Dr Grossman had treated me for lower back pain when she first started practicing chiropractic in 1996. After many years of seeing my GP and other doctors i made appointment with Dr G and within weeks of treatment and recommendation on stretches i had no pain and was back to my normal activities. Dr. Grossman and staff are amazing. They work very hard to solve the inherent problem with spine and aging. I have been going to chiropractors for 30 years and never met a doctor like Dr. Grossman who has a very comprehensive approach to helping whatever problem you have. I had a walk-in appointment and was extremely concerned about the lack of precautions the team at Chiropractic Chicago took in regards to COVID. I will caution that Dr. Grossman was not in the office, but when I arrived neither the receptionist nor the substitute Chiropractor wore masks. At first I thought this surely was just an accident, until I walked into the waiting room where a video played on a reel that essentially tried to dispel mask-wearing and downplayed the severity of COVID. There was no hand sanitizer, nor were they cleaning after patients used equipment. I felt extraordinarily uncomfortable, and thought my experience showed a disregard for basic safety protocol we've all been asked to follow. While I enjoy my visits with Dr. Grossman, this felt irresponsible and I will not be returning. read more

I have been a patient of Chiropractic Chicago and Doctor Grossman since about 2003. She has consistently provided excellent and very affordable care in her office. She has helped me turn my health around, offering not only spinal adjustments but many other alternative and holistic medicinal treatments. She has provided my family and I attentive and thorough physical therapy work through my many years of playing ice-hockey, soccer and rock climbing. I quickly got through many injuries with an adjustment, electro-stim therapy, guided stretches and supplement recommendations. DR. G also is the only doctor to figure out that I had Celiac's disease and many food allergies/restrictions, while other traditional MDs and natural practitioners did not have a clue. Dr. G's office offers not only chiropractic care and wellness. She has professional masseuses, whom we trusted to provide my Aunt, whom suffered from Alzheimer's disease, to weekly massages. I would recommend Doctor G without hesitation to anyone seeking chiropractic care AND to anyone whom is seeking to improve their health and longevity. Aside from my initial first impression of this place, which was not good. They turned over what was supposed to be a workman's comp insurance claim to a collection's agency 2 years after doing work on me without so much as a phone call to let me know what was going on. My first visit with Dr. Grossman was prefaced by forcing me to watch a 20 minute video on chiropractic care which basically tries to sell you on their services. Then before I was even examined I was given a full set of xrays, which were not necessary especially not right off the bat. Dr. Grossman and her staff are nice, but they totally exploit the field of chiropractic care into a huge expensive show. I only went to this chiropractor and continued going was because I hurt my back at work and I didn't want to keep searching for a better doctor. So, long story short, 2 years later Dr. Grossman decides to give my name over to a collection agency for monies owed. If they kept decent paperwork in the first place, they would have known that all of my invoices were supposed to be sent to my employer to be paid in full by them. They must have known they screwed up because I never received so much as a phone call from this office telling me there was anything owed. Please, never go to this Chiropractor, they will screw you. Try Division Chiropractic instead Dr. Alicia Cohler is amazing and will not scam you out anything. read more

I really was a fan of this place until they lost their receptionist and to some extent a lot of the organization. On my last visit, Dr. G was clearly behind. An adjustment takes usually 15 minutes...and since I'd visited so many times, I was used to the same adjustment every time. This last visit, I got half my adjustment...and still paid full price. I'd much rather pay for a 1hr. massage than a 15 minute half-ass adjustment. Bummed me out. :( read more

*New Potential Patient* Dr G. Great attitude! However, I feel a tad disappointed & mislead. The receptionist didn't inform me that there was a consultation fee? I appreciate that they saw me last minute spur of the moment, I was inquiring about signage on the window, I asked if I could get more info or come in since I was already in the area, the receptionist check with the doctor & let me know they could see me. I filled out questionnaires and waited for the doctor, the doctor let me know she fitted me in her busy schedule & I thanked her, she talked to me about 15 mins about cell health and how a detox need to be designed for the entire body, because if all the heavy toxins our bodies absorb. I was unaware that this quick non personal consultation would cost me $25 I was shocked that no one made me aware? Especially, when I first entered or while filling out paper work. It left me feeling like money was more important then my overall health. It made me feel like this was just another "clinic" looking for payment & not results. For that reason, I will continue my search & will not return to this practice. read more

