We had a party of close to 30 people and booked the Big Daddy bus. The bus and the service altogether was freakin awesome! Our group had such a blast on the bus, dancing to our tunes on the loud speakers, cruising all over Chicago, and just having a good time! The process of securing the bus was super simple with quick email and phone replies. The bus arrived early and was very accommodating to take us where we wanted to go. Our driver was very friendly and understood that we were all there to just party. I think he had a lot of fun with us as well! What a great company to work with. I organized a bachelor party for my best friend and Chitown Party Bus made the experience amazing. We were scheduled to be picked up at 8:30 and Chris (bus driver) wad there at 8:15. He then drove us around, on a rainy night, to 5 different bars. He was very polite and knowledgeable about the city. Also was very good in dropping us off and picking us up really close to the door of the establishments eet went to so we didn't get soaking wet. He was able to keep us on schedule and got us back to the hotel at 2:30 which was our end time. Oh, and the price was very reasonable as well. I'm reluctant to write a poor review... because Chris V. seems like a good dude, and throughout the trouble we had, appeared to be doing his best to rectify. Some people who write bad reviews seem itchy, or on the prowl to find something wrong with every situation just to sound off. I'm not that way. Big picture reality is... we still had a great evening party / concert with good friends. However I feel compelled to share my experience more as an FYI so you can avoid a few of the issues we experienced. A). The service was sub-contracted to another bus company... so the bus we scheduled, was not the bus that showed up. The bus that showed up was in fact clean and very nice... but it did not have an iPod jack (as promised), or a working flat screen (also promised), cups, ice, or paper towel (all promised). Not the end of the world.... we dealt with it and still had a great time (but again was not equipped as promised). b). Double charged. Per the contract we paid the driver in cash for the balance due. Five days later I happened to check my credit card, I noticed I had been double charged... not by chi town party bus,... but by the other company who I did not have an agreement with. Chris apologized and I do believe it was an honest mistake, because if it was intentional it would be a very stupid and short term business plan. My beef on this front is not that it happened but that after 3 weeks the credit had still not been applied. It may have been out of Chris's control given the charge was from another company. Chris did appear to try and solve the problem and even emailed receipts showing the credit had been applied. When after another week it had not, I dealt with my credit card company (Mastercard) who quickly had the charges overturned. Would have been much better if Chris had been on the offensive to make the situation right... Advice if you hire these guys: a). Get a receipt for your cash payment to the driver b). Make sure you get in writing... that if you are sub-contracted out... it will be on an equivalent or better bus, with equivalent or better amenities. c). Check your credit card statement afterwards to make sure an error didn't happen. Chris no ill will... all things considered I would consider hiring these guys again... because even with the billing snafu headache, Chris was responsive and I do believe he has good intentions. Perhaps he just needs to work out the kinks in his business. read more

Not being a fan of trolleys, I wanted something a little different (and awesome) for this year's birthday bar crawl, and ChiTown Party Bus had the perfect vehicle. We rented their "VooDoo Daddy Bus" which is a blacked-out converted school bus that can only be described as "badass." One can only assume it was the bus that drove Chuck Norris to/from elementary school (or maybe Chuck drove himself to elementary school on this bus); it's that awesome. This land yacht is all-party inside and out. The interior was spacious and had an incredible sound system (w/ iPhone input), THREE dance poles, a TV, and massive insulated cooler that handled an extremely large quantity of beer and ice (they even provided the ice). Overall, the service was first class. Our driver arrived early, was incredibly friendly, handled every one of our drunken route suggestions like a pro (and even suggested some fun alternatives that we didn't know about), always texted his location to me while we were in the bars, and not once showed an ounce of impatience, despite how obnoxious our group was or when we blasted the stereo. Honestly, could not have asked for a better birthday. These guys rock. read more

I want to start off by saying that the driver Scott was very nice and helpful. No complaints there. I just want to give someone else a heads up about what I experienced and how disappointed we were. #1. We rented the limo bus for a wedding and most limos know to make sure the floor is clean along with the door jams because of the long dresses. The floor was so dirty that one pass across it created black marks on my wedding dress. The bridesmaids dresses went to the floor and we're dirty very fast. One bridesmaid got dirt on her dress just from sitting on the seat. Also they promised a rollout red carpet which was not provided. #2. The outside of the limo bus looked very beat up and not clean for use for a wedding. #3. The air conditioning seemed to not work as well as it should. It was only about 85 degrees outside so it wasn't because of the heat. It just felt like the air was on but blowing semi-cool air. This was a big problem because we were unable to enjoy the limo as much because we were already sweating before pictures and that nobody wanted to drink anything or move much less. Our hair and make up suffered the consequences and became very frizzy and curls fell out before we could get to the ceremony which was the most important part of the day. You want to look presentable, not like you just ran a mile in a wedding dress. Dripping sweat. One of the bridesmaids got really sick because of the heat as well. Overall was a dissapointment for the price we paid and unfortunately it was a big part of the day that just wasn't enjoyable. If I would do it all over again, I would have paid a little more for a hummer limo (something about the same size that looks nicer on the outside) which they didn't seem to offer anything in a similar style. At another place so the floor would be clean and have air conditioning that works like it should. read more

Price was right, sound and lighting system were AWESOME, tons of cooler space, in house beer bong was used copiously, and the stripper poles came in very handy for our, um, strippers! We loved "Big Daddy" and Kedric, our driver! How he managed to negotiate the streets of Chicago with 26 girls having a bachelorette party right behind him..I will never know. But he was early to pick us up, punctual to each of our stops, and even helped us clean up the bus after the party! Highly recommended. read more

