I used to be a regular at Chocolate Dude, the sweets are awesome! But... recently I have noticed a difference. The employees were all super helpful and nice, especially the owner Kirk? He was always in the shop and happy to explain what everything was on the menu and gave recomendations. The last I went in, I was informed he no longer worked there. I defintly felt a diffrence, the employees seemed misrable and the service I loved was no longer there. Chocolate dude was out of my way but I went anyhow for the service and the goodies. OH MY GOD! That in itself could be a well-rounded review for this place. I had heard about Chocolate Dude opening and was intrigued to check it out. Chocolate and I are the best of friends, so I obviously needed give this place a try. My friend and I went this afternoon, and I was enticed by the aesthetics of the store's decor and of course the chocolate treats themselves. We were offered a sample of their chocolate and caramel covered apples, which was absolutely delicious. My friend opted for dark chocolate covered strawberries. I went with more of a variety and got a dark chocolate covered Oreo, a dark chocolate Coconut Haystack (chocolate and coconut), and a dark chocolate Pecan Lobo (chocolate, caramel and pecans). I'm pretty sure I went into a chocolate-induced coma. Everything was incredibly scrumptious! The texture and flavor of their dark chocolate and caramel were just perfect, not too hard or sweet, and they complemented each other well. I'm still interested in trying their other chocolates and especially their enormous chunks of fudge. Needless to say, I greatly enjoyed my experience here, and I will undoubtedly be making many return trips in the future. Highly recommended! read more

Love love loooove this place. They have coffee and espresso! Guess what?! They have almond milk too! They have a huge variety of chocolates and caramel covered apples. The service is always so nice and fast. They ambiance is relaxing and you are able to watch them make chocolates on the spot. They also have a good amount of seating so you have hang out and have a conversation. They have metered parking in the front and on the side. We had been celebrating my mom's birthday at the Monte Vista Fire Station and I decided that some chocolate would be the perfect nightcap. I logged onto Yelp and did a search. The Chocolate Dude was the first place that came up and it was an easy walk. We were taken in by the cute, kitchiness of the place and were amazed by the selection of delicious treats! Wow, this place is almost amazing enough for me to consider moving to Albuquerque. The coffee and chocolate are both legit in their own right. The espresso is imported from France and you can taste it. My favorites were the salted caramels, available in milk or dark chocolate. Pretty sure that used pink Himalayan sea salt on them... incredible. read more

Yum!! This is definitely a place I could hang out all day and get fat on candy! I haven't had the coffee or their new fresh lemonade yet, but I will definitely try on my next time. The worst thing about this place is deciding what to try. Chocolate dude himself offered us a yummy sample of a chocolate/peanut butter fudge that was melt in your mouth delish. I ended up getting a milk chocolate lobo, basically a turtle(though he said he's not allowed to call them that) and my daughter chose the rainbow sprinkle covered marshmallows. We just stopped by Chocolate Dude tonight for the first time and it is fantastic! The store is so warm and inviting. You can watch the actual chocolate dude making his magical treats. And, the register counter is a beautiful wooden replica of the front of a VW bus. But, you are thinking, how is the chocolate?? Well, I'll tell you. It is terrific. We got a milk chocolate pecan lobo (their version of the turtle, but available in about ten different nut varieties), a piece of peanut butter fudge and a block of chupacabra - the most tempting, melt-in-your-mouth confection which is a blend of peanut butter and white chocolate. If you haven't gone in to check out this relative newcomer to Nob Hill, and you have any kind of a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and get in there. Kirk has only been in his location for about three months, but they are already experts in great tasting confections. read more

Wonderful service. They greeted us as soon as we walked in and were so friendly. He worked to get our order while also talking VW with us (which started because of their amazing volkswagen counter made out of wood). The owner have is a free taste of fudge "just because"! From when you walk in the door you feel like you're their best customer. Everyone stops what they're doing to greet you. The decor is what you might remember from nob hill 15 years ago, very hippy chic. Unfortunately I have never had enough time to sit and spend much time relaxing here, but it seems like it would be a great place to read the paper. We went right before Valentine's Day after moving to the area only 10 days before. WOW! What a find! No doubt that it is pricey, but it was worth it. We dropped $50 on 6 chocolate covered strawberries (HUGE!), a box of caramels (that had both milk chocolate and dark chocolate) and a couple of other pieces for the 4 of us. Found chocolate dude on yelp while looking for a confectionary to get a nice gift for my sister in law. It's a really cute little shop and you can smell the espresso as soon as you walk in. The girl behind the counter was extremely sweet and helpful (wish I would've asked her name) and helped me choose the perfect chocolatey gift. I really enjoy a lot if things about this place. First their variety of chocolates is great, and if you aren't sure of something they've just come up with, they are the first ones to let you try it. The cost is pretty comparable to what you're getting, but they have deals on groupon, yelp, and also if you're a student. Loved this place!!! The chocolate is amazing, so many products to choose from, I am especially excited about their chocolate strawberries. Their Mexican Mocha is also so good perfectly balanced and the toasted marshmallows are definitely worth it. Also, backdrop is so good for cute insta photos if that's what you're here for! My only only critique is that their couch could use a little better lighting if they wanna make it a prime photo location cause it's actually the best atmosphere. I am a huge fan. Free chocolate covered pretzel coming in the door, gotta like that! There was also a magician out front doing card tricks for anybody that would ask him. The business itself is nice inside, good atmosphere with comfortable seating, though not a lot of seating. The chocolate is pretty good, my wife had the orange slices covered in dark chocolate and I had the Lobo turtle in milk chocolate and the Lobo caramel and sea salt, also in milk chocolate. Wow, this place is AMAZING!!! My husband surprised me by organizing a private chocolate tasting for me and some friends for my birthday. The Chocolate Dude made it very special. They set up a tray of all the best chocolate and reserved a section just for us. Their hot chocolate and cappuccino are phenomenal. The chocolate covered apple and chocolate covered strawberries were unbeatable. We tried so many chocolates and all of them were simply amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place and how great their chocolates are. They are literally some of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend stopping by trying some chocolate.