I saw Dr Grossman and her staff for many months after moving to Chicago and needing relief for my carpal-tunnel-like symptoms (really caused my muscle strain due to computer use). She is great to work with and really deals well with explaining things. The front office staff (Margaret and Cristiana) also are the best ladies... always ensure that bill are in order, doing treatments, and good to talk with. I -highly- recommend this office for anyone looking for chiropractic case, massage therapy, and the many other services they offer (like acupuncture). I have dealt with back issues (2 herniated disks, and a bulging disk) for many years and used medication as a way of dealing with it. I have always been a skeptic on Chiropractors.So, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Dr. Elissa Grossman has kept me together for 20 years. Most importantly eliminating my prior extensive back problems, but at the same time looking after my total health. I enjoy a pretty extensive workout schedule which includes running lifting and swimming and on a number of occasions Dr. Grossman has done an excellent job of getting me through injuries and back to the weights and the treadmill. **just an fyi - the clinic is called Chiropractic Chicago. i wrote the following review under that business name. I started seeing dr. grossman (or "dr. g" ) in 1994 after i began having numbness in one of my legs -months after i took a fall down my icy front (concrete) stairs. i was a little wary of doctors in general and i didn't have insurance. i had actually gotten a recommendation for another chiropractor at her original office on webster (?) but he was out of town. (thank goodness, the one time i did see him, he was so awful, i had bruises and he told me he could cure brain tumors thru chiropractic) dr. g was very friendly, patient and genuine. the fact that i didn't have insurance didn't phase her. i was able to pay her what i could as often as i could until i paid what i owed. after getting xrays, she diagnosed my problem and explained why i was feeling numbness. she's eager to educate a patient who is new to chiropractic care and generous with her time. when i felt i was ready, she treated me. and within the first couple of visits, the numbness in my leg was gone. i would get adjusted once in a while after that. i got to know her better with each visit and could (can) count her as a very good friend. even after i moved to san francisco in '95, i would make appointments at her halsted office for adjustments when i was home for holidays or weddings. i moved back home in '01, found her north ave office and get adjusted periodically. i was adjusted by dr. g thru both of my pregnancies (which really helped with some issues i was having with numbness in my arm). most recently, my 6 yo daughter and son were playing a little too rough and my daughter complained of neck pain. she couldn't look up and couldn't look right without crying out in pain. i called her pediatrician who advised motrin and tlc. i gave her motrin and then iced her neck as dr g suggested i do when i wake up with a stiff neck. and although it helped a little, she still complained... so, i took her to see dr.g. as always, dr. g was very patient with her, explained to her what was happening, even used me as a model (although my daughter has been in the treatment room when i have been adjusted). within two visits, my daughter felt completely 100%. when i think of all the people who i am most thankful for in my life, i count dr. g as one of them. she has helped me thru some scary medical times in my life with grace, authority and confidence. besides being a wonderful, generous and thoughtful friend, she is truly an educated advocate for your health. i think that there are other services offered at her office. but i've never used them. I know she does acupuncture. she's an experienced athlete/triathlete. so, diagnosing and treating sports injuries are second nature to her. i think there is a massage therapist on staff as well. the office staff is always friendly and helpful. the atmosphere at the office is relaxed if not always "zen like". and last but not least, there is dr. g's wonderful dog, james, who greets everyone in the office with a handshake and constantly encourages playtime in the waiting area. :) read more

I was recently in a car accident where I ended up getting some whip-lash. After looking for a conveniently located chiropractor, I found Dr. Grossman. I have now been twice and I really appreciate all of her knowledge and comfort. I do recommend this office for any chiropractic treatment but do suggest not being in a hurry when you come (which makes parking with the meters a little tricky). The offfice can get busy which then bumps everyones appointment around a little bit so give yourself plenty of extra time. read more

Having sampled numerous chiropractors over the years (even when traveling), I am thrilled to finally find my chiropractic "home" in Chiropractic Chicago. First of all, it is an easy place to get to and they let me stop in as needed. Depending on the time of day, the wait could be 0-15 minutes. And the atmosphere is sweet and kind - all of which is fantastic! But most importantly, "Dr. G" has Healing Hands! I have no more neck or back pain issues (which have periodically recurred over the years). I see Dr. G now mostly for maintenance visits, but always leave feeling great - stronger. Dr. G has a passion for her work and is dedicated to her patients' wellbeing I have also learned a lot from her about wholistic health care and alternative health care in general, which is very important to me. I started seeing Dr. Grossman a month after a bad fall. My initial impression of this place was why is it so outdated? But its in Old Town and I figured it was the look. I was wrong the whole education is outdated. I had to watch a video on the care they provide and do all these x-rays and tests and without even being told what the injury was she had already tried to sell me on amount of treatments and special inserts for my shoes. She then spoke about a few issues in my spine and brought up the term subluxation. So of course I thought ok that makes sense and I went ahead and had a few treatments. I did however do my research as well as read all the handouts they give you on this issue-which of course made me wonder...does everyone have this? I also started noticing the multiple articles on the walls that were outdated and talked about the same issue. I started to really become concerned. I probably ended with about 6-7 treatments in total and stopped going. Then out of nowhere I was down for the count. My back was done and I could barely move after a routine workout that I had been doing now for three months. I decided to give her another chance and sure enough she told me to come in three times in one week and to not do any activity just lay on my back and relax. Then I went two times the next week and she tried getting me to come another day and i decided to ask what to do in the meantime at home like strength exercises and she didnt respond she just kept talking about me coming in again. So i cancelled my next appointment that I had scheduled. I received an email to make sure I was ok and they were concerned about why I had to cancel. I told them my schedule didnt allow the time to come in and they were adamant about getting me back in. I said it would be at least two weeks so what exercises should I do to help until I come in again. Once again she ignored me and said when can we schedule you again? I was shocked she really truly had no concern about me but more my money. I never responded. Then just two days ago I received a phone call saying hello how are you? We have not seen you in a while when can we get you in? Would Friday or Monday work for you? So today I went to a new Dr and he couldn't believe what I had told him. I could tell immediately he was truly concerned about me as a patient. I told him everything about the fall and without even an x-ray he knew what potentially was wrong and once we did the x-rays he went over them with me and explained in detail what was really wrong. He started to worry I was getting improper adjustments. He never once sold me on treatments and immediately said he doesnt even want to see me that much. He really wanted me to focus on at home work and exercises. He also wants me to keep working out so I dont weaken my back muscles. I didnt even mention subluxation to him because I had forgotten but the best part is he never once brought up that term!! I usually never write a review but I had to on this one. I really hope people will read this and take into consideration that sometimes cheaper isnt always the better option. read more