Complete scam. We are now pursuing a lawsuit against this company!! I would give zero stars if it were an option. They send out wrong bus as an "upgrade" (it was much smaller, and guests were cramped); their driver SMOKES while driving with the windows UP; and won't stop when you ask him to, even when passengers need to use the bathroom. On top of that, at the end of the night we started cleaning up the bus (we had brought trash bags and paper towels with) and the driver told us to leave everything and that it is fine in the condition it was in. Few days later we get charged an extra $300! On top of the original fee we had paid for a larger sizes bus that we DID NOT get... We called and emailed multiple times (all are documented), with no response. After a negative Yelp review, we get charged an EXTRA $200. Additionally, the immature owner/manager is now harassing us via text message AND social media. And still refuses to refund the money they keep stealing from us. Initially we were very pleased with the service of ChiTownPartyBus. You definitely get what you expect...a converted school bus that was fully stocked with all the tools for a good time. What we didn't expect however, were the post-party clean up fees charged to our credit card without any additional notification. We all very very good about cleaning the bus after our trip. However I woke up the following day to see a new charge on my card without any sort of email or explanation. I emailed to company and was told these charges were for additional cleaning. I have to say, our group uses plenty of trolleys and party bus companies for various outings, and not once have we every recieved such a fee. You'd think a company that prides itself on being "THE" party bus company, and stocks its busses with coolers, beer bongs and shot skis, would expect there to be some routine cleaning after each outing. Honestly, it just felt like a cheap ploy to get some extra money out of us. Overall, it's not worth spending the night worrying about your deposit or cleaning fees. There are plenty of other companies out there...save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere. read more

The driver didn't have the address to any of the locations that were previously listed on the itinerary and made the bride text him the addresses while we were all on the bus. Driver was the bomb, helping me with Boarding Treats for my Guests! He stood outside the bus in the freezing cold and offered Champagne and Shots in Chocolate Shot glasses to my guest. Loved Chitown Party Bus! We had the VIP bus that took us from Crystal Lake to Howl @ the Moon and back using the round trip rate. Jim the bus driver was awesome. He came early to pick us up and waited until everyone was ready. Then he was there to pick us up even when we were ready to leave a 1/2 hour earlier than planned. The bus was stocked with ice and has two bar areas. The sound and lights were awesome and Jim did not care when we cranked the music the whole way to the city and back! The staff was great when we booked the bus and even when I had a person want to leave early they helped me decide the best way to get them home. Did the Christmas lights tour it was great ! We got out at Lincoln park zoo for 15 minutes or so..driver April,was a pleasure, nice, friendly , accommodating . Saw the Macy's Windows, melenium park, water tower ... It was a fun 1 hour tour.. I'd recommend it to anyone who just wants to peak at the lights without driving or cabbing to each destination. read more

Rented the big daddy for my birthday. I rented for 37-40 people and it holds 36 and for a charter trip(stopping at bars to use bathroom)..not a problem but they knew this information and didnt say anything about it. Hours before i get a text from chris saying i get an upgraded bus bc big daddy had gotten trashed. Cool...except it didnt have poles, beerbong, ski shots like the big daddy and when the bus had arrived it could only fit 29 people which i was okay with but the driver (mark) did not want to drive bc its illegal to have 36 people on a 29 person bus. Okay, so we figured it out we go to down the street to a bar, some of us get off and go in some stay on the bus. The company sent out another bus (which is awesome but i didnt really wanna split up the party). The new bus driver said he did not need to be there and we can all smush on the bus (he had only counted the people not inside the bar). Whatever we made it work. Mark would not stop where we really wanted, at one point my friend asked if we could pull over for a bar so she could use the bathroom he pulled over got out and smoked WITHOUT OPENING BUS DOORS, when he returned he told her to hold it...very rude. The radio in the bus also was not working. At the last stop we had started straightening up and mark told us to leave that the condition of the bus was okay. We had asked him straight forward "we wont be charged" he said no. We had even brought our own paper towels our own garbage bags kept things in order. The only garbage on their bus was a small little bathroom sized garbage. Good thing we brought our own bags. At this point we were upset but still was a decent night no drama besides with the company. Until i received and unprofessional, immature, rude email from chris (the owner). Basically mad another bus came out for only 29 people (the rest were in the bar). Claiming we are being charged 300$ for leaving the bus trashed, saying "just because you didnt recieve the big daddy for that reason doesnt mean you can trash another bus" am i crazy? Or is he claiming that we had done it on purpose? Besides the fact the driver said it was fine, and no one had puked. Also saying glasses were missing...when we had bottles of beer no one used any glass ware (which the big daddy would not have even had). He also said how big daddy couldnt fit 37 people anyways and he was under the impression it was just a barcrawl when i selected the charter option. I read another review on yelp where someone had threw up on a bus and only was charged 100$...really? We brought our own bags and paper towels and get charged 300$. Also the pic they had sent as "our bus" was used in an email contract a few days prior. ITS TOTALLY A SCAM. And we tried working it out before coming on here, after 3 emails and 4 calls being ignored. Its obvious he was mad sending out another bus for "no reason". When he finally responded he never answered any of our questions but more personally attacked us and defended him. Completely unprofessional..esp when we were trying to handle it maturely. Side note i have screenshots with dates proving all of this and would gladly share with anyone who would like to contact me. We came upon ChiTown Party Bus while looking for transportation around downtown for pictures on our wedding day. Being one of the cheaper party bus companies, we weren't sure what to expect, but the bus was very clean, the driver was very nice and accommodating to a couple last minute changes in route.
