I am currently being seen by Omar at the clinic on Wabash to address my IT issues, which stem from my weak hips, weak glutes and bad balance. I'd been meaning to get gait analysis done forever, but hadn't gotten around to it. And wow, I'm glad that I got it done! All you runners out there that haven't gotten it done should!! The video does not lie. And, you can't see yourself running (unless you or someone else films you) and let's be honest, when you're racing, you might not be thinking about your form as much as you need to. With me, I'm thinking about the time and finishing as fast as I can. The process went as such: Jason evaluated me as I ran through a series of tests. He them filed me walking on the treadmill and then he filmed me as I ran. I ran at a comfortable pace and ran as I normally would. He then went over the film with me and pointed out some key issues. For me, when I land, my left leg comes out to the side and I land on the outside of my foot. My left knee drops in too. Not good. Also, my kick is not going far back enough, which causes me to land way too far out instead of landing underneath my hips. Again, this is in part due to my weak hips. But, there are things I can do to work on form, which I will try. I have yet to get my report and go over it with my PT. I look forward to reviewing it and making whatever changes I can. Bottom line: if you are a runner get gait analysis done! You won't regret it!

They don't just go through the motions--they take the time to listen, explain, and make sure you understand every step of the process. What really stood out to me was how knowledgeable everyone is. You can tell they truly know what they're doing, and that gave me a lot of confidence in my recovery. They created a plan that was tailored to me and pushed me just enough to make real progress without feeling overwhelmed. Honestly, the results feel almost like a miracle. When I first came in, my shoulder was in rough shape, and I wasn't sure how much better it could get. Now, it feels significantly stronger and more mobile--I'm beyond grateful. I truly owe my improvement to the amazing team at Cora. If you're looking for a place that combines professionalism, kindness, and real results, I can't recommend Cora Physical Therapy enough. Perhaps once a year or so, one of my leg muscles or somewhere in my knee joint would flare up during training and slow my running nearly to a halt. The experience was always incredibly demoralizing. And perhaps more demoralizing was the fact that repeated bouts of physical therapy didn't seem to prevent the issue from occurring in the future. It always felt like something was missing, so I searched around for an expert that could help me piece it together. I sat down with Jason for my initial evaluation, prepared for another month long routine of stretching and glute strengthening exercises. But even within the first half hour of meeting me, Jason was already subverting my expectations. He effortlessly identified a lack of hip mobility and tight quads -- the ultimate "etiology" of the knee pain as he called it. He sent me off with some hip mobilization exercises, and when I came back soon after he offered to dry needle my quads. The difference these two changes made were night-and-day. The nightmare of another month of PT had vanished in an instant, and I was back to running nearly pain-free. And what's more so is that the results have lasted. A few short weeks in Jason's care, and I've been back to the running grind nearly flawlessly for months on end now. Jason is truly different than other PTs I've worked with in the past. He clearly has a remarkable level of experience and a principled approach to rehabilitation that yields sustained results. I am incredibly happy I chose Jason for my PT and would highly recommend him to other runners.

I chose this location because I go to school in the West Loop and East Bank Club is right off my bus route home. It's also a short walk from the Merchandise Mart L stop. I couldn't be happier with the service I've received. Within a couple weeks I was able to walk stairs again at a reasonable pace. I can't tell you how many times I got the stink eye at school for taking the elevator 1 floor, even with my fashionable knee brace on. A few weeks after that my gait stopped resembling Frankenstein's. Right now I'm on the tail end of my therapy and doing good. The facilities here are very clean and the staff is all always really nice, professional and friendly; you don't have to be an East Bank Club member to go here. However, just because they're friendly doesn't mean you won't leave feeling like you just got your ass kicked (especially in your early visits). I've actually become friends with my physical therapist, it turns out her fiancee and I go to school together too. Beware of the massage (or punishment as I prefer to call it)! Sometimes they schedule you for massage wherever you're injured, while it sounds fun (who wouldn't want a massage right?) it's actually pretty painful. The massage therapists are really nice and I'm sure in the long run it's to your benefit. Bottom line these people know their stuff and will treat you right. TIP: When you're scheduling, schedule at least 2-3 weeks of appointments in advance, times book up fast.

I was so grateful to her for her stellar help (she saved me from a really awful franchise PT in the Greater Chicago area that was greedy and unethical), that I have followed her to her new company. I'm so happy for her quick success, but not surprised at all. When you offer such great care and service, word gets around. Briefly, about Meredith: Meredith is a consummate all around professional. For someone so successful, you would think she would hold herself so high or walk around like she is so important, but what I have witnessed is someone extremely humble, 100% dedicated to the people she assists, and someone who wants to to guide your recovery end to end, from your initial visit, to understanding your everyday routine, to following up via email, asking you to push yourself and not be afraid of doing the right things on the path to recovery. She is motivating but not pushy, and in fact comes off like she is a friend that sincerely wants you to get better. Every single problem I had with the corporate chains (before I had met her) was validated by Meredith. She agreed I was previously charged unfairly, that it was wrong for me to not have a PT tend to me for the whole hour that I was previously billed, and that the overall way that I was treated was an insult to educated professionals who pride themselves on the well being of their patients. Patient - not customer. With Meredith, she ensures all charges are exactly as expected, because she cares about her patients well being physically, financially and ultimately mentally. That's all you can ask for.

Kai made the atmosphere very peaceful, with low lights, fragrance, and music. She asked me for the areas to focus on, and to let her know when something was too painful. I wanted something to remove knots from my muscles, not just pamper me. After a lovely half hour, which felt way too short, I put on a gown and went to see the doctor. Dr. Jeon was informative and friendly. He talked to me about my issues, looked at my back, and used the electric laser machine before the treatments.
