing to help my leg pain after three weeks and 10-11 visits. . A little research and a trip to the therapist, and some ibuprofen and one week later feeling like new, I suggest you pass on this place. read more
